Will never come back to this place. Copper is almost 4 dollars a pound. I gave them 230 pounds of insulated copper and they only gave me 50 cents per pound. What a rip off. Then on top of that they said they would take my steel but not pay me for it, cool whatever......then they made me pull the steel out of my truck with no gloves while they stood there.

Don’t deal with this shop they play games they sell you something then once on the way they wanna sell it to highest bidder he is not a man of his word and that shows a lot. What’s a man without his word …… nothing And he claimed to be the owner there are the screen shots he playing possum now

Great guys, I have always been used to having to unload a truckbed full of scrap myself. These guys are on it and help out a lot. They are fair and close to prices I see anywhere else. Been using them for over 10 years and made a relationship of them recognizing me. Since they know I am not scrapping for the wrong reasons, I will keep going to them!

I called because I have an old refrigerator and I am so pleased at how honest the person was on the phone. I understand why this company has great ratings on Google.

After feeling like I was ripped off.. I got pretty mad and made an ass of myself.. but on my way home the actual owner called me and told me his guys had made a mistake and that he had another ticket ready and waiting for me.. still not sure how he got my number..

What a rip off!! They tried to give me $0.39/lb for the exact material I got $0.70/lb for somewhere else 2 days ago. I even showed him the receipt. I had them load it up so I can take it to the other place. This is closer and more convenient but for almost twice the price I’ll drive the extra 15 miles. Crazy.

Had you get rid of a couple buckets of brass. Quick, easy, and helpful. Gave a fair price when I compared it to the standard rates I found online.

Small business gem! Chris was fantastic, fair pricing for scrap metal, and I was in and out of there in a jiffy. I wish I would have known about this place sooner instead of dealing with other lousy customer service in the area at other scrap metal recyclers. I Pulled up on a Monday late morning with no line. His team member walked right up and got to business, there was no waiting around at this facility even though he was short staffed. You can guarantee you will be seeing me again Chris, thank you for your professionalism and answering all the questions I threw at you!

I am very grateful for Almetco for providing a place, free of charge, to drop off large appliances for recycling. When my 20 year old treadmill stopped working properly, I discovered that the city's electronic recycling program doesn't cover large appliances and most businesses charge to pick up and recycle. I wasn't looking for someone to pick it up or to pay me for it, I simply wanted to drop off and not be charged to do so. While Almetco does pay for some items, they do not purchase large appliances. They are very clear on what they pay for--both on their website and when talking to them. For my purpose, they did exactly what I needed. They took my large appliance for free and they helped unload this rather heavy treadmill. I'm very grateful that they provide this service. Thank you!

Great business! Answered the phone before they open and me me know their wire prices. Owner was honorable, and scale was correct! Best place to go!

Just left and when my cans were weighed in bags they weighed 17 lbs. after he took the bags and dumped them into their cans it only weighed 15 lbs. so they are cheating people out of one pound on each scale. Their scales are not adjusted correctly and when confronted he asked if I wanted the cans back and I said yes so they had to put all my cans back and I refused to use this place again. It will cost me more in gas togo somewhere else. It’s the principle . They are crooks

Prices are junk. I get better prices where I scrap my steel. I have them a shot and left disappointed. I had a barrel full of aluminum odds and ends and paid it as breakage at .05cents/pound?! It was clean aluminum and I would have gotten more for it throwing it in the steel pile at .08cents/pound… won’t be back.

Excellent place! Used a few times now, great attitudes, willing to help, run the way a small, local business should be: friendly, efficient, effective. Great location. Looking forward to doing business with again!

We could not be happier with the great service we received!! I would only use Almetco Recycling and Chris to handle our scrap metal needs. Thank you so much for the above and beyond service and patience!!!

This guy will deduct $.25 cents for every platic bag you bring aluminum cans in from your total, says he dosen't buy plactic bags (a plastic bag does not weigh $.25 cents worth). He whats you to bring cans in bags, not containers to be weighed as tare weight, so it is easy for him to deal with them. Take your business else where!

Great scrap yard. Small, local and honest. They don't do any ferrous metal scrap. Mostly copper, aluminium asked batteries

Helpful friendly staff. Quick in and out. Convenient Lewisville location saves you the hassle of driving into Dallas. Local family owned & operated. Great experience every time I go!

Only got 1/3 the going price for batteries. Got my money.. Didn't check the amount until I got home, they shorted me $10, partly my fault for not checking immediately after getting the cash.

Worst prices in town. They tried to give me .85 for #1 copper insulated. I sold the same copper in Mckinney for $1.70 lb. It is worth the drive to go elsewhere!

I have been doing business with Chris and his father for over 5 years. I have never had any problem with him or his scales. Chris has always been nice to everybody that comes into Almetco even when some customers are not always nice to him. -- Joe

He gave me a receipt that said $0.50 a pound for these batteries there was 168 pounds of them. When he paid me he said oh no it's $0.50 each. America's first metal in Dallas pays $0.40 a lb. Just another small-town scam artist
