You can go wherever you want but I know this place makes it quick & easy. I went down the road & they want more than a driver license for small scale precious metals. I'm trying to get it & go by golly! Traffic is hectic & times a wasting
Showed up 15 minutes before they closed and they shut the gates right in front of me. All i had to drop off was a refrigerator. Wouldn’t even come talk to me and just waved me off. If the posted closing time is not actually when you close then you should change what’s posted. Because of this I’ve wasted an hour of my time driving out there and back. Would not recommend this place.
Price per pound was not the problem. They put the battery's I had on a pallet that already had alot on it so even if you watching scale you don't know how much it was. Then dumped all 8 clear plastic bags of cans in large plastic buckets and then put on scales so he can take off the weight of them and you don't know how much they weigh. So why not just put my stuff on there and you would know exactly what you got. If your doing stuff to avoid people from being able to know then it makes you look bad. And after reading you other reviews I would be willing to bet that yall are ripping people off...
I went to this placethey are. I'm going to explain the title on the vehicle said 4200 pounds. The vehicle gross weight is 5600 pounds. Best from the fact on the door. I had also Add it up, never 2500 pounds inside of the Van. He said his scales I'll wait forty five hundred pound b grosss They do not allow you to see the scales weight These people are a rip-off. I give update. I'm going to weigh in at a different place.
If I could give them a negative review I would I have several rent houses I put the same make and model refrigerator s. In all 3 houses one went out last month I pulled condenser and copper out sold it to bills in Denison Texas the fridge it self weight 300 lbs today I went to Texas meta with a fridge totally match the other left condenser in everything in tact said it weighed 200 lbs gave me 12 dollars. They are a bunch of croock never been to recycle center that did not ask for
If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would. Physical facility is too hard to get in and out. Forget about unloading a trailer because you can't turn around on scrap lot past scales. Scale man is slow to wave you on or off and does not communicate clearly. Prices are low. He took in several pieces of pro audio gear from me with huge copper power coils in them and then just paid me scrap price -- not even e-waste price. Owner is rude and acts like he's doing you a favor by being open for business. I come here ONLY when I miss the open business hours for Cyclone (used to be OK metals) recycling.
I would not go back. It was very difficult to get to the actual facility after turning off from 380. Getting out was a nightmare. Short narrow driveways; precipitous falloff into ditches beside them. No place to turn around (think 8-point turn) bcs no second exit. Dirty; lots of debris on driveways. Difficult to find anyone to talk to about where the exact drop-off point was; and of course, even more difficult to find someone to pay you! Nope. mb
I've had my ups and downs with this place, Some days better than others. They really do care about their customers and will help you out. In this business you can't be shy about asking and putting your foot down. Metal prices fluxuate throughout the day. Be greatful and possibly a little graceful never know how good or bad a business is doing. For those who don't like them be greatful you have other options. Always always call any scrap yard before going and ask them questions about any questions you may have. the way they weigh things, prices, how they operate there. Every business is ran just a lil different.
Their scale was broken a few weeks ago when we took a load of metal. This kind of thing can happen and is not the reason for the poor review. Here’s the deal. Today we had another load of metal to recycle. We called ahead and asked if they were open and if their scale was fixed. They said yes. We drove there immediately and when we got there the scale was still broken. I told the guy in charge that we had just called about this and he said “I don’t remember that” and just turned and walked away. Well bad service was a blessing in disguise because it led us to discover OK Recycling less than a mile east of there. So much better service and actually friendly and acted like they appreciate our business. I have been going to this place for years, they have always been less than friendly. I will not be going back again.
Wouldn’t recommend this place for steel. You can’t see your weight on the way in or way out. I had a truck and trailer full and only got $120?! NO THANKS
This place is great. Sold some batteries today. Service was quick and the rate was great deal. Would definitely recommend this place. This will be my goto location for recycling metal from now on.
Last resort.. make sure to wait until the owner finally..strolls out to signal you've been weighed or you won't get paid ! A Dirty little trick he plays on the unsuspecting younger generation I'm told. How many pennys a pound does

Stopped in here to sell some metal we had lying around and it was a small place but they got us in and out quickly. The man who runs it was really nice and helpful. You should check it out for your metal disposal needs.
Wouldn't recommend as the prices are insanely low. Brought in 200lbs of cast steel, and 16lbs of iron scrap and they only paid $13...
If you're simply looking to recycle, they will simply yell orders at you. Even if it's your first time there. Goodneas, just avoid.

Its was really nice the guys came to my car and help me with the stuff I had , they told me what they wanted and where to put it , very nice crew , I was in and out , I will go back to them the next time I need to get ready of scraping,
Took a trailer load of various stuff and walked away with $98. It was an easy transaction and everyone is upfront about prices. We will be going back again with another load soon.
David the owner is a good guy and easy to deal with
And the guy's that he has working with him are always very helpful in the unloading of large objects
After several dealings in the past few years, I know what to expect and have no surprises. I feel like I am treated fairly, but at first was not sure. Basically, do not expect these guys to be conversational. They don't chat. If you ask the right question, you can probably get a yes or no. You have to be specific when talking about metals such as copper, bronze, aluminum, and steel. They refer to all steel as "metal", which shows up on their receipts as "tin".
You can call on the phone in advance and get information on the going rates for the various metals.
My latest haul did OK by bringing in a car radiator, several dead notebook computers, starters and alternator, old copper pipe and brass water faucets, and various aluminum scraps, as well as hundreds of pounds of bed frames, bicycles and other scrap steel.
I don't see what people are upset about. They post their prices at the scale. Yes, there are places that pay a little more. Wanna drive 60 miles to get there? Keep in mind, McKinney has higher taxes than Hutchins so the operation cost are higher so they have to compensate. Simple math
Horrible business, if it can be called that. I went with all the paper work to present a catalytic converter system (2 catalytic system form a blazer I replaced). I know how much they are worth since I looked up what other places were paying in the area. About 104 for the rear and 60 for the front. Thinking about 130 was a fair price so I didn't have to drive to Dallas. They tried to tell me that it wasn't a catalytic, and was just exhaust and worth 2 cents per pound. Never never never go to these dishonest people, ever.
Been dealing with this company since 2008 . I sort all metals prior to taking them to be weighed. Always received a fair price. The guys there always unloaded the truck, all I do is watch the scales and collect.
If I could give negative stars I would. The place is a joke the little guy is a jerk, not to mention that I believe that he operates with broken or tampered with scales. He also has you to pile all of your metals (copper 1-2, brass, etc.) together. My feeling is that this doesn't allow for accurate weight of each item or at the least leaves room for much error. Also upon leaving I was followed by the police as to insinuate I did something wrong or unjust. All this is just my opinion on the first and only experience I've had with the tx metal company.
3 ton trane air conditioner, 50 gallon water heater and random other scrap metal scored us a whopping $23. Didn't even pay enough for gas and lunch. JOKE.
