I brought my Mercedes-Benz E350 to 5th Gear because it was showing an “Auxiliary Battery Malfunction.” The car was driving when I took it there.
After 4 days, they called me to pick it up. When I tried to leave their parking lot, the dashboard displayed “Do Not Shift Gear – Visit Dealership,” and the car would not come out of Park. It became undrivable right there in their parking lot. I did not even make it home.
I immediately took a picture of the dashboard warning and showed it to them as proof.
Instead of taking responsibility or properly checking the issue, I was told this was a problem that was already there. That does not make sense because the car was clearly driving when I brought it in.
It felt like going to the hospital walking in and leaving in an ambulance.
I am simply asking for accountability and a fair resolution. Customers deserve transparency, honesty, and responsibility when something goes wrong.
I had such a great experience with this dealership! They made everything so easy and convenient. They picked up my car, completed the service, and dropped it back off to me freshly washed — which I truly appreciated.
Not only was the service smooth and hassle-free, but I also got a really great price on my oil change. The customer service was excellent from start to finish — friendly, professional, and communicative the entire time.
It’s hard to find service like this these days. I’ll definitely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality service and great value!
I was a little hesitant to take my sons car BMW 650 to a auto repair shop as opposed to the dealership but I took a chance because I really appreciated that they picked up the vehicle and informed me ahead of time that nothing would be started without approval or a vehicle diagnostic. Alex was extremely honest and forthright about what should be done and what could wait if needed. Fast forward all of the recommended repairs were done within the week and Alex was super helpful in getting our vehicle. They were upfront and honest with price, cheaper on parts than the dealership and very respectful.
I definitely recommend if you don’t want to go to the dealership. I know some will say saving money on the back end will cost you more later but if the dealerships should be ashamed upcharging so much for parts.
5th Gear offers 5 star customer service. Transmissions light went on my Honda Pilot and they picked it up to take to their shop. James called and said I think it may be covered under national emissions act and contact the Honda dealership. Saved me $3,000. Wouldn’t take an $ for the inconvenience and even brought the car back to my house. The INTEGRITY and HONESTY is mind blowing and I will be using them in the future for any issues! They work on BMW, Hondas, Toyotas most foreign car makers.
I drove my first car up there to Fifth gear a few years ago and liked it so much, I brought all my cars in for service, repair & tuneup including family’s cars. What a professional environment ! I felt like I was touring a race team facility . Very well put together and techs are top notch. I can see why they have such a professional team! A facility like that attract the best.
Fifth Gear is a great business. I’ve used them twice and been completely satisfied. They have found things with my car I didn’t know about that help keep me safe. Highly recommend.

Changing my review below. Work was not done right the first time and had to take it back, which is opposite thier phone message. Also "supposedly" found two new problems that wasn't "supposedly" found during the 2000 point inspection the first time. Feels silly like I was being nickle and dimed to death. I was VERY unhappy but I will say their service managers didn't let my attitude get to them, they stayed professional, and I'm sure the next rich jaguar or Tesla that came in they could care less about me anymore. I'll find a more modest place to take my vehicle for service...

The cost of repairs on high-end luxury foreign vehicles is what it is you can't get away from that. However the customer service of these guys is priceless. Excellent courteous professional communicative and a level of kindness that is rare. I walked in frustrated and they knew exactly how to handle it and I walked away completely happy and satisfied. The cost of car repairs is real but these guys will walk you through it and help you stay calm and sane.
5th gear is amazing, checked out my car and then offered a great warranty on their work. They will be the last mechanic you will ever need, don’t go anywhere but 5th gear.
Isaiah and James were excellent. They gave me a fair quote for the work that was needed. They did not do any work that was not required. And they kept me updated on the progress of the repairs. Greatly appreciated and I highly recommend this mechanic.
Isaiah was awesome to work with as my advisor, kept me up to date throughout the entire process. Brought my 2000 Trans Am WS6 in for a transmission 4L60-Slippy diagnosis, called me within a day to let me know that everything looked good, but the transmission was definitely showing early signs of mechanical failure, which explained why the issue came and went a bit. Got the trans rebuilt, turn around time was quick and the car now drives like a boss. I will definitely be working with 5th Gear again, especially if I get to keep working with Isaiah, he made the entire experience likely the best I’ve ever had working with a repair shop.
These people do great work and are super transparent and honest. I was happy to give them my business and expect to be a return customer in the future. Great job Fifth Gear!

Not even two weeks later, my trucks radiator has a massive hole punched into it. Their tow truck picked it up from Roanoke around 1 that afternoon and I was back behind the wheel by the following morning.

Literally the best. The guys at fifth gear are so nice, and accommodating. They always are pleasant to work with and they go the extra mile for customer convenience every single time our vehicle go in for service or repair. They are fast, responsive and competent. Pricing is fair for a shop that specializes in European and high performance vehicles but I feel like I get more value for my money, much better than the dealership (looking at you Jaguar). They have earned our continued business, no matter what we drive. Shout out to the awesome service advisers and drivers!
Great service. Got my classic BMW 325ci sorted out with lots of much needed maintenance and general upkeep. It’s like a fresh start for this collectible convertible. Fifth Gear was the only shop in the area willing to work on it. They did a great job!
Fifth Gear - Argyle was a really good auto repair shop to work with. My service advisor, James, was an excellent communicator and very informative in explaining details and options for all the repairs necessary on my older vehicle. A nice looking, professional and clean shop. I stopped by without an appointment to have my brakes checked out since they make noise in mornings and they did a free inspection on my Mustang to let me know what else it might need. Turned out the brakes did not need to be replaced at all and they just needed some new hardware that was rubbing. I didn't think that with such low mileage my car would need anything but they showed me and gave some ideas on service by mileage and also what to look for coming up with my car. It is nice to find a shop that treats you like a person/customer and not a dollar sign$$$$.
Very nice facility, one of the nicest shops that I have seen inside. From the outside you would not think this is an auto repair place. They have a small waiting area that is convenient if you're getting an oil change and want to wait on it. When I stopped by they had four cars in the shop and were able to fit me in to get my alignment checked out. They work in everything from BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Lexus to Ford and Chevy truck.
