Phenomenal service, every single visit. In my experience, SA strives for integrity. They will always opt for the option most *mutually beneficial*. This is what the business/brand is built on. I believe SA is the best in East Texas. They will save you time, money and sanity. Joe and the entire staff are warm, professional, and knowledgable. The garage is super clean and welcoming. They also have all the bells and whistles (lock box, digital estimate, ect) to make your service as smooth and efficient as possible.
Their slogan of 'why buy new when used will do' definitely rings through at Southern Auto Parts.
From the highway, the complex looks rather unassuming - but you can't believe just how much inventory there is out of view, and if you're looking for something, I bet they have it!
And they work with other local shops, so if they happen to not have it, they can get it in a jiffy!

Great customer service and fair pricing. Great salvage experience as far as knowing their inventory, most salvage yards just have no idea if they have the part they just have you search their yard for them.
This place is very expensive for used parts. Most of the parts they have I can buy brand new at rock auto for the same if not cheaper, but when you need a part immediately I guess this is a good choice.
Terrible experience with them. Had to buy an engine for my truck, a 350 sbc. They sold me the more clapped out pos they had. No more than 75 psi compression on any cylinder and 0 on cylinder 1, but it "passed the run out". Just posting for fair warning, I don't want to see anyone else lose their money. I was out of the warranty period by the time I found out.
Worst Experience Ever!!! Front Desk The Hispanic Employees They Have There Rude! & (Im Mexican) Bought A Transmission took it to the Machanic and wasn’t the correct one…. I’m thinking I order it wrong so I returned it which they charge the client a restocking fee of 25% = 120$ okay went to another auto parts to ask for the same transmission just to see & comes to find out this one was the correct one for my vehicle but it was the exact same one I had ordered at southerns… I go back I ask to speak with the boss (Rick McKeeve) to explain what the issue was… he wasn’t having it either he went off telling me that’s what I order ect ect & I told him y’all’s inventory is wrong!! He was like we been in business since 1955! I TOLD HIM that “CONGRATULATIONS!” That has nothings to do with the issue here… but there was another gentleman to the right when you walk-in that was able to find there “MISTAKE” & you can reason with him. Got My Full Refund! I’m here thinking I know I’m not the only person they have done like this to! I’m just the one to speak up! Rick You Think Your Father Mr.Clive would be proud of how you running business, if he is then I can see where you coming from being in business since 1955 ! I Just Look Young But I’m A Boss Too
They are the best part shop for used parts they got everything you needs.they are off the corner of hwy 259 and East Cotton.and they sell for less I love theis services.
They had the transmission I was looking for. One note though, they charge a "Non Cash Adjustment" fee if you pay with a credit card so bring cash. Not a deal-breaker for me. Highly recommended
Great place to grab that part you have to have right now. Pretty good pricing. Staff is friendly and helpful as long as you don't call or show up after 4pm
Worst experience I drove from south Tyler area to Longview tx to pick up a Chevy equinox grill that didn’t exist when I arrived to pick it up .....I called the company before leaving Tyler to make sure they had the part and they were for sure they had it only to arrive to not having my part and wasn’t even given an apology for misleading me to drive that far....,horrible customer service there

They are always helpful and even if they don't have the parts you need they will try to get them for you. Plus, their prices are reasonable. I called ahead to order a wheel for my Toyota and they had it at the desk waiting for me when I got there. It was less than half the cost at other places.
A great place to purchase parts, I've been going there for years, never had b a problem with the used car l parts I purchased. My son is now going to them for his car parts. Thank you for being around all these years.
The guy was extremely helpful and polite. He went out of his way to try and help me find what I need. Especially after other places wouldnt give me the time of day, the guy really showed me that theres still good businesses out there. Great customer service! Keep it up!!!
We purchased a used transmission, took it to our transmission specialist before installing the transmission, he opened the transmission to inspect the clutches to insure the transmission would last. He found the clutches were almost completely gone and had to be replaced. We contacted Southern auto parts and they told us bring it back. They did not want to pay the $94 for a new set of clutches. We drive the 138 miles ONE WAY to bring back the transmission. They told us that since our transmission specialist had opened the transmission they would not accept it back. They said it was "altered". I said inspecting a product before installing it is not "altering" it. They still refused.
They also said the tail shaft had been replaced because it didn't have markings on it. I was standing in front of the guy when he put the markings on the transmission and he ONLY marked the bellhousing.
They were quick to tell me where to look for the part I was needing but they didn't have it. They then directed me to a competitor that might......they will be my first stop if I ever need anything again.
I had to eat some crow on this one. I was looking for an AC part for a 2007 Honda Odyssey and Southern Auto had one. Found it on the web but couldn't get it in time. Southern Auto pulled it for me and still gave me a good price. It worked great.
