I got a flat just around the corner and Alex was kind enough to change it for me free of charge. I would definitely recommend Discount Auto Parts if simply just because they have amazing staff!
Be careful with this place. I called for an alternator and he said a price, I was amazed by the price and mention another placed that had the same one for way more. He put me on hold and came back and told me that it was a mistake on the price and try to sell it for almost the same price I told him from the other place.
Got ready to head out and the battery was dead. Roadside jumped us off but we needed a new battery. Called Discount Auto Parts and they had 1 instock. Took it into Sonny to check it out and he happily changed it out in a jiffy. Now we are 3 days I to our vacation with a piece of mind of a new battery. Their customer service is by far top notch. SONNY, your tha man.
Our car battery died in the middle of our vacation. We're not super car-handy, and we had stupidly left our tools at home. Things were shaping up to be fairly frustrating, but in comes our Fairy Godmothers to save the day.
Not only were they able to sell us the correct battery (literally had one single one in stock) but they had all the requisite skills and tools to make the changeout happen, free of charge. I'd give a million stars if I could, the friendly smiles and chitchat was just a bonus.
What a wonderful resource for our small community of full time residents and large community of guests and visitors! Sarah is very knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate towards the needs of others to keep their vehicles upgraded and ready for the road. I can't thank them enough for going the extra mile on a busy Saturday morning to bring in the parts to get my stranded work vehicle back in action. These are a bunch of rock stars working and running this auto parts business!
Awesome service and great prices. To get the customer service I get here is rare. The staff does not read a script, they actually know about the parts you need. They have helped me with AC, hardware, coil packs and more. THE BIGGEST SAVINGS IS NOT NEEDING TO LEAVE THE ISLAND. No hour round trip going on the ferry or going to Flour Bluff. Every April when I come to Port-A I am glad they are still here!
Woke up to find my battery was dead. Discount Auto Parts was the closet to me. Went to pick it up and not only did they have one, but he tested my old one and replaced it for me! It was very unexpected service that he didn’t charge me for! And he helped me with the proper pronunciation of the town Port Aransas. I didn’t catch his name but thank you very much!
In Port Aransas for vacation and my car battery died. I was able to limp it into Discount Auto Parts and they were able to run a test on my battery and confirmed that I needed a new one. They had a new one in stock and they let me borrow tools to get it swapped out in the parking lot. The staff was super friendly and the battery was reasonably priced.
Incredible experience! A small shop, but they fit a lot in there and have extremely helpful and friendly staff. Sarah helped us find a very specific car part that we really didn't think we'd be able to find on the island. Can confidently recommend this shop!

Have used the Port A & Aransas Pass locations many times over the last few years.
It’s something that tha island has needed for quite sum time people are super friendly and knowledgeable and what parts they don’t have they can get prices are still competitive some things maybe a lil more but when you add tha price of your time and gas to go get that part it works out so no complaints about that here I get my parts here rather than drive sumwhere else
My sister's electric car battery went out, we weren't sure if it was still covered under warranty, they looked it up ordered us a new one and got us back on the road in less that 24hrs! Super friendly and super knowledgeable staff!
These guys really saved our vacation! Connor and Trent went above and beyond to make sure we got home after a great time at the beach..

While going home, our battery died on the ferry. Yea, well we thought that the crew would give us a jump, no. They pushed us off back to port Aransas and a good Samaritan gave us jump. We found discount auto by word of mouth and they were kind enough to install a new battery in 100 degree heat and no easy task now with new wiring harness ect. Thanks Sonny for ending our bad experience with a good one.
I needed motor oil and a funnel because I had an oil leak in my vehicle; I didn’t know about this place until I did a search here in Google Maps. They had what I needed, and the employees were very helpful and courteous. Next time I need auto parts in Port Aransas I know where to get them from; no need to drive all the way to North Padre Island or Corpus Christi.
Need a couple of replacement bulbs for our Motorhome. They had them in stock and were very reasonable price wise. Store appears to be very well stocked.
My brother in law needed a battery and they had one they weren't charging an extra 40 dollars for, other option was to drive to corpus at the same price. Guy on the phone was really helpful and didn't mind dealing with a battery dead tourist. Recommend this place.
My jeep had a battery notification on while visiting Port A. So I decided to find a place to get my battery and alternator checked. Came here and Trent (I think) jumped right on it. Came out, checked the alternator and battery, then checked fuses and a few other things. No dice no major problems but as I backed out, my jeep died. So he and someone else came out to keep trying things out. Helped me push the jeep back into a spot and were super friendly the entire time.
I have great confidence in these young mens' professional advice! Both Seth and Trent are super heroes in auto parts uniforms. I am now a lifetime customer! My favorite Discount Auto Parts Store. As an older woman, I felt quite secure in their service and knowledge. I wish everyone's sons were this dedicated and passionate about helping others in this particular field.

Staff was really accommodating when my truck broke down. I hope I never meet them again in that same situation but if you need parts.... Think they are the only option on the island.
