I had a coolant hose issue on my vehicle and there was an issue locating the part due to a back order. The gentleman helping me worked are to find an alternative supplier and found one quickly. He also was very thorough in explaining the issue and how they would fix the problem. I had a really great experience!
Staff is always polite, service is fast and most importantly this place is honest. I got in with people ahead of me and they did an oil change and radiator flush & fill in under an hour. Prices are a blessing in this economy. Shout out Roman who threw in radiator cap no charge, very much appreciated. Mechanic was also very efficient and respectful. 10/10
Took my granddaughters vehicle in for over heating issues. As expected from a care free, happy life living teen she listened to her friends and after all is said and done there was significant damage. I'm not nor do I claim be a mechanic but know enough that when certain parts in a vehicle start to fail it only dominos negatively. Cortez without stutter agreed to reinstall my alternator on my 59 pickup after I told him we were only in town for one more day. He knows his vehicles and I say this because I had called another local shop who after I provided my concern advised they would need to see the truck first Yadi yadi yadi. Even after I told them I had to tow the truck in and all I needed was to get the alternator bolt reinstalled. I told the same thing to Cortez and he advised he was a bit busy but would handle it. That is professionalism and knowledge.

Let me just say, if Google Review allowed six stars, I’d give Cortez Auto Shop a solid seven.
So here’s the story: I took my wife’s car in because it was making some suspiciously expensive-sounding noises. We thought it was the brakes — you know, the usual “cha-ching” diagnosis that ends with a wallet-ectomy. But NOPE! Roman and the crew took a look, and guess what? It wasn’t brake pads. My wife apparently ran over the automotive equivalent of a bear trap, and it bent some kind of frame-thingy (technical term).
Now here’s where Roman enters full superhero mode. Instead of shrugging and charging me $500 and my dignity, he physically straightened it out himself. With his bare hands! (Okay, probably tools were involved, but I like to imagine Roman arm-wrestled the car back into shape like a boss.)
And the cost for this act of mechanical wizardry? NOTHING. Zip. Zilch. Nada. This man just saved us money and our marriage, because if I had to tell my wife it was a $400 “weird noise,” she’d be side-eyeing me into the next decade.
I’m honestly thinking of showing up next time with donuts, coffee, and maybe a fruit basket. That’s the level of appreciation I have.
Roman reminds me of my dad — honest, friendly, and totally not trying to sell me a fake emergency repair like some other shady shops. He sends out texts just to say he’s available for car service — like a caring mechanic pen pal. I half expect him to send holiday cards at this point.

I used to take my car to this place all of the time, they did about $3300 worth of work on my Lexus including brakes, struts CV joints. I’ve had to take my car back to them multiple times for the same noise that I was hearing previously took it back so many times that I gave up, on the problem being fixed needless to say it wasn’t going to get fixed apparently so I stopped going to this particular place . Great people but just poor work this time around
Can’t say thank you enough! My Armada was making this high pitched noise and the dealership quoted me an astronomical amount to fix it. I thought I was going to need a new car! Cortez fixed it for a very reasonable price. They were fast, courteous, and had great customer service! They even texted me a couple days later to make sure everything was still good! It was a great experience!

Usually I have a pleasant experience with Cortez Auto pros league city location. I took my car for a diagnostic test and left with a broken radio and a damaged fuse. The electrical lock system caused me not to be able to unlock my car and I had to pay a lock smith to get it open. Ray was rude and unapologetic. He passively said what I can do is pay $430 for a brand new screen “usually we charge for a diagnostic test” after telling me my radio was broken. He also rudely suggested I go to the junk yard to get a screen and that I am free to go the keys are in the car. Ray never apologized even after I called about not being able to get in my car. I understand people having a bad day so I was polite and thanked him. But I wouldn’t want anyone to experience his poor customer service, insulting comments and lack of respect. I speak Spanish and English anyone could have spoke with me about my car and made better suggestions. I was disappointed today and wouldn’t recommend Cortez Auto pros anymore.
I received really fast and transparent service after having issues with a local dealership shop. I really loved how they checked to make sure I wasn't having issues with my car a few days after receiving service, and then a few weeks after to be sure.
Better price than the other recommended auto shops. They were very helpful and fixed the problem first time. I was having a hard time resolving some issues to get my work truck passed for inspection. One place quoted me about $1,200.00 to try to fix the problem with no guarantee. Roman Cortez was less than half the price and guaranteed it would be fixed. It was and it passed. Super happy. This is my go to mechanic. from now on.
Finding this shop was truly a Blessing for me today. They took a look at my tire that went flat and fixed the issue by plugging it and provided me recommendations and they did it WITHOUT charging me. I appreciated the quick and friendly service.
These guys have been great to me. I was downsized 2 days after I dropped off my hobby car for a new engine. They have let me pay it off. I am sure that I have driven them nuts because it took me almost an entire year, but they have kept smiling and been very professional about it. The situation has been horribly embarrassing for me, but every time we spoke, I left feeling better. The guys are honest. They are friendly. They have extra business from my recommendations to my friends. Their work has been solid. These are the guys who will always get my business.
So I brought my truck up there to get the suspension and tie rod replaced. These guys explained every little detail that needed to be done and got it completed in a very timely manner. The prices were very reasonable. Ray and I spoke throughout the entire repair and he knocked this one out the park. The truck runs like new. They will definitely be my go to mechanic if and when I run into any another issues. Thanks guys!
Honest, fairly priced, and will guarantee their work. When I have my vehicles serviced there, I know I'm getting a job well done. Drop those dealers overpriced and lackluster service visits and make that switch!
Took my girlfriends E-450 Class C Motorhome in for an inspection and oil change. Work was completed in a most timely manner and they even advised me of an engine misfire issue that was picked up on their diagnostic scanner. Was able to take it home and address the issue in time to leave for our camp-out the next day.
Casey & the guys are great, been using them about 10yrs with several different cars/trucks. Always been honest and upfront. Even helped me putting lift kit and LED lights on my golf cart!:)
Brother went with them over discount tire on his new F150 rims & tires, said they were same price and they thew the lift on that as well. So all in all great place.
The guys there are great! They never tell you that you need things you don't and the pricing is reasonable. Friendly and helpful staff who work as quickly as possible to get you in and out. It's my main stop for all of my cars needs.
Top notch guys. Highly recommend. They're honest and hard working. Took my f-150 in on Saturday morning 8 am for a break job. Told me my rear brakes were just fine but the front rotors were shot which I already knew... They got me out at 11 am.

Been doing business with these guys in Alvin for years. They've got a 1 year warranty on their labor which no other shop in my area has. If I have a problem I call Roman and he solves it quick and in a hurry. I drive a lifted 4x4 and they've changed the whole front end out of my truck for half the cost of a 4x4 shop. I'm very pleased with the service and how they treat family and I . Will be doing service with this shop for many more years to come.
I am from out-of-town and had a roadside auto electrical failure. Google maps showed a different mechanic close to me, but when I went there, he recommended these guys to me instead. It is a true testimony when another mechanic recommends a competing shop.
They worked me right in to their busy schedule. They were GREAT, honest, fair and reasonably priced. They diagnosed the problem quickly and correctly. They got the new parts in and had me back on the road as quickly as possible.
If I lived in this area, I would bring all my work to these guys.
They have been honest and fair with me. I have an '02 mustang that has needed work on various occasions. They're window motor replacement was 50% less than commercial chains and they seem more knowledgeable. I trust them & recommend if you need work done.
