Always an amazing time here. Staff is spectacular. Accommodation always comfortable and clean. Love this place!

We had an amazing time on the trails. Although the weather was not great we had a great time. Getting used to the mud in the mountains was the first obstacle but that added the adventure. Amazing is all I can say. If you haven’t been, you should set a date to go.

If you're looking for a quiet and family friendly campground, this is not for you. This is the campground right in the center of fun! Settled in the mountain and a playground for all things ATV, UTV, adventure riding and motorcycling. Bath in the roar of engines and speed at Windrock!

I cannot say enough nice things about this place. Our cabin was absolutely perfect. The people were so nice here and the trails were great to ride! The riding difficulty level goes from very basic to extreme and the trails are so beautiful!

Cabin 519, Campfire delight is a great cabin. Separated from other for your nice little retreat. Fully furnished. Has a queen bed in the master and hide-a-bed in the living / dining area. Linens are included. Kitchen has full size refrigerator, oven and dishwasher. All the utensils, pots, pans, spatulas, cutting boards, cookie sheets, toaster, etc, are clean and ready to use. Never did find an oven mit though. Has everything you would need in the kitchen to cook your own meals. All the towels in the bathroom are included. Also has small soaps and shampoo for your use. Great area to ride with plenty of trails.

1) Cabins are ok, 2) camping is quite good, 3) location is very good, 4) security guard during our visit was crazy and unreasonable during his speed traps. He was super aggressive and threatening even though I was not. My wife was seating it the back of our truck with our 1 year old and was petrified. He was threatening to kick us out of the camp site etc.etc. I don’t remember this person’s name but I am quite sure that he is well know there as other security guards were very nice.

Rented a cabin for the stay which was great. Had everything we needed. General store has everything in case you forgot something.

Great convenient campsites if you’re exploring Windrock Park. No shade or trees. Wildlife roaming around. Surprisingly quiet, considering all the SxS and 4x4s. Large picnic pavilion for groups. Buddy sites available.

We stayed 2 nights in this cabin & absolutely loved it! It comes just about everything you’d need to cook, grill, etc.

Great location. Extremely nice campground with plenty of room for all your stuff and the rental cabins were extremely clean and had just what we needed.

We stay in overflow and the views are beautiful. The wildlife is abundant and easy access to bath house, office and connector trail. Highly recommend.

The new buddy site area is top notch with fire pits, grills, and tables at all the sites and tons of room for parking. Grounds are kept super clean and tidy. Trash was picked up daily. The front office looks great and staff is available to assist with any questions. Only thing needing attention is the wash station. People bring expensive toy haulers and would appreciate an adequate wash station before loading up.

Great people, good security, competitive prices, excellent location if going to Windrock. I’ve used this campground twice and had good luck both times. Definitely one of the more affordable options to stay at while going to Windrock. Highly recommended.

Year 5 of camping here. It had been fun watching how much they enhance and expand things. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Staff is helpful. We buy wood every time and it’s a hit or miss if it’ll be wet.

We came down to film some YouTube videos for Adrenalinejunkieprod. The campground is set up nicely. Easy in and out. Full hookups. Everyone was friendly and happy to be there. We will be back.

Awesome campground. About a 10-15 minute drive to the general store and 20 minutes or so via the connector trail. This is the best way to access the trails. We stayed in our own camper so I couldn’t rate the rooms. Will definitely come again soon. Lots of fun to be had on the trails!

The new cabins added on the road going to the General store are fabulous. They are more updated and far more spacious than the ones near the campground itself. The bedroom and bathroom is much larger as it the living area. The only downside is the proximity to the main road to the trails and store creating road noise but it wasn’t a problem the later it got. It’s a small inconvenience for the modern amenities offered with these newer cabins.

Windrock Campground is a beautiful campground with plenty of room to spread out. The bath house is fine. Nothing fancy, but not dirty or not taken care of either. Our campsite had a nice large lawn with it and included a concrete pad and a fire ring with a grate for cooking on. A nice large picnic table was also provided. Both ring and metal on picnic table had custom ironwork with their logo which is a nice touch. The water pressure was okay. We’ve had better and worse. The water tasted fine. We had a 50 amp hookup and there were also 30 amp hookups available. We had C5, which was a drive through spot and makes it easy to pull in the camper. We appreciated the larger trees and the shade that will soon be covering a lot of the grassy areas. They’re not mature trees yet but it’s still nice and pretty. Quiet time starts at 11pm and the campers all seemed to comply. The exception was a few late night riders and campers just coming in but all in all a peaceful place at night. Windrock had built a new building since our last trip where you check in at and it was very large and nice which contained one, maybe two bathrooms. You can also purchase your permits there using their computers. It’s set up real nice. No t-shirts or anything like that though, that’s in the General Store. They have a nice selection of clothing and accessories, food and lots of incidentals you may have forgotten. They also paved the parking lot while we stayed and accomplished it in less than 2 days with even the lines painted on it and open. We really appreciated now being able to purchase ice there during the open hours as opposed to having to drive down the trail or road to the General Store to purchase ice. It was $4 per 7 pound bag. Kinda pricey but what can you do? That building also has a single wash bay that uses tokens. The General Store has 2 more wash bays and better water pressure as a heads up. Windrock has really improved their accommodations adding several Yurts and lots of new cabins and primitive camping spots. It’s all very well taken care of and looks great. They’re also pretty good at keeping the trails up. Covered trash boxes at every site and picked up daily I believe. Very clean campground. New this year was improved bicycle trails and jumps. One jump that you can see from the road is very impressive with stone stacked up and beautiful wood. There’s also a new building near there for the bicycles. It’s very nice looking, we didn’t go in but saw it from the edge of the large parking lot. We had heard a pro award winning bicyclist is now leasing Windrock and that’s why so many improvements have been made. Not sure how true that is, FYI. DNR checks your permits and makes sure no alcohol is going with you upon entering the trails. The two we’ve encountered were very nice and helpful with information if you ask. The last guy took the time to answer a bunch of questions we had about driving our buggy on the highway in Oliver Springs and places you can get to in the buggy to eat. There’s quite a few. Cabins are nice but pricey but not out of line with everyone else these days. I think our RV spot was only about $50 a day. One complaint is there’s no WiFi for the campground. But I think the cabins have it. We love going riding and Windrock is a favorite spot. Windrock Campground is highly recommended by me and my family. We’ve got annual passes (the best deal) and are looking forward to our next trip.

Top notch. Great staff. However you like to camp, there is a spot here. Every option you could ask for in tent sites. There are secluded private wooded spots, to secluded platforms on top of Big Fork Ridge (our choice) which are all private, surrounded by trees and in the shade or the side-by-sides right next to the bathhouse and ATV trails, all at excellent rates. RV sites w/hookups or primitive, all on nice level surfaces. Bathhouses are A+ clean and well maintained. Yurts are primitive, and cabins are available w/various amenities. This place is super popular with ATV trail riders, but we were never disturbed by a single noise. Extremely quiet, private, and peaceful. Our visit was to spend several days at the Windrock shooting and training center, which was less than 5 minutes from camp. We didn't do any hiking or look into hiking trails. You are 10-15 minutes from the nearest grocery store or gas station if a last second need comes up. We will be planning many more trips here.

Long ride but Worth it, definitely another level up of riding, not so much to destroy anything but you could if you wanted. Talked to one of grounds / security been working there since its conception he said you can ride as hard as you want and as easy as you would like (HE'S RIGHT). Great Folks running the place super friendly and the hospitality is just as nice. Didn't get a chance to ride as much as we would have wanted but there is lots riding to be done on 75 thousand acres and extremely well maintained, strict policies no non-sense big on riding safety truly want everyone to have a great time and experience. Con a little expensive compared to other parks but worth it. Cabins are really really nice especially the newer ones, views are awesome especially on top of the mountain in the Campground area and convenient shopping right outside the park. Definitely going back just not sure when, a long haul from eastern NC, not crowded at all, but steady. 5 ? Windrock knocked it out of the park. Thanks, Doug

Always an excellent stay on the primitive side. I prefer the outdoors and my own sheets, so we always stay primitive and utilize the bath houses for showers and restrooms. As always with high traffic areas there is usually a lack of toilets, and some are usually stopped up, but are never clogged for more than a couple hours before the staff fixes it. Showers are always hot. Primitive pricing for camping is perfect.

Every time I come back there are big improvements. From better primitive camp sites to more cabins. The staff has always been wonderful and informative. Kid and wife safe this is the spot to enjoy family friends and amazing views.

This place is dialed! The campground is clean, well run and perfectly located close to all the fun activities you’ll enjoy at Windrock. The staff is friendly and attentive. The view of the valley is very nice. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked with warm showers and clean toilets. I will definitely come back here again.

We had an awesome experience here. We decided to tent camp even though it was below freezing and snowed overnight. Still had a great time. The bath houses are heated, so that was a big plus. Great amenities at each campsite and the check-in process was easy. Will definitely go back.

We had one of our best vacations ever at this place! We stayed there with our RV and ATVs over Memorial Weekend. It was definitely a trip that we will never forget. The weather was perfect. The bathrooms are kept very clean. The staff is super friendly. There are trails for days. We had a blast and will definitely be back! A word to the wise though, bring a dust mask!!!
