Absolute excellent service !!! The staff was very patient, informative, and extremely kind and compassionate. Because of a temporary disability, we were unable to walk and they were kind enough to provide a ride down to the salvage yard so we could pull the parts needed. The prices are the absolute lowest around. I recommend Hill Country Auto Salvage over any other Salvage Yard around.
Called in, had the engine, gave me a price, show up, engine is there, 30 minutes to clean and check the engine, price the same as given in the phone, they loaded it all up and I left happy.
Straight forward, easy to work with, good prices on the parts I needed, would recommend.
This place is great for parts. Got few parts today the light switch model worked even tho it was a different year and car but I got to come back and get the lower part of the air box, I didn't realize how bad mine was damaged. Carlos was great help with letting me know exactly where to find the cars. I'll be back for a bumper cover and that lower air box this week. And I'm sure for more parts in the future now that I found this place.
There is an entire list of horrible things this company did to me. Towed my car and in the process threw it in the back of the salvage yard where I just about had to remove the bumper to get it out. Charged me close to $700 dollars for my car being towed and left in the yard for a whopping 2 days. $100 to tow it, $200 to use the wench! Plus a load of other garbage charges to suck the soul out of you. Sold me a tire and a rim and despite having racks of tires they sell me the one that is dry rotted, doesn't fit right. Naturally it blows within two days. After being drug over the coals by the tow company who has the money laying around to drop $200 on a new tire and rim? Top all of that off they stripped the lug nuts installing the new tire and ripped the bumper off towing it. Thank you for everything you have done.
Needed a rear differential for my car. Was worried about dealing with someone from so far away as I am in NJ. There was originally an issue with the part that was sent out by Hill Country Auto Salvage. Upon contacting them about this their service was fantastic they corrected the mistake and shipped out the correct part free of charge. Very professional, would highly recommend working with them!
This yard is one of a dying breed. I prefer this place as you are still allowed to go out in the yard, search around, and pull your own part. To many have gone corporate and won't let you go out and search for what you are looking for anymore. This one does, and that is a win-win in my book.
I bought a transmission and they got it to my shop in two days. The transmission didn't have first or second (all parties knew this transmission was a gamble because it was in the front seat of a car that hadn't been wrecked). I called them up to let them know and they did some digging and were able to locate another one and send it over. The new one works well and they didn't charge me for shipping or have me send the broken one back. I'd recommend these guys; they stand behind their warranties.
If you want speedy, friendly and the best service then this is your place. A mirror had to be ordered which came in quickly, it was then put on with efficiently. Should the services of a salvage yard be needed this is where I will go.
I needed a new back tail light for my inspection and they got it overnight. It was installed for free; and everyone was kind professional, and clearly knowledgeable about automobiles.
Well, I had the ride of my life these last few days. Moved to MF from Llano & have had been dealing w/ way too much stress & FORGOT to check oil in my 2001 Xterra. I was sure I lost my car but thank God for AAA & thank God for Hill Country Auto Salvage. From the ladies on dispatch, to the tow tech, to Johnny in the office, I survived unscathed & my SUV did too. They were all topnotch. Some major life lessons but I'm getting an oil change NOW & am grateful I ended up with nice, ethical, reputable folks. I'll def be using them again & referring people here. Thank you!
UPDATE: Naturally, when I was alone, the problem started again. I called them & Johnny said I could bring it rt back. The mechanic saw it right away & knew it was the distributor. They were incredibly busy BUT still fit me right in & had the part installed in no time. Excellent service.
Even though they were extremely busy and short handed. They pulled the headlight assembly for me and installed it in a very short time. And at very reasonable charge. Thanks so much Johnny.
They didn't have my parts but took the time to find a place that did. Great people here! Didn't make a dime off me and still took the time to take care of what I needed. Can't find that service any more!
My husband was arrested and his car towed to Hill Country, there were 60 in lottery tickets missing and they stole all of his work tools !!!!! If that isn’t bad enough they were EXTREMELY hard to get in touch with, they don’t answer or return calls!! The B***h that finally answered was beyond rude!!
These guys are absolute angels! Car problems always happen at the worst time and they were so kind and helpful! I had to come back from south austin 3 times for different parts but each time, they helped me out and were so honest with pricing. If I lived down here they'd be the #1 place I go to for all my auto problems. They're also very kind and friendly! I really appreciate them! Great people
In March of 2019, the previous owners SPITE (RICK MCLENDON) & VANITY (CHERI STANTON) STOLE MY TRUCK AT HILL COUNTRY AUTO SALVAGE!!! They're the reason for only giving INE ⭐. New owners get ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!! Thank GOD they NO LONGER OWN the place et it's under completely NEW OWNERSHIP with MUCH BETTER people there. I hope my review comes up FIRST when you search your name Richard McLendon & Cheri Stanton!
Great people who work there. The owner is reasonable on prices but the prices that are established for all are kinda high but alot of times you can bundle several parts for a lower price. Overall,thumbs up
They have since changed ownership from a previous comment about a lady being mean. The new owner(s) is very nice and helpful. Very efficient as well on how you go about paying for the needed part(s)
The owner was working the day I had to take a car in to junk. He met us in the parking lot as we got out, and was super friendly. He made us an offer and got us taken care us really quickly.
If I could give them zero stars I would. They refuse to let me get my belongings from our no title car which includes a paycheck with my name and info on it, we have gotten insurance we have a bill of sale they told us if we continue to call they will charge us for calling. They told me I can buy back my paycheck at auction. The woman at the desk is extremely rude even to my insurance company. They're theives with horrible customer service.
I was in a wreck today and had to get my truck to a salvage yard. Long story short, They treated me with the upmost respect. From the office staff, to the tow truck driver, and especially the owner, all were very helpful.
I became a customer of theirs involuntarily when I was pulled over by HP and arrested for an outstanding citation. By the grace of God, my vehicle was impounded by these amazing people.
My 10 year old dog was in the car with me. The officer was going to call the pound to get him while I was in jail. I had no idea what would happen to him and was completely worried.
The fine folks at Hill country Auto salvage offered to take care of him. They patiently attended to him for 12 hours until I could get out. He walks slow and needs to be carried often.
