Been the mechanic I've used for over 20 years. They've always been friendly, honest, reliable. As long as I need a mechanic, these are the people I will call on.

I stopped by after a failed state inspection due to a "bad" wiper blade. I knew there was nothing wrong with them just had them installed in May, I even told the manager where I was getting my inspection done that these wipers were practically brand new. So with the threat of not passing inspection I had new one installed.
I left and just happened to pass by Jim Phillips Auto Service and spoke with Tommy who inspected said wiper blade and he said there was nothing wrong with it. Nothing even close to failing, he even pulled up the Texas State Inspection Book and reviewed the wiper blades portion with me and even gave me a copy.
So with that information I went back to original place of inspection and told them there's nothing wrong with my blade, they continued to contest, so I pulled out the copy of State Inspection Tommy gave me and read them what they should have known.
Long story short, they refunded my money!

I have a student attending school in Lubbock which is hours away from home. He was having electrical issues with his vehicle. I called Jim Phillips Auto and was told they could get me in the following day. They went out of their way to find me a part that had been on back order. This will be my repair shop for any future issues. Honest, informative, and customer service was Excellent.

Jim Phillips is awesome. Needed an O2 sensor replaced and had already had the diagnostic worked up at another shop. They were super chill to work with, waived my diagnostic fee, and took care of the O2 sensor without any problems. Best part is they could tell me the exact price to the cent to get the repair done before I brought the car in, and got it done within a day just like they said they would. This is an honest auto shop that does good work, and I'd feel safe putting my family in any car that they work on.
Mechanic shops have been places I have hated going for a long time. I’m never sure if I can trust what I’m told or if the problem actually got fixed.

I have been going to Phillips Automotive for many years from vehicle inspections to a/c problems and I have never had anything but a good experience. We Brought our car in this morning for some repairs that happened suddenly. They were able to get to us immediately and got us out the same day super friendly staff would definitely recommend
Brought my car here 2-3 times (warrantied) they never could find anything wrong with my car??? I would drive it home and then it was doing the same thing,wouldn't start...On top of that they messed up the electrical window buttons. Called them & was told that's why they don't work on cars that are older than a 2000, I wouldn't call it an automotive shop if I can''t fix a 1999...by the way my car is a 2000....What a waste of time....
This place is fantastic! From the moment I walked in, I was treated very kindly. Tommy took my car and had one of his guys give me a ride home, which was above and beyond what they had to do.
Called me when work was beginning on my car, just to keep me in the loop on the timetable. After the first (I needed two things,) repair was finished, he called again to confirm prices and talk about timetable for that as well.
In the end, I brought my car in on a Friday morning and was out the door by 4:30 that same day. The prices were more than fair, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone!
(P.S. they don't change oil, so the 1-star review you may have read talking about that was mistaken. There is an oil-change place adjacent to this building however.)
These guys forgot to put the nut back on the oil Pan all the way the way so My vehicle slowly ran out of oil until it suddenly stopped working and did so much damage the engine that it could not be repaired. Even though they had record of my visit who does my visit and video footage did nothing to help me and my life really fell apart because i live way out in the country and no longer had a vehicle. I lost my job and frequently got stranded. This place is terrible in how they fix their mistakes .
Phenomenal service at a great value price. My truck's starter went out right before I needed to leave town and these gentlemen fit me in their schedule and beat their estimated time to complete the work. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.
Best mechanic. Period. Will never go back to my factory mechanic for truck issues. Honest. Rapid service. Super customer service. Came highly recommended, and now i see why. True, some prices for services may be slightly higher, but you are paying for excellence and honesty. Well worth it! Quality work by quality people.
The guys were very nice and friendly. I was on a time restraint and they changed my battery quickly and I was on my way. I will definitely be doing business with them again.

I refer everyone I can to Jim Phillips. I have known Tommy for many years and he is one of the most honest people i have ever met. If they can't fix something they say so rather than taking your money like many places.

My husband and I have been taking our personal and work cars to Tommy (owner) for 8 years now. What an honest, gentleman with excellent mechanics. Most importantly, if something doesn't need fixing, Tommy explains why you shouldn't spend the money. If something does need fixing, again, Tommy explains why and does what he can to save you some money. We highly recommend Jim Phillips.
