I took my 2007 Saturn sky to have some maintenance done I could tell from talking with Joe and there was a guy I cannot remember his name that worked for Saturn I could tell they were familiar with Saturn. I felt like the car was in good hands. I was pleased work and the price.
I recently had my first experience with Southern Longview Automotive and I would highly recommend them! The AC went out in 2008 mx-5 and i had gone to two shops prior, where I spent a ton of money and the issue was never identified. Finally at Southern, Joe and the team not only found the issue but went abound and beyond to get everything fixed as quickly and affordably as possible, despite any complications. I was treated like a friend, I’d go back for any issues I have with my vehicle.
As someone who doesn’t know much about cars, Joe really took the time to explain the process and what the problem ended up being with my car! He also has some great mechanics who know what they are doing!
Joe and the mechanics here are awesome. In America today it is extremely hard to find honest mechanics that do a good job and do it correctly. They fixed every issue sent me updates along the way and communicated how everything was going.
This shop is worth every penny. They replaced the O ring I messed up that was leaking on the oil plug, did an alignment that most shops ignored or wouldnt do stating the vehicle was too heavy, replaced both lower control arms correctly after the original failed and I was in a bind.
I will gladly support them and send every vehicle I have to them.

This is a great repair facility! Highly knowledgeable and HONEST as well as reasonable! They have worked in several of our family’s cars including one that was half underwater in a flood and were able to repair and restore even that one. Highly recommend!
I brought in my vehicle for a coolant flush and thermostat replacement. Joe and his team are top-notch professionals, and I can't stress that enough. I doubt that there's a shop (or many businesses in Longview overall) that are as straight-forward and honest as Southern Longview Automotive. Mechanics are expensive no matter where you go. However, I challenge anyone to find more reasonable prices. They don't nickel and dime at all. Clear communication, honesty, integrity, and respect is what you'll find here. If you want to deal with real people and not sales reps, this is the place you want to go.

Excellent mechanic shop with professional technicians. Great attitudes and I was updated promptly the throughout the process. I was able to provide my own parts. I had brakes and rotors done and also an oil change on my Audi a6. Audi software can be finicky but they handled great. I will be back for future maintenance and aftermarket installs.
If you’re needing vehicle service, this is the place to go! I had the best experience with this company, specifically Joe. Very transparent and straightforward, with options and estimates provided upfront. Great quality service. I will always recommend this place.

Look no further, this should be your go-to shop. My vehicle was making an odd noise, so they did thorough diagnostics and found the problem quickly. Joe went above and beyond to explain the issue and answer all of my questions. Based on our conversation about the problem, I decided that no action was needed at this time. I highly recommend them for their expertise, honesty, and kind communication!
This place was awesome!!! they were able to fix the front end alignment 1965 Chevy nova. After I had a bad experience with another local front end,Shop . Luckily I found Southern Longview automotive . They were able to get the alignment straighten out , and make the car drive. Perfect. The people that work there are very nice and friendly . I would highly recommend this place !!!
Honest, helpful, and do great work. The first time I went to their shop it was to have a transmission looked at. They diagnosed the problem and told me I would need a new transmission. They didn't stop there. They looked into the specific issue my car was having and found a service bulletin from Toyota that may cover the repair. They sent me to the Toyota dealership which replaced the transmission for free. Southern Longview Automotive did not have to go to this extra effort, and it is especially admirable considering that they knew it would probably mean losing the work for the shop. They may have lost me for that repair, but they gained my trust and business on everything going forward. I strongly recommend.
I have been using Southern Longview Automotive for several years now. They are the only mechanic I will take my vehicles to. Joe always goes over what they found in detail on my vehicle. He is exceptional at helping me understand what is going on with any given issue. He always gives me multiple options and informs me of any possible outcomes of each option. I've never met another mechanic that would take over 20 minutes on the phone helping me understand the problem and make an informed decision. They are always transparent on the parts and labor costs, and they warranty most every part that you get replaced with them. Matt, the owner, and his team are highly knowledgeable and they truly care about your vehicle running properly and safely.
In short they know their stuff. they're friendly. they're honest. they're way cheaper than the other guys. they guarantee their work and their parts. I found them on a BBB recommendation. they were in the top three. they let me know that my car had other issues besides what brought me in there that day but didn't pressure me to get it fixed right then and didn't pressure me to get it fixed with them. just told me I needed to get it fixed pretty soon so that it wouldn't be dangerous.. they were also very accommodating. gave me a ride to and from anywhere in town while I waited for my car without any extra charge for it. Southern Longview automotive, y'all have a customer for life and I'm going to bring all my family and friends
I will absolutely use Southern Longview Automotive again. My car needed A-LOT of work and I knew it. It is hard to find honest mechanics these days, but I’ll tell you this, Joe and his team at SLA can definitely be trusted. Before I started driving a rig for a living, I was in diesel mechanics. I know enough to not get screwed or be taken for a ride. That never happened here. Joe was UP FRONT from the get-go about pricing, time & labor costs. My only apprehension was walking in the fire first time because they were new to me, but came recommended by a couple people I knew. I’m glad I came here. It was definitely great to experience constant communication from Joe about my car. Like I said, my car needed a-lot of work. I won’t blink an eye next time my car needs servicing because I KNOW Joe and his team do it right the first time! Thank you Joe, and also to the mechanics. I swear I’ll never let my car need that much work at one time ever again lol)

Joe has been in the car mechanic business 20+ years. It is a tough business. I had a mechanic work on my first car at age 16….within 5 years I had been schooled!
Years later in my 50s, after my Hyundai got above 100k miles, I was on my own out of warranty. I friend in the auto maintenance business referred to try Joe to work on my crankcase oil leak. It took some diagnosis work by Joe and team to resolve the actual issue.
Very timely. Very efficient. And reliably fixed right the 1st time. This note is written 7 weeks after my car was fixed.
Not expensive and the price was discussed first for diagnostic work, & again then price talked about ahead to fix.
I would run a petition for Joe to run as mayor, but then what would Longview do without him there to manage Southern Longview Automotive !!
I picked up a high-performance vehicle with a lot of work done, but let us say it could have been done better. Matt and his team at southern Longview automotive were very professional. They were upfront with not only the prices but the expectations. Matt and his crew took the time to dive into the specific problems relevant to the issue. He was able to tell me all the stuff he saw wrong with it but was able to stay focused on the most pertinent problems. Once the car was ready for me to pick up, he put it on the rack and showed me what he found that could be addressed and the priority it might need. I am not the most knowledgeable about high-performance vehicles. Matt went out of his way to educate me on my questions. Overall I am very impressed with the work they do and the integrity they have. High-performance shops are few and far between in East Texas, and I will return to them once the budget is suitable, LOL. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks, Josiah
Joe and the guys were super friendly and honest. I was in a bind and from out of town. They worked with me and prioritized my vehicle and offered every solution and allowed me to make an informed decision. Their level of workmanship is great. Solid work and customer care. I will recommend them to everyone. And should I ever need service again I will drive the 50 miles just to use this shop again because of the trust they instilled in me.
I can’t say enough good things about Southern Longview Automotive. I was passing through town on the 2nd leg of a 4-day trip East and my car starting flashing ALL the warning signs. I called a few places that couldn’t get me in for a diagnostic but one mechanic highly recommended that I give Southern Longview a call. From the beginning of the call to the diagnosis to the fix, The stress of breaking down on the road, with my dog, and another 1000 miles to go, turned into relief that everything was going to be OK with my first conversation with Dawn, who told me they could get me in right away! The owner, Matt, realizing that I’d be stranded in the midst of a move across the country, did everything in his power (even called to get the part Ubered over from an hour away!) to get me back on the road and reunited with my daughter and son-in-law whom I was traveling with. Matt brought my dog some water, and they even shared the shops pizza with me! The bad experience of a breakdown midtravels, couldn’t have been better! I could only hope to find a shop with this caliber of service, kindness and consideration for the customer and an extremely knowledgeable crew (especially Matt and Bala), in my destination home town in NC!
They are great to work with. They went out of their way to make sure my car was ready for me to go to work. The fact that was even on their mind was a huge thing to me
Great customer service. Honest and good people. I was passing through from out of town and my car broke down. I knew nothing about shops in area and I thank God I found this place. They were upfront and honest about everything every step of the way. They didn't try to cheat me or overcharge me because I was in a bind. They even did extra work I wasn't charged for or even really mentioned. I have since brought my car back and received the same great service. I have even been able to call and ask their opinion about something another shop states my car needs or even price of work. They are so helpful and have really been pleasant in a tough and sometimes costly situation. I'm grateful and will continue to be a customer.

I have been using these guys to service my F150 and Corvette for three years plus and have nothing but good things to say about them. They have kept me informed on any issues they find with the vehicles so the issues can be quickly rectified. My wife had tyre pressure issues while she was out and about in Longview, so she went and saw Joe who immediately sorted the pressures for her. Try doing that at a dealership. So do yourself a favor and give these Guys ago, you won’t be disappointed!!!!!!
My first visit today, I was shopping for a reliable place to take my hand me down Volvo. These guys were awesome! They are very informative and friendly. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy place to take your car.
Brock and Joe are top notch. Fast service, great work, have me an accurate quote on my service and notified me about other issues I needed on my truck, told me what new price was, explained the issue all before they did anything or just charging me at the end at checkout. We came into town for a conference. The closer we got to Longview, the louder the noise got. I new I had to get it fixed right away.
I found these guys and they had good reviews. They did not disappoint me.
When I spoke to Joe he said he could have a look right away. Not only did they fix the problem the same day, they even drove us to the conference with time to spare. Joe was a pleasure to work with!
