Great customer service today, no line at all. The team was very helpful especially since it wasn't busy!

Clerk told me .08-16cents/pound for cat5 cable????? Talk about a ripoff

We called before going to get prices for copper wire (bare v insulated) we got two prices over the phone at 20 cent difference. It turned out to be an .80 cent difference per pound. They need to give right prices out and learn the terminology.

I called around to get cast aluminum prices. Everywhere was 65 cents a pound but these guys SA recycling wants to pay 30 cents a pound. How is that possible to pay less than 50% of what everyone else is paying sounds like these places just a rip-off to me

Brought in at least 60lbs of short iron they weighed it at less than one pound! Crazy, not worth it what so ever, scammed the hell out of me Edit: called and the person who answered was very rude and insisted that it “wasn’t his problem”

Since switching ownership the prices aren't what they once we're it used to be fair pricing now it's not

Very good yard the workers are respectful and get u in and out quick and the cashier's are always knowledgeable and nice just wish they would help unload the tin out of the vehicle otherwise best yard I'd ever been to

Employees are nice and quiet helpful. The main downfall is that you have a very good chance of puncturing a tire because of all the nails, screws, etc. It would be nice if someone used a metal detector and picked them up regularly.

Honestly, I love this place. They are "cool" to you if you are "cool" to them. Usually good, fair prices, however, I have experienced times when they group metals together as "brakage" so they can getaway with paying lower rate. Feel ripped off! Great customer service if you are polite& act right! However, they don't tolerate b.s. Be prepared to do square business with them so you can get in & out! Tho they don't mind giving assistance, employees don't have time to lollygag! Usually busy fast-paced. I appreciate their concrete roadway unlike some other muddy scrap yards, however, still need to watch out for all kinds of road hazard metal pieces/sharp metal, which isn't good for tires. Make sure you have ID & know their requirements/ guidelines! Good scrap & recycle facility overall; convenient location for me! Thanks!

Scales were inaccurate, prices not posted, and they dumped your materials into a huge bin before you could say yes or no to the price. Which is half that of all other local competitors. Crooks!!

The WORST customer service in DFW!!!! Today was the second time I've had a bad experience. Told manager on duty I wouldn't do business there again and he didn't care. Asked for additional help at the counter and the girl just wouldn't reply. Ms. Perkins if you see this please know that I've tried calling for you. Hillary called back - she doesn't care either. As a business owner myself.....do better.

My go to scrap metal yard usually pay more than other places and get you in and out pretty quick. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because there are 2 employees that can be rude at times.

Great place to do business with. The owner runs a tight ship with customer service and safety held at the utmost of importance. I’ve been going here three times a week for over a year and have received nothing but respect. The line is long sometimes but that’s a good thing, right? Everyone is making money. I highly recommend this place.

The price they offered on the phone was higher than what they offered when I arrived. I got very frustrated over their aluminum offer. The man with a very crooked back at the scale offered 30 cents a pound for my aluminum at about 4 pm. I had two types. I had a barrel of mixed and I had a fair amount of clean extruded aluminum. I took it to a competitor before quitting time the same day. They paid 70 cents a pound for the clean extruded aluminum. They paid 40 cents a pound for the mixed aluminum in the barrel. The lot at Lake June was not near as clean. I was concerned about flats. Their competition had a much cleaner lot.

I have been going to Lake June scrap metal for many years not just to sell metal but to purchase Aluminum and Stainless tubing because I make custom wind chimes they are good people there fair and they're honest I've never had an issue or problem with anyone there and Everyone is always been extremely friendly to me. 6/28/22 Nothing has changed about this place. Everyone is still very polite and nice and very respectful. Thank you Lake June Scrap!

I have been going here on a regular basis for 2 years. I am not sure what it is, but something always goes wrong with the last part on the copper counting. It is rare that it gets marked accurately and on occasion, I have noticed a difference in how the guys are more helpful to others if they speak Spanish. (Js.)

Being one of the few scrap yards that sells to the public I decided to come to lake june scrap metals. After walking there entire yard searching for a squirrel cage fan for an ac/heater I found one. I guess the guy at the scale thought I was new to the scrap business(I've been a scrapper for the last 8 years so I know the business) because he tried to charge me 25 dollars for the fan. When I asked why it was so expensive he said tin prices are up to 35 cents a pound and that he was actually doing me a favor because he could be charging me 50 cents a pound because of the electric motor attached. Like I said I know the business and that he was trying to scam me so I said no thanks. After I left I called them to ask for a quote on prices of tin and electric motors. Guess what, tin was selling for 6 cents a pound and electric motors 15 cents a pound. Avoid this place they will scam you

Good prices and good service, only the guy on the small scales his name is Jesus, he’s really rude, I try to talk to him about my scrap items and he don’t answer my questions and stay quiet,he think he owned the scrap yard!

I brought two trailer loads of scrap iron over there and I come up way short on the weight. I wait before I got there and after I left I weighed again. Both times I was over 1,800 lb light. Somebody needs to get in there and recertify those scales. Are they need to get a new scale Man one. Maybe that's their practice to cheat everybody.

Took 9 big industrial bags of crushed cans ,said it was exactly 100 lbs, I know it had to be more than that , looked they had objects under the scale to prevent accurate reading, scale will only read up to certain weght then it bottoms out on objects under it. I had forgot to look under the scale, last time I brought cans in they had the same thing objects under the scale. I had forgot to look , I save my cans ,and bring in a truck load. Only good thing is it is closest witch boils down to not having to drive far to be ripped off. If you go here stand on the scale to see if is accurate before placing your scrap on the scale. clear out their objects.

Been there a couple of times and had no problem. Last time I was there the mexican working the front was acting crazy. On top of that he could hardly speak English. I will not be back. They need our scrap to resell. No reason anyone needs to put up with that attitude.

I think you get 2 different experiences selling and buying. We LOVE to go digging and finding all kinds of awesome things for our projects for next to nothing and they ate always really nice and helpful when we ask them for it. We love going

They pay cheap . i went there to recycle bras s. According to the weight scale I had a hundred and sixty seven pounds. When I went to cash my ticket in they paid a dollar 20 for brass. I called another place and they were paying 2.09. I know I should have checked around first but this one with the closest I'll never be going back again

This place sucks. When you are in need of help no one will offer or even ask what you need. They will try to tell you that your aluminum, tin, and copper is metal. So they would not have to pay you the right price. They will rip you off. They did not even pay me for my copper.
Apr 28, 2018 -
Honestly thus guys make lots of money because they do not pay the correct values for metal and also even if you know how heavy your load is on scale it always come short, I test them with copper wire ans also with aluminium sheets, why were you trying to lay for thin? I am not kidding to prove what I was saying i took some ac adapter with copper, aluminium and low grade board and they pay thin for everythin like I said. Here are the pics. A big dollar and 32 cents of course all the cable wire took it to a different scrap yard.

nice folks, a Dallas institution, and a great resource - feel good about recycling AND get $$$ ... they sell as well as buy making them a GREAT resource for project materials - and they, somewhat unbelievably, allow one to browse the (very active) working yard ... but of course don't expect it to be a Galleria shopping experience ;-)

Only reason they recieved a star is because i had to give it to leave a comment. How can you take aluminum and only pay me for tin. I took 180# an commercial ac unit, two chain link gates and aluminum facer scraps they marked it all as TIN ??? paid me four dollars Can You Say RIP OFF bet I will never give them my business again.
Oct 04, 2016 -
They grab/assaulted me to retrieve their paperwork showing they cheated me on aluminum. Even when they put their own weight on scale, it showed wrong. Said they forgot to zero out scale. If go there, take a witness to their CHEATING and someone to PROTECT yourself. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN

Took 250 lbs of cans and was paid for 75 lbs, complained to them and was threatened to have the cops called. I couldn't get my cans back because they immediately tore the bags and threw them to the machine. I took short iron as well and was paid for tin. The old guy at the scale kept looking through my truck windows like if he was looking for someone. I would highly recommend Oak Cliff metal. You can actually see the scale and they pay you more for your scrap.
Jun 04, 2016 -
They will rip you off. They never place your bags of cans ALL THE WAY on the scale, leaving parts of the bags hanging off. They also mark everything as "tin". Check the slip you get. If you brought anything in besides aluminum cans, they will buy it as tin, no matter what it is. Then they get offended and tear up if you use any kind of profanity if you have to correct them. Best bet is take your stuff somewhere else to sell. LAKE JUNE SCRAP AND METAL IS A RIP.OFF.
