I’ve been using Transmission Unlimited for about five years on a as needed basis for various vehicles. Every time they have delivered great service at a fair price this past visit was no exception. I have a truck with over 300,000 miles and the transmission was acting up. I was bracing for full replacement. They found a bad connector and repaired it. Many shops would have proceeded with the full replacement, but they were honest and gave me my options which I chose to postpone replacement until later. They operate with integrity. I like that.
I took my 1 ton in thinking I was about to spend thousands on my transmission that was stuck in limp mode. But these honest people called me the next day letting me know I had a broken wire on a pigtail. They charged me very little compared and had my truck ready in less than 24 hours. I'm so grateful for such wonderful and honest people.
Quoted me a decent price to replace my transmission. Called again a week later to set everything up and was informed that they won’t work on my vehicle because I had pulled the driveshaft and a couple of the bell housing bolts myself. I have no way to work on my vehicle myself anymore, and very tight on money with few other options. Ridiculous to say the least.
I had a good experience here. They got my truck in and out in a very reasonable time for the price that they originally quoted me. I got a rebuilt transmission with a 12/12,000 mile warranty.
Good experience Had a transmission seal leaking. I had them replace both of them.
Job was done in a timely manner. Courteous staff and honest.They were very busy. You cannot go by there and find the lot empty…. Cars stacked in there.
Typical parts changers at your expense. No basic troubleshooting to find the problem. They quoted me a basic rebuild. I ask what the cause was. Logan’s answer was he didn’t know. This was my sign to find another shop. Get a call 2 days later it’s in the shop and much worse than expected. I told them I would pay for the diagnostic and pick up the truck. That’s when they told me they had already pulled the transmission. Problem was oil cooler failure antifreeze in oil a transmission fluid in radiator. His answer was they didn’t see it but somehow knew it needs a complete rebuild. Basic troubleshooting would have revealed the problem, and could have been quoted from the get go. When the tech pulled cooler lines the problem would have been very apparent. No need to pull transmission to troubleshoot if you want to give the customer an honest quote. I paid for the services rendered and another tow bill to take truck with transmission in bed to a reputable shop.
Had my mother inlaws vehicle towed there. Was told it might be 3 days before it would get fixed. They identified the problem and had it fixed and ready the next day. At a very reasonable price, great customer service...
My transmission went out on my Ford Taurus. They took care of it so fast. I couldn't have asked for better service all the way around. They are very friendly and helped us tremendously. Thank you for exceptional service.
Service manager and his team are honest and don’t try to cheat you out of money .

I asked if the manager would call me with updates and he did just that. If only other shops could run their business like transmissions unlimited, East Texas would be a better place .
Well it's been over a week since I called them to request a quote for some work needed to be done on my vehicle. Person I spoke to said they would have the quote for me within 24 hours and they never called me back.
No problem I'll take my money elsewhere!!!!
These guys are great! My transmission in my car started making a noise, these were one of the only people that didn't immediately try to sell me a new transmission before even hearing the noise. Although it did end up needing a new transmission, they installed my transmission that I ordered within a day of it receiving it. Great communication through the whole process.

My 2014 Impala had a bad TCM & NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH.. (common on impalas)
No PRNDM display & it would put my car in limp mode or not shift properly..
Intermittent problem for Months & it finally started doing it everyday and leaving me stranded unless I disconnected the battery.
You guys are amazing & I won't be doing business anywhere else.

I only was there to drop off a company vehicle. The place was packed full of vehicles to be worked on. The facility was very clean and well organized. The staff seemed knowledgeable and very cordial.
These folks were easy to deal with and did a hell of a job on my 68RFE.
If you own a RAM from the factory, you know these 68RFEs are the weak links in the drive train. I was looking for a solution similar to RevMax builds or BD. Transmissions Unlimited does their own Billet rebuild, as an alternative to just going back with factory internals. After doing this, I can feel a difference. The transmission holds up to my tunes just fine and the biggest thing is that it did not disappoint when pulling my 5th wheel.
These guys use quality internals, including an aftermarket valve body, which is important.
If you are local to the area and looking for a shop to do your Dodge/RAM 68RFE, I would check them out. I've got a few thousand miles on this build now and so far, no complaints.
I took my H3 Hummer to them 6/26/20 to get the differential carrier assembly done on it for $1,935, in once I picked it up within a week out the shop It started to have problems with the same issue plus my car A/C wasn’t working all of a sudden. So I called to inform them about it, they corrected the differential saying it was just a bad part. They charged me for the diagnosis for my A/C in which they stated it had just leaked Freon, so they EVAC & recharged A/C system, in replaced high side fitting. Now fast forward to 6/17/21 I took my car to them for the water pump to be replaced for $455.92, in once I pick it up I noticed A/C problems again it wasn’t blowing as cold this time. So I called to inform them, in got it down them now their saying I’m looking @ an $1,500 bill because allegedly there’s loose metal in my compressor blocking the air. I’m so over it at this point I’ll definitely take my service elsewhere. Also not to mention my daughter is experiencing A/C problems also on her 2011 CTS that they just done work on her vacuum brake for 1,200 same issue accrued we had to bring it back they said a code didn’t show up the first time so she ended up needing another part to complete the issue which cost her another $250.00. Once they done that now her A/C is barely blowing cold. Just seems like a quick summer time scam to me concerning the A/C BEWARE:

They have always treated me with respect and have done an excellent job of repairs and keeping the cost of work down. They saved me over $300 on a repair when it turned out I didn't need the trans. Overhauled, just needed vacuum hoses replaced.
Was charged $180 just to check out what the issues were with the vehicle and was told it would cost $998.50. I checked around town and feel like I was getting taken advantage of. Get a second opinion!
Transmission was going out on my wife's Dodge Nitro, so I had it dropped off at Transmissions Unlimited for a full rebuild, new valve body, and torque converter. Picked it up 2500$ later, and all seemed well. It even came with a 12,000 mile, 12 month warranty! Wow, can't beat that right? Well before even making it to half that warranty, it starts slipping again. Dropped it off to have it checked, they informed us that after driving and looking it over that there was no problem...hmmm weird, they then informed us that we should drive it until it happens again, then bring it back....sure whatever...it's not even close to the warranty expiration. About a month later, it's slipping horribly now, so drop it back off, they pull it apart, replace a solenoid again on the valve body. Truck is returned to us, not even a week goes by and it's now slipping as bad as before it was rebuilt. Call to schedule an appointment and we are told it will cost us MORE MONEY for them to look at it, diagnose, and fix. So apparently, the 12 month warranty or 12000 miles, is not even a real thing. Because if it is incorrectly "fixed" and they have to look at it more than once, the warranty is not valid. That's a great business model, bet y'all make a killing. Out of curiosity had the transmission fluid tested and it contained a Friction Modifier, which explains why it quit slipping for the few weeks after we dropped it off for warranty repairs and was told it "seemed fine". Nothing more to say but, do business with this place at your own risk
Friendly service however attempted to charge me almost $400 to take a rats nest off the top of my transmission. That was causing a short in the electrical system. Lonestar transmission not only is 1/2 the labor rate they also fixed my issue for free.
I do not know about the quality of work, but I called to get a price to rebuild my transmission and I would supply the rebuild kit. I was told $700.00 for labor and fluids. I ordered the rebuild kit ($210.00). I called back and was told it was going to be $2000.00. Now I am stuck with a $210.00 rebuild kit.
I've used Transmissions Unlimited for the past three years and have nothing but positive things to say about the whole team.
