Hanson's Automotive IS GREAT! They have worked on 3 of our vehicles, and each time they have addressed the problems in a timely manner. They have done a Timing Belt on my Honda Pilot as well as brakes and an emissions issue. They also took care of a Toyota Pickup that we had, and again took good care of us. Hanson's really cares about making sure his customers are happy and satisfied with their work. I know multiple people that take their cars and trucks there, and everyone I know that goes there are very pleased with their service. I"ve even had them tell me that I could wait to do service on one of my vehicles. At that time I said, "No, you have the truck, let's get it done." They are honest and trustworthy. You can count on Hanson's Automotive. They have saved me a lot of $, but given me GREAT SERVICE each time in return. This is MY MECHANIC!
We took our truck in for an oil leak, picked it up and it continued to leak after we picked it up. Called the shop and they had us bring the truck in again, charged another $250 (they wanted to charge another $500) which I didn’t agree with after already paying the initial $850 when “they were sure” what the problem was. After we paid AGAIN brought the truck home and it began to leak oil worse! We did not bring the car back due to needing my vehicle to get to work and not wanting to get it back with more problems. We basically paid a grand for the problem to be worse! I definitely do not recommend to bring your car here.To respond to the owners comment they never communicated with us that there “was multiple oil leaks”. They originally diagnosed it was the oil pan leaking “supposedly fixed it” continued to leak, brought back to you again and now it’s another place! It was never told to us that it had “multiple oil leaks”. We paid for service and continued to have problems now if your techs misdiagnosed it is not my issue it’s yours. And as far as “discounted” what you aren’t seeing is that y’all were trying to charge us twice after misdiagnosed. Never was it confirmed to us we had “multiple leaks” until bringing back. Why wasn’t it told to us at beginning if that was the case.
04/06/2025 - To owners response: all a lie and here you are still 2 years later making up more things… I’m allowed to post my experience sorry it wasn’t to “your expectations” as your work didn’t meet ours.
Do not go here. They lied and told me there tech had experience with the mds delete for ram. They installed parts incorrectly. Was told the motor failed because of incorrect part, which was a lie. Jacob quite literally made up a part to cover up improper install. Had to tow vechile away in worse condition then when it arrived. Had to pay thousands more to get the vechle fixed after I payed Jacob. Was the worse experience I've ever had at a shop. He also did not offer any help with the tow or any help toward fixing there screw up. DO NOT GO no matter how good there prices are you'll end up paying more to get it fixed somewhere else. edit: Jacob told me the part was wrong. He said he would order the right parts and never did. I waited for months. I was always professional i even paid him despite the fact that my truck was never fixed. I ended up having to get my truck towed on my expense.
Scammed my boyfriend out of $7000 and didn’t correct ANY issue or assemble the parts back together correctly. Took to another shop and there were tons of bolts missing. They had the car for over a week and did absolutely nothing and fixed no issues. Absolutely felt racially motivated and treated us like we didn’t know anything.
Hanson’s has great taken care of my car since I moved to the area. From being sideswiped to a very thorough tuneup before a long drive, they have worked with me, kept me updated and kept me safe on the road. Highly recommend to everyone!
Top marks for honesty and fair pricing. I came here thinking I had a problem with my ignition system because my car wouldn't start and an auto parts store had told me my battery was fine. Hanson's double checked my battery and told me it was bad and needed to be replaced. They were right. A new battery solved my problem. A disreputable garage would have performed a lot of unnecessary repairs and I wouldn't have known any better. I really appreciate Hanson's honesty.
Had a really disappointing experience with this shop. They had my car for a really long time continuing to claim that they were working on it and that they were short staffed. My understanding is that two of them are three mechanics that work there quit and now it’s just the owner. Communication was absolutely atrocious. Every time I talk to the shop I had to call up there to get a status update on my car which generally was pointless. Finally I went to pick up my car After agreeing with the owner that I would pick it up on Saturday morning at 10 AM. I had to have it towed because they hadn’t fixed what was wrong with it. I showed up with a tow truck driver and no one was at the shop. They didn’t open. I called the owner twice and left voicemail messages with the owner. He never returned my calls. I had to send the tow truck driver back the following Monday to pick up my car. Clearly, I had to pay the tow truck drivers twice. The owner of Hanson‘s also tried to charge me for a part that he installed in the car that was faulty or was not installed correctly. When I called him out on it, he removed it from the invoice. There are plenty of other That have good And honest people running them. Go find one of them instead.
I would recommend this garage to anyone needing work done on their vehicle. I was 20 plus hours from when my truck broke down. I got it to Hanson’s and he had me back on the road the next day. Not only did he fix my problem but found two potential problems and corrected them as well. He was up front to the penny what the costs would be and they were extremely pleasant. Thanks to Hanson’s I feel safe traveling back to North Carolina.
I had a fantastic experience getting my car worked on here. Great customer service, the receptionist (I wish I got her name) and Jacob were very friendly, professional and accommodating, and I got my car back later the same day which was convenient. I suspect my old go-to mechanic shop which shall not be named was responsible for the problem I had with my car, although it was minor it warranted me taking it here to get fixed so this will probably be my new go-to mechanic. I also felt like the pricing was very fair, I think most other places including my old go-to probably would’ve charged more. Awesome family-owned local business!
Love this place! I had several different issues come up on my Subaru between December and January and every time I got a really fair price. Jacob made sure everything was explained to me in a way I’d understand, and he would double check every issue. He went above and beyond so now I just have to make up reasons to stop in and see him.
Absolutely love this establishment. Jacob is such a wonderful man to work with. He is very professional and such a gentleman. He fixed my car and did extras that he didn’t have to. Life happens and I ended up with an issue with one of my wheels and when I brought it back in they took care of the issue no questions asked, that’s something you don’t see often these days. Very happy with my experience here.
I went to multiple other automotive shops for the same issue. Wasted almost $2k trying to get it fixed with mechanics refusing to listen to me. I got recommended to take my car to Hansen's, and it was one of the best mechanic experiences I've ever had. Jacob is honest, fair, and an all around awesome person. I won't take my car anywhere else now, not even for oil changes!
Edit: I forgot to mention how amazing and sweet the receptionist is! When she went out for lunch, she offered to pick something up for me and ended up giving me a ride home. This shop is just made of amazing humans.
The A/C in my vehicle was blowing hot and cool air but was not getting cold. I took it to get it checked out and by the time I got out of there it was back to blowing cool air. The gentlemen (he might be the owner) was honest and very knowledgeable. His secretary was very welcoming and we received amazing customer service. This auto shop cares for their customers, they are trustworthy and honest.

Jacob who I believe is the owner is SO sweet and very Professional. I had came to his shop with my check Engine light on. Jacob Immediately jumped in to my car and started going over things with with me.
I had gotten so many different price rates and he was so Reasonably priced!! He took the time to explain to a T what was going on with my car. Also fixed it in such a timely manner. Hands down the best Auto shop I've ever dealt with! I won't ever take my vehicles anywhere else!
