Honest, helpful, trustworthy. It's hard to find a car mechanic you can trust and who won't try to rip you off. These guys actually care about people. They've helped me multiple times with repairs and advice.
My family has been using Jones Auto Repair for years. The service is always professional, the work is always excellent, and prices are very reasonable. Highly, highly recommend.
Have been getting uhauls through Jones for 5+ years. Always in and out quickly and was glad to use them on a move out of Memphis. Guys got my trailer hooked up and situated where I could pull straight out onto poplar.
This is the best shop in the area. The mechanics are competent and very friendly. I have been coming here for years and won't be going anywhere else. If you're looking for honest and competent mechanics then come here!
Just got back from there. I spent hours making a problem worse in my garage and ended up with engine parts everywhere. My dad took me where he always goes - Jones Auto. They fixed it all in about 10 minutes. They only charged me $5 for a headlight bulb I know costs $25. These guys are legends.
Rick was great. Talked to him over the phone and explained the issue. Bad coolant leak on my Ford Expedition. He scheduled a day a few weeks out to bring it in. Ford dealership asked us to bring it in and they didn’t know when they would get to it. Rick worked on it that day and it was ready by the afternoon. We had one issue and did take it back. Rick met me in the parking lot and had it resolved in 5 minutes. He apologized and no additional charges. It’s been over a week now and coolant leak is no longer an issue. Would use him again.
Excellent outfit. I returned a Uhaul truck here and was in and out in about two minutes. Austin (think this was his name) was super friendly and helpful. He did everything from his phone and I was on my way quickly. I would definitely recommend this place.
I have been meaning to leave a review for jones for a while. Rick is amazing and a really honest hard worker. Their team is friendly and cares about their customers. Repaired multiple leaks on an 05 Honda that others couldn’t find and diagnosed my 2011 mustang properly so I could get it back running. It was the computer in it and they didn’t charge me and advised me to take to dealer. Very giving shop. They are a gem. Don’t take them for granted.
I took my Jeep here after a recommendation from a friend. The guys here are trustworthy, honest, and do great work. The prices are great and they finished my car earlier than expected. They will not take advantage of you and only do what is necessary to your vehicle.
There’s nothing like the added peace of mind that only a great mechanic can provide, and my family has always been able to rely on David Jones, Sr. & Dave Jr. or any of the fine gentlemen thar work there. Since 1982, when David Jones, Sr. and Dave Jr. opened their business, and they were always able to help with either my mothers car or my car with anything from routine maintenance to major repairs. In the event it is not a service they provide, (such as a tire alignment) they will only recommend the type of businesses that offer the same superior service at affordable prices that they give their customers.
Had a nail go through my tire and had to get it fixed ASAP before work the next day. They were able to fit me in at the very end of the day and get the tire plugged, check all my tire pressure, and put the tire back on in under 15 minutes. Very professional and much cheaper than what I was expecting to pay. Will definitely return if I have any other issues with my car.
I was picking up my U-Haul rental at Jones Auto Repair, and I had the best experience with U-Haul I have ever had. The owner helped me save money and had my 26’ truck ready to go on 5 minutes. I would highly recommend these guys for any U-Haul rental.
OK so I go out to my car of course battery’ is dead. I have it towed over to Jones’s auto repair on Poplar in Germantown. They’re amazing they fix me up in no time get me on my way. They are smiling. They are amazing. They know everything if you need your car fixed if you need an oil change whatever you need these guys know everything they’re like the ninja of auto repairs. I needed a brake service on my way to New Orleans from Indiana. They fit me in immediately due to me needing to get on the road and were helpful and honest, letting me know about another issue I would need to deal with once I got home. Location was convenient to walk to city silo for breakfast and coffee at Starbucks also.
Rented a U-Haul trailer to move a large sofa. No repair or service needed to my Jeep …but Mike and the owner … both I met and had some meaningful conversation with… they are solid, straight up good and kind people. They’ve been in that space for 50 years.
The service and attitude of the employees at Jones auto is despicable. They do not maintain their u-haul vehicles. We rented a 17 foot u-haul from Jones Auto to take furniture to Clarksville, TN from Memphis. When we got to Clarksville the engine light came on in the truck. When this happened the brakes went out and the steering would not work. We called Jones and they refused to offer any assistance. We managed to get the vehicle to the U-haul location in Clarksville. The service tech there found a broken belt on the vehicle. The U-Haul vehicle we had rented had not been maintained and Jones refused to take any responsibility for it. We could have been killed if the brakes had gone out on a highway or busy road. I would not recommend renting a U-Haul from this location.
Fair and honest. I've used them for service on multiple cars. Recently I had a problem with my cooling system. They made the repair, but within a few days the problem returned. They made the additional repair at no charge (just a small charge for the part). Would highly recommend.
These guys are awesome! They do good, honest work and keep me informed every step of the way. With my husband working out of state, I have to take care of vehicle maintenance and I know they will let me know what is top priority and what can wait, and charge and honest fair price. Highly highly recommend!
The team at Jones consistently exceeds my expectations for their customer service, value, and timeliness. I dropped off our car at 7:00 AM on a Saturday to have an oil change, a window actuator repaired, the AC charged, and a bad wheel bearing replaced and everything was completed by 2:00 PM the same day. Everyone I've ever spoken with there is friendly and helpful. Additionally, their communication is top notch. I appreciate that a local shop like this is in business and in my neighborhood. I confidently recommend them to anyone.
My friend recommended it as she's been going for years, & as I was driving a long way I wanted to be sure my car was in good shape. After inspection & an oil change, etc., Jones assured me it'd be fine, & on a trip made longer by weather & traffic, the only thing I didn't have to worry about was my car. 1300+miles & not a single issue! It's worth the extra driving time for me to take my car where I know I'll get reliable service at fair prices.
I've only had one experience here and it was fantastic. I wanted a 2nd opinion after going to Honda and receiving a diagnosis that didn't add up (other than in $$$$). I didn't have an appt here, yet they fit me in and fixed the ac/ heater issue within minutes. To top it off, they didn't charge me anything! I really appreciated their transparency and honesty, and hope to have the same experience with them in the future.
This was my first visit to Jones Auto Repair. I was impressed by the no of positive reviews and thought it would be a good experience. Spoke to David before taking my car for a tire leak check. Although, I just went for a tire repair (remove a nail and patch the tire), the work done seemed a quite shoddy. I must admit it was not what I expected. It looked the auto mechanic working on my car was in a hurry, just wanted to finish the work and get it over with. For every question I asked, the answer was - it's fine and don't worry. A good tire repair should ensure the tire is thoroughly inspected for any additional internal damage and the patch should be made from inside. And tire balance/alignment should be done. None of this was performed. They didn't even remove the tire, did a quick fix with the cheap repair kit you can get for $5 at auto zone (more like a DIY kit). I specifically asked if this was a good way to repair and was told the fix would stay for the lifetime of the tire. Well, I really hope it survives few months having spent money on it already (although the fix looks temporary). I am sure I would have to get it repaired properly at some other shop soon. The way you handle small work shows a lot about the handling of big assignments. I was not very impressed with the service provided and may not go back to them again unless the tire turns flat within the next week.
Have been going here 7 years, great people, very reasonable on prices and always fixed right the first time. Ricky saved me over $400 dollars in unnecessary brake repairs that another local shop wanted. They do get booked up and sometimes you have to wait, but having to wait means you are getting the same great service time after time.

In the two reviews I read that were unfavorable acusing them of racism, the individuals bought their parts elsewhere and expected a song and dance for Jones to install it.
We have known these trustworthy folks for nearly 30 years. Their knowledge, high moral character and competency in the automotive field are unmatched. We’ve never been disappointed in the Jones family through the years, and our children have used them for car servicing, as well.

We were traveling from Chicago to Lousisanna and Memphis was our half way point for the trip. We found out that we needed and new alternator after our battery light went on. The Gentlemen there are absolutely amazing!!! They got us in that morning and the work was done quickly and efficient.
