THRSE PEOPLE ARE THE WORST!! not only does the owner and his sidekick have the most miserable and rude attitudes, THEY LITERALLY TREATED US LIKE CRAP AND THEN RIPPED US OFF LIKE IT WAS NOTHING! pretended that the receipt would t print and suddenly erased from the screen as well. the two high school kids that are usually their are ok but the elders are terrible
I will start off by saying i know that scrap yards pay less because they are in the business of giving you little so they can get more. I get it. But this is the lowest "breakage" paying scrap yard i have ever heard of. So if you are reading this you know don't expect much payout at this location.
After many years of doing business and never had an issue i was met with a not so pleasent attitude when told that the scale was closed.. when i asked what time it closed i was toldin a rude manner 530 then when i asked the time i was told in the same manner 530 .... When i started to explain that i had drove from Stonewall and had never been turned away at the exact minute of their dead line or even a few minutes past on a couple of occasions.....Or spoken to in a manner. I would have hoped to have gotten some understanding that you would not be opened tomorrow and that i did show up before 530 as a car was appatemtly broken down in front of the roll up door.......which would have surely allowef me to be at the scale before the 530 dead line that was such a problem without concern of what 1 minute that was on time or how it 5 mins pasted your time should have been worth it and do what would have been the right thing to do...Lisa im sorry to even feel the need to write this and do inderstand we all have our bad days... Lisa has always been more than fair to me, even when I had scrap itemized wrong she was extremely polite about it and never penalized me. Best shop in north east Texas in my opinion, Waskom Recycling gets all my metal.
Be coming here for over 2 years, alway paid good for all my scrape. Today was very disappointed in the prices. They onky paid about a 3rd of the average price for scrap in east texas. Plus they were 20 mins late opening. This picture is is the price they paid compared to average. They lost me as a customer
Don't go to this place. A few weeks ago I came in to sell ALUMINUM.
The man that works there put 70 lbs of aluminum on his scale ,he sent me to the office and I got a check for $7.00.i thought it was a little low so
Basically I got paid 10 cents per lb like regular scrap. I called a few days later asking how much they paid for aluminum, a lady told me it was 30 cents a lb. They cheated me out of $14.00. Crooks! Go to Marshall, they pay better!
These gentleman are some of the nicest folks I have ever met, worth the drive to Texas just to chat with them. No scams like some other recycling places I have used. I highly recommend these guys great folks!
Come to correct my initial review and change my rating to five stars, initially a problem arose with prices for my metals after contacting the owner and speaking with her through email we established the problem, come to and agreement and solved the issue at the end of the day. Mrs.Lisa whom I believe is the owner handed the situation in stride and professionally and that speaks volumes for this business and it’s integrity, if there’s a problem this is obviously a business that is built on customer satisfaction/ service and will make every attempt to remedy the issue.
On Monday, took a huge load of copper water pipe, on the "day of the highest copper prices ever", these friendly and helpful folks gave me was than the lowest prices indexed in all of texas. Usually the best. Some places offering 4.10 p copper 1, they reviewed at 380 thru 4.10, and gave me 3.50 oñ several hundred pounds of copper 1. I am shocked and disappointed
I cant believe I have disregarded this place for so long. You get a same-day check for your copper and the guys that work there are Texas friendly and are so helpful. Anytime you have the transpo to make the trip to little ol' Waskom, do it! Oh yeah,...and they stay open until 5:45, too.
The owner is a great lady to deal with. She will match other scrap yards prices and the best part is you don't have to wait for a check. Great place to go
