What clients say about K.C. Recycle Center in Karnes City (TX)
I normally don’t leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel people should know what to expect.
I pulled into Karnes City Metal Recycling after recent rain, and instead of any kind of professional guidance or assistance, the employee/owner stayed inside the shack yelling across the yard that I would get stuck because it was muddy. Communication was difficult, and the entire interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional from the start.
If the yard conditions are too poor for customers to safely access the property after rain, that’s something the business should address and manage professionally — especially when customers are hauling material and taking time out of their day to come there.
What really frustrated me was that I had planned my day around getting this done, and instead of any effort to help or provide alternatives, I was basically turned away after wasting my time and fuel.
After reading other reviews, I can honestly say my experience lines up with many of the complaints already posted here. I won’t be returning, and I’d recommend others call ahead and be cautious before making the trip.
AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANNA BE RIPPED OFF!! Total bs Google says 330 closing but after I drive hr and half all of a sudden closed at 3 screw this place. Update.. Well I went back and they were open guy came out started looking at my trailer full of metal like he was disappointed not sure what that was about. Then very roughly unloaded it with huge excavator. He was fast I'll give him that then I go to the front to get paid expecting about 200 I get 107 and some change so I do the math and sure enough he paid a little less than half of what the actual payment should be. They paid .3 cents should of been around .7 cents per 100# That's just criminal and with that I can guarantee I'll never go back. I'd suggest go to Gonzales or Beeville or Floresville or Victoria all them pay going rate. AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANNA BE RIPPED OFF.
Bring first dryer -13$.... second dryer -10$ ...couple weeks later I bring the biggest dryer yet an a whole solid metal door from a car an got 8$..... yeah defently not going here anymore funny how the scale after he gives you thumbs up starts to change numbers I find that odd
I was only given 6 dollars for 40 pounds of cans. Based on what I read online, the going price is between .50 and 1 dollar. Find somewhere else to recycle your cans.
