I had a great experience today. It was a super fast and efficient process. Be sure to have your ID and cash at hand. The guys were super sweet. They are not allowed to accept tips but appreciate water, Gatorade, or cookies. I will make sure I have those with me next time.

Such helpful people, Even helped back up my truck. So thankful to have this kind of help with the wooded debris that we enjoy year round!!

Very rude worker, asked what I had after checking my ID, did not acknowledge what I told him and immediately walked around to the back of my suv. Windows are dark, so knowing he couldn’t see in the back, I opened the hatch, when he literally yelled at me “I didn’t say to open it yet!!!” Even his coworkers were shocked and were very polite to overcompensate for him. This guy needs to be in the back, not upfront with the public.

If you have your ducks in a row with everything sorted etc. before you get there, it’s a surprisingly enjoyable experience. The people are great and everything seems well organized - better than I’ve seen in multiple other states.

These workers are terrible! It’s been nothing but horrible experience the last two visits. I swear these guys hate the jobs and want to act like they are on some kind of power kick. I pulled in at 4:29om because I got stuck in traffic my friend who has stage 4 breast cancer and was in the middle of a move to be closer to her dr’s has to drop off two mattresses pulled in at 4:31pm and the supervisor REFUSED to help us. I completely understand about people wanting to get home but 1 minutes past your closing time of 4:30 pm and you can’t make an exception. It wouldn’t have even taken 2 mins to unload. I can see why these idiots work there cause they probably wouldn’t be hired any place else. Karma will come your way guys. Just try to be nice to people cause you never know what someone is going through.

Militant, unfriendly. “GET BACK IN YOUR CAR!!!” Well, how am I to show you what needs to be recycled? Really weird and unfriendly. I almost feel like I would rather burn my recyclables in my driveway rather than drive over here and give it to these guys. Disappointing.

Guys are helpful, and friendly. They empty out the back of truck. Been here 4 times already and no issue.

Great service! I am always greeted by friendly workers with a smile on their faces. They unload for you and are respectful of your vehicle. I'm lucky to live in Montgomery County!

This is one of the best recycling centers in Montgomery County. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Please review the website for additional information.

Great place for junk - they’re helpful and will tell you what you can and cannot dump.

Very friendly staff! They unload for you as you stay in your vehicle. Such an awesome place, I had my little boys with me and they got to watch the guys unload my truck bed. Super convenient

I live 45 minutes away from this recycling center, raced to it as fast as I could, arrived at 11:32 and was told they were closed for lunch. I was IN the center at the recycling station, would have taken 10 seconds to unload and he wouldn't do it. I prefer to live in a community where human beings are nice and help each other out. The man was right next to my car AND the recycling bins.... 10 seconds at 11:32, wouldn't have taken ANY time away from his lunch. Some people just prefer to be jerks I guess. Congratulations guys, you succeeded.

Be sure and check times, bring ID and a check book or cash in case there is a charge for your item. This is a great service of the county.

This morning, Jan 2, 2024, I showed up at 10:30 am with two weeks of recycle only to see the the chain link entrance closed yet workers inside going about their business. Hand written on the posted hours sign said they were closed Jan 2. No way, Jan 2 is not a Montgomery Co. holiday. So I called and was told, “we needed to have a meeting this morning but will open at 12:30”. Thanks for updating the public as to your “ad-hoc” meeting on the website…NOT!!!!

Not sure what changed. Been coming here for years dropping off stuff without issues. Came today and went completely different. Guy I spoke with was very argumentative, and rude. Never had issues before with things I dropped off till now. When I questioned them on it they kept listing off more and more things that had been accepted in the past. eventually they said they wouldn’t do it and I could go to a landfill. It’s a shame our taxes pay for pisspoor attitudes.

After going to the wrong drop off and being directed here, I was immediately berated by a worker for not knowing the service cost $5. Its not a big deal to go get money, but the way this was handled was inappropriate. Like sorry I didn't know, the other spot in Conroe told me to drop off my bulk trash here? Dude was not facing customers when I got back and he's lucky; I was going to rip him a new crass whole for speaking to anyone like they're trash.

Very rude. You'll need to show your Montgomery county ID and have cash on hand. They are working in the heat so they deserve some slack, one star for that, but the whole setup is designed to be stressful.

I was so happy to find a recycling center near the vacation place our family rented during Thanksgiving week with our family. However, despite checking their hours, several times, we arrived and found they were closed until Monday and were not able to do the recycling. It looked like it would’ve had just what we needed had it been open.

This is the best recycling center in Montgomery County. They accept and recycling for free all plastics, yes, #3-7, plastic bags and Styrofoam! I was in and out in 2 minutes. I didn't even have to get out of the truck. The gentlemen were very professional. I didn't have to spend 30 minutes of my time sorting everything and putting them into separate locations. Best of all there was no nagging, no one griped about the donut box. I wish all of the recycling centers in Montgomery County were like this one. I really don't understand why the different precincts have different rules for the recycling centers. It would be better for the people of Montgomery County if the different precincts worked together to provide this level of service at all of the centers. We will be driving the extra 10 miles to do our recycling here.

I visited the recycling center for the first time to drop off some household items. The gentleman that helped me was very pleasant. He let me know how the process worked and what to expect (the hours and what items could be dropped off). It is very rare to speak with someone who genuinely wants to help and is very passionate about their job. He even provided a brochure for me to keep in my car just in case I forgot what he told me.

I don't know what problems or expectations other people are having, but this is the best recycling center in the area. I couldn't even ask for better. Drive up, show your ID (confirm Montgomery county), they unload within seconds, drive off. Simple, friendly, quick. It's free, so I don't know what items people are trying to recycle that cost them, maybe electronics? I just put plastics in one bag, paper and cardboard in another, glass in one, and metal in another. I asked the workers and they confirmed -- you don't need to sort the specific types, like #1, etc. plastics. Just put everything in bags to make it easy and you're done. I've tried other places but you have to sort the specific materials, they reject cetain types, or you have to walk the place yourself and manually recycle everything. This place is most convenient. And most of the time I'm the only car, so there's never a wait. It's also a government facility, so obviously it's closed on holidays. Also watch out for their lunch break when they're closed, but otherwise reliable.

Excellent resource for Montgomery County residents to recycle! Their lunch hour is from 11:30 to 12:30. For a reasonable fee, they also take heavy trash & chemicals/paints etc, & they do the work off-loading. But check their website for scheduling before taking you stuff there.

These folks were super friendly and even helped unload my car! Showed a utility bill to prove residency as I was dropping off moving boxes for my parents who are locals. That seemed to be okay with the guy checking IDs.

Possibly the rudest customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’m no snowflake and I understand someone hating their job at the garbage dump, but this dude needs some serious charm lessons. Aside from that the facility is a great community resource (hence the non-zero number of stars)

I love the cleanliness and convenience of this recycling center. There's only one problem...the guys are rarely masked up. If I have to roll down my window to show I.D. and the attendant is standing right next to me without a mask, that is not cool. When they lift the back of my SUV to pull the recycle bins out they should be masked up then, too. C'mon guys! We're in the middle of a pandemic. Please, put your masks on. Thank you!

Dropping off chemicals and paint is done at a separate building from other recycling. When coming down Pruitt road, keep an eye out for the sign leading you to that building on the left. Don't worry if you miss it though, the folks that work there are very nice and direct you where you need to be. Simply pull up inside the building and stop. Someone will come to the car and check your ID (this is only for Montgomery County residents) and unload your car. You don't have to get out of your car or do anything else! Dropping off chemical-stuff does require a fee. They accept cash and checks. This place makes it easy to recycle those crummy paint cans!
