We noticed our truck was leaking radiator water a little bit over Christmas while in Dallas. Thought it would make it back home to West Texas with a top off but it didn’t. I googled auto repair near me where we had overheated and stopped on I-20 and found Gordon’s Auto Repair. Called on Saturday after Christmas. He was open and available. He fixed us right up! We had our dogs with us which added to our urgency. Amazing to find an honest mechanic in a small town at the drop of a hat! Thank you so much!! From reading these reviews I think it must have been Bill. Great guy! Highly recommended!
I cannot recommend this shop enough. They are honest, they are fair. They stay in communication with me. I had my car towed there after a break down on the highway and every interaction was professional, and comforting. Even when it had to be moved else where, Bill was honest, and really went above and beyond to help me in any way that he could. I cannot thank him and his shop enough for everything they have done for me. They took what was a very stressful time and did what they could to make it less stressful. Over and Over and Over again i would recommend this shop.
I just purchased a used vehicle and was driving it back to AZ from TX and gear oil was flying everywhere. The local sandwich shop I stopped at had a business card for Gordon Auto Repair, and then I slowly drove about 15 miles from the sandwich shop to get there. I met Bill Reed, the owner, who diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed the issue. I asked Bill how much I owed him, and his response was, "You owe me nothing," and I wasn't going to have it. I gave Bill money, and he gave me back $3 in quarters to clean off the gear oil, and off I went. His service and kindness were second-to-none. I highly recommend Gordon Auto Repair.
If I could give this place 100+ stars I would! Not only did the mechanic get my car up and on the road, he picked my son and I up from bein stranded on the side of the road, waited up late for the tow truck to drop my vehicle off, gave us rides to and from Motel, gave me tow truck recommendations allllll of it! He was a life saver all the way around! I’m soooo grateful!
Came across Bill and his team and the perfect time! They were super communicative and helpful. Did not hesitate to help out! Got me in and out of there super fast, while making sure to keep me company and great jokes! Amazing guys with great hearts! Thank you to Bill and everyone again!
My car broke down on the interstate on the way home from west Texas. Bill was kind enough to introduce us to a tow company and get our vehicle in his shop quickly.
Repair was fairly priced, and Bill was very transparent and gave great updates.
I hope to never have car issues in the future, but if I do, I’ll gladly drive to Gordon to use him again.
So on our way back to Oklahoma my car blew the temperature sensor out on a Sunday. I found this shop on google. He came to his shop and fixed it so we could make it home. He didn’t have to come on a Sunday. I would definitely use this shop again if needed and recommend him.
Everyone was so kind and helpful here! I was traveling from Abilene to the DFW area when a piece of metal started scraping from the bottom of my car in Thurber. These guys were nice enough to drive to me to check it out and lead me back to their shop. They fixed it for me very quickly, and as a young woman traveling alone I felt very safe and comfortable! Bill is truly customer focused. We were having problems with the steering column on our 2000 corvette. We were unable to have the car towed to Gordon Auto so Bill made a special trip out to our house. He solved our problem and our car is back on the road. You seldom get that level of extra effort from businesses these days. Thanks Bill!

I noticed my engine block started to shake at an idle. Took it in to Bill he ran diagnostics and was able to identify a misfire in a cylinder. We discussed solutions, he replaced my spark plugs and wires and corrected my firing order. My '96 Explorer has run like a champ ever since. I will be using him in the future and would recommend him to anyone. Thorough service from someone you can trust. Thanks Bill!
Bill was super kind and helpful, talk about southern hospitality! we got broke down right in Gordon with a leak and Bill was able to get our car the part we needed and get us back on our way and even give us a ride from the hotel we were staying at while we waited for the repairs over labor day!
Bill was awesome. He came to us as our car had no power. He got us running to make it to his place if business. Worked with my car repair professional mufflers on 20th street Battle Creek mi. With them working together it was determined my alternator and labor was covered for replacement. Bill got us in the next morning and had us completed and on the road again in no time. We broke down on I-20 a radiator leak. We called and he arranged for the radiator to be delivered to us. And came out and changed our radiator. Excellent work and told us to be careful and send us on our way. By the time we got to Weatherford the car started overheating again. I thought oh no we're in trouble, so we called this gentleman, he told us he would be right there. In about 45 minutes he showed up. He determined it was a thermostat sticking, and went to the parts store and got a thermostat. It was getting dark and there wasn't much light. It turned out to be a very hard job the thermostat was located underneath the alternator he had to take it off and the serpentine belt. Did a very good job and didn't charge me much. If you have any trouble on I-20 in his area give him a call you won't be disappointed.
