Extremely weird but fun experience in the middle of Texas on our way to the south. If you like a little discomfort, but a complete unique experience this would be a great stop.

The most incredible hidden gem of a up-cycled resort. Texas Tiny homes brings a unique, artsy and natural comfort of home. For me I'm taken back to my childhood dream fantasy land that I created in my backyard while making mud pies. I love this place.

Awesome experience! We stayed in vicky too and it was such a lovely house. Everything worked really well. The air conditioning window unit, small fridge, a heater, shower all were in good working condition and the beds are really comfortable. Honestly, better than some hotels I've slept in. There was coffee and snacks in the kitchen and the owners are super nice. My kid loved "the little forest house", canoeing and all the animals. I loved having my coffee in the morning on the front porch and watching the cows on the property behind. It's so peaceful. I honestly felt like I was in a movie. Would absolutely recommend. There's a Bucees 5 driving minutes away from there if you need anything.

Such a wonderful Valentine's Weekend experience. When we decided on the drop of a dime to come a day in advance Trinity had no issue accommodating us. Felt private enough but still plenty of folks around to socialize with if you'd like. The tour and breakfast were also a great addition to our visit. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!

I only get his emails, but the guy is spot on. He has a vision of a different, better future and is putting wheels on his prayers and doing it in 3D.

I visited this place two years ago for a resort with some ladies and it was a really DIFFERENT experience. I've ever stayed in a tiny home and the experience was great the mud cave to the kayaking and that very strangely structured home on top of the hill very nice

Weird, low-key, relaxing, explorative, creative, minimalist, salvaged. Must I go on? This place was an absolutely magical wonderful experience and I already can't wait to go back. If you're looking for something unique and different don't hesitate to check this place out. Dog friendly too!!

Very friendly people, amazing experience. They welcomed us with our baby pig. We will be going back with our kids!

The eclectic property photographs well and the artistic charm is undeniable. BUT the overall experience was underwhelming and felt more like staying in a junkyard than anything. If this was listed at half the price, we would have been happy to overlook the fact its a major work in progress.

My family and I had the unique pleasure of staying this property over 4th of July weekend. The Vicky Won is so cute and vintage. I loved the sleeping area up in the loft, so cozy! My daughter and I had a great time kayaking in the canyon and swimming with Rocky the dog that lives on the property. He LOVES fetch in the water, you must find him when you visit. We also enjoyed feeding and holding the free range chickens. There is something so sweet and special about this place you really have to experience it for yourself! On our second day there Trinity created a fun and challenging treasure hunt for my 13yr old daughter with clues that took us throughout the property and the last clue ended with a very thoughtful prize. ( She asked me prior what my daughter's interests were) Trinity is amazing and went out of her way to make our visit memorable. She is very responsive and by far the best host I have ever engaged with. We ran into Darby while on our hunt and he shared some nuggets of wisdom with my daughter that I am sure made a lasting impression. Thank you Trinity and Darby for helping us make a precious memory that we will never forget!

My significant other booked this as a Valentine’s Day surprise road trip. We stayed in Vicky Too along with our two dogs. The staff was very nice and one even stopped by during one of our nights (with a newly hatched and adorable duckling) and talked with us as we built our campfire and roasted marshmallows. They have a lot of fun things to explore and do on their grounds including: an underground water cave with clay baths, trails, ponds, and salvage art displays. They are constantly evolving the grounds so be on the lookout for more things to do! It’s a very relaxed and chill place that allows you to build your own campfire, bring your dog, hang a hammock, and experience living more minimally. I highly recommend this place.

Really neat place!! The staff was very kind, polite, and professional and the house was clean and well kept. I look forward to renting some of the other fabulous tiny houses on the property. As for the people who gave one star, I wouldn't imagine you would be very nice if people kept calling you and wanting to talk about your job. That said, to a new person thinking of visiting, pay no attention to those people. UPDATE: Today met Darby and he was a very outgoing, polite, and well spoken guy. He doesn't strike me as rude, in the least.

Called this company to inquire what kind of designs were available to potentially purchase a tiny home. I was derided and dismissed by Darby. His advice? "Read my blog. Watch my YouTube videos". If his goal is to convince people to lead a sustainable lifestyle and recycle material he should learn to listen to the questions of people that call him rather than pontificate for 6 straight minutes about how amazing and smart he is and how stupid you are. After taking with him I want to do the opposite of everything he suggests because the intolerable, selfish, and arrogant nature he exuded throughout the phone call. I would never work with a person like this.

Disappointing. Has so much potential, but owner is his worst enemy. Agree with other review about “rude.” Needs to improve business practices if hope to ever be taken seriously. Beware.

Came out here to help my friend plan a wedding that ended up getting cancelled by the owner. The first time we went out, no one was even there to help us - although they said they would be. The absolute worst customer service.

My son and I stayed here on a road trip. We will definitely return for a visit. Unfortunately I was very sick after staying here and did not get the review completed on Airbnb within their 2 week time limit - so I will put my good review on here! Our host Trinity was amazing. She made sure we had everything we needed, she is very fun, warm, and kind. She even did some fun science experiments with my son. The tiny homes are themselves not only comfortable to stay in, but they are works of art. Each one is unique, made with upcycled materials and craftsmanship. The grounds are navigated via a dirt / mud road, so keep that in mind. I have a truck with high clearance and 4wd, so it was not an issue despite the heavy rain at the time. The tiny house we stayed in had a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, a nice big table, a half bath, and a really great porch for hanging out. My boy and I loved the animal friends we made, particularly our cat friend Big Brother. If you need to cook while here, there is no microwave. I brought a backpacking stove. You can bring your own camp stove/cooking gear, or you can make arrangements with your host to have an electric cook top available. There is also a fire ring outside, and if you bring a grate and enjoy campfire cooking, weather permitting, that is an option as well. The bath house had everything we needed to get cleaned up, and it is super cute!!! It is very quiet and peaceful here. We slept very well in our cozy loft. I can't express the warm fuzzies I have in regards to this special place, adding to it that my son lost his first tooth during our stay here! I can't wait to go back and explore the grounds more when the weather is more permitting.

My stay started August 3, 2018 in the Blue Moon. My husband and I are relocating from Wisconsin to Texas and the move has happened very quick. While waiting for our rental application to go through we decided to stay here to get away from every day life, with our 3 furr babies. One night and we wanted another day while we waited, now we havent been the easiest tenants. My husband has to work and prefers a privar full bath, Cat was more than happy to move us next door to The Kidd. Now I'm the one who wasnt very comfortable as it was a tiny home, and not roomy enough for my babies to move around. We were willing to rent out both houses as they were side by side. Now instead of getting both tiny homes, Cat recommended the Vicky Two to see if it was to our liking. It had a mini fridge, sink, and a full bath (just what I wanted with plenty of room). She didnt have to do that!! I was blown by her honesty and willingness to make our stay the best possible. She could've rented both tiny homes and gotten the price listed, but she went out of her way to make us happy and save money!!! I can honestly say we will be returning to this place even though we will live only 30 min away!! That is how much I absolutely loved this place. Oh and we're renting for a couple more nights after this!!! If your looking to save money and deal with honest people, LOOK NO FURTHER!!! THIS IS THE PLACE. IF I COULD GIVE IT 10 STARS I WOULD!!!!!! LOVE SALVAGE CITY!!!! By the by we made friends with such a friendly female cat (nicknamed by me "Darling"). She just loves to hang out with you!!

Fun property to explore. I liked the tiny house...nice change of pace from a hotel, etc. Salvaged building materials used in building them gave a wonderful rustic appearance as if they'd been there forever. It was comfortable. No wifi or TV and not the cleanest place I've ever stayed but I'd return for sure.

Unique community with small homes built from recycled material. We rented a small house for one night when driving through Texas.

A rollercoaster of an experience. The first house was literally just four walls and a showerhead with no drain on the floor. But then we saw some of the two story houses with balconies and recessed stairwells and stained glass windows and they were amazing. Then the proprietor started preaching at us about how our negative ions were connected to the asbestos in our pineal gland and how smoking was bad but "smoking" was ok if you got enough melatonin and didn't use your cell phone. Too much. So... you can't actually buy these houses, just invest in them or AIRBNB them. I don't understand but don't want to buy into his, I want my own. My mother would love the charming architectural elements but I'd never bring her here, just show her pictures. Lots of amazing things, lots of really weird stuff I didn't want to have to experience.

Booked through Air B&B. Quaint and cozy house, in a nice secluded location. The benefits of camping such as smores around a campfire and stargazing with the added benefit of having a proper bed to retire to.

An outstanding place. If you watch the Fair Companies Kirsten Dirksen's video about TTH "Tiny Texas Houses' "Willy Wonka" on making magic reusing wood " you know exactly what it is like because it is exactly like that. The houses and the reasoning behind the style and design of his tiny houses is outstanding. Take the tour and Brad Kittel might have you convinced to set up an outpost of your own to collect and reuse salvaged building material.

My family and I took a tour of the facility a few months ago, and we truly enjoyed ourselves. For me the tour was an adventure; a look into not only a lifestyle but also a culture that I find fascinating and even alluring. Personally, diminishing the mass-produced clutter that seems to choke my life if not my bank account calls to me. That statement may not be true for everyone, but anyone can enjoy the experience of learning a different way to live one's life. My only complaint is that their political views can be somewhat polarizing. I consider myself to be liberal, yet the staff made me feel as out of place as Mit Romney at a gay wedding. Yeah, try figuring that out. Still, the tour was a lot of fun. I would recommend it to anyone. PS You can also have a house ordered, or they can set you up with the construction package that gives you what you need to build your own tiny house. I did not partake of any of the services, but they are offered.

Brad took my husband and I on an extended tour yesterday. It is truly amazing what he is doing with these houses and with the salvage he is accumulating. It is a treasure trove of yesteryear. We hope to be able to purchase a tiny house or at minimum purchase a supply package to build or own. If you are interested in living small he's your guy!
