Honest 1 Auto Care has always been a great experience, the people are great and they do what they can to fix a problem whether it be the price or anything going on with your vehicle.
I never do reviews, however I feel like honesty and integrity should be recognized. Last week with all the ice and snow my truck had what I was pretty sure a catastrophic failure as I exited the interstate. After checking reviews I decided to have it towed to Honest1 auto care. It ended up being a loose caliper bolt that somehow locked one of my rotors up completely. They gave the vehicle a full inspection with recommendations and fixed that loose bolt. Charged me $106. I’m very grateful. In a world where it seems like everyone is trying to take advantage and benefit financially. This business chose to do the right thing. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back for any automotive maintenance or repair! God bless!

*** Addition to my review *** today, 10-15-2025 I took our Ford Escape into Honest-1 for an oil change. Showed up a little before 8am and the place was already in full swing. I decided to hang around and wait, well I was done and out the door before 9am and the price was very easy on my pocket. I will continue to be a customer of Honest-1, they say what they're going to do and do what they say and I feel they are an honest business here in Clarksville.

I stopped in as a recommendation from a tire shop that damaged a bolt/lug nut. I got a great vibe from the team immediately. Friendly, efficient and up front with information. We decided to bring my husbands car back for a break inspection. I appreciated that they did this at no charge and clearly presented the findings and estimate for work. It's a relief to know we have a place to take our cars and they will be in good hands.
UPDATE: despite the backhanded response from them here, my car hasn’t had an issue since my repair with the other mechanic because they fixed the issue correctly.
They WILL SCAM YOU with an incorrect diagnostic, extremely overpriced solutions, they will take much longer then originally quoted, and when inquiring about our vehicle they gave us the worst customer service over the phone. They tried to charge me $2700 for a $580 repair. I’m so glad I left and took my car elsewhere.
Details of my worst mechanic experience:
I chose to be towed here after reading the positive the reviews and “honest” being in the name that they would be.. honest.. but sadly that was not the case. $170 for a diagnostic is way above average (120-150 max) One fuel injector malfunctioned so they stated all four fuel injectors needed replacement and a full tune up totaling $2700. I asked him the price of one fuel injector and the tune up for $1700 but I knew that was way too much. Towed my car to another mechanic. Their diagnostic ($120) said one Coil (the actual fuel injector was fine) and 4 spark plugs needed to be replaced totaling $580.
Thank god I chose another shop. It’s sad they would try to take advantage of people like this. There was no need to recommend a full tune up and 4 fuel injector replacements on a vehicle that had a bad coil, one bad spark plug, with only 70,000 miles.
conclusion- this company is know for extreme overpricing and their responses to their negative reviews are proof that they don’t care about the customer or doing better for themselves.

I was recommended this place by a mechanic to get an alignment done on my miata. Very fairly priced, excellent and thorough work, and done in a few hours! The mechanics did not try to upsell either. Was way better than Firestone in my opinion. I would recommend this place for sure.
Honest genuine staff, had came in for a broken lug stud but didn’t know there was a second one that was broke. Austin had also gave us a great quote on some brake pads.
The entire staff was professional and helpful. The inspection and service for my vehicle was thorough and detailed in writing. Everything was explained, there was no pressure to do any "extra" services, prices were not excessive, and my vehicle was ready to go in no time!

We were in Clarksville, TN to check out the area for relocation. While there our check engine light came on. I had that looked at and it showed our thermostat needed to be replaced. Since we were 12 hours from home, I knew we had to get it fixed. My first thought was to do it myself, till I looked up how, I had to find somewhere. I went to the dealership, they weren't even interested in helping us out. My wife called Honest-1 Auto care, they were willing to take a look and work with us to get our cat back the same day if possible. I dropped it off, they gave me a ride back to the hotel. Just about 6pm, they called they still needed an hour to complete and test. Sure enough the next morning at 8:45 AM they called. They came and picked me up, I payed and the car has been running just fine ever since. They were top notch and treated us right!
Brought my truck into Honest-1 last Thursday morning as soon as the doors opened for them to take a look at why my check engine light was on. I had it narrowed down to a few options thanks to the diagnosis I got from Autozone earlier in the week. That being said they made it known up front that they were a little backed up and might not be able to start their diagnosis process until Friday afternoon at the earliest. I work in construction so I understand the life of working in a trade and the chaos that can come along with that. Fast forward to Friday afternoon I received a message with a link that showed me what their diagnosis had discovered and they walked me through everything on the phone so I knew what I was looking at and what they were describing. After telling them to proceed they put in an order for the new part they needed and even though it was a little harder tracking it down and getting it into the shop than we all thought it would be they kept me updated on the process. Finally come Tuesday afternoon I had received the notice my vehicle was ready to be picked up so I rushed down there and got everything paid for(which was very reasonable compared to other places I’ve used in the past) and thanked them for their help and hard work. The entire staff shows that even though they get busy and sometimes even more than they can handle all at once that we as the customers are still the most important part of their business. I will definitely keep returning in the future for any automotive needs I may have and I highly recommend everyone gives them a try if they have not already. We bought a pick up from a local dealership on Aug 6 2025. The truck had a faulty engine. The guys at Honest 1 replaced the engine and we are on the road again. THANK YOU HONEST 1 for your guidance and support and professionalism. We won’t be going anywhere else for any future mechanical issues on any of our vehicles. You are the best.

A true blessing! My mom, my son (who is in a wheelchair) and myself, drove down to clarksville tn. From Minnesota 13hr drive. And my van broke down we brought it to Honest-1 auto care . They were aware I need my van back ASAP, because I had no other way to transport my son , and the problem was I over filled my van with gas( I will never do that again) anyway they got it up and running and they are so kind and I will forever be thankful for all they did for us ! I love this shop.They are great. I am not car savvy. I went in and told them I heard a clicking noise and the steering wheel was shaking. They were able to find and fix the problem. They take care of all of my vehicles
Shoutout to the crew at Honest-1! Dade went above and beyond to track down a sporadic issue with my vehicle and left no stone unturned. That kinda devine discontent and good mechanic work is hard to find. Good service might cost a lil extra (money/patience) but its worth every dollar at Honest-1
Never have I ever had an auto shop give me such a detailed analysis on my vehicle. Even included picture and videos. They definitely live up to their name. My go to for car repairs from now on.
I had my vehicle towed here due to engine issue. Unfortunately my vehicle does in fact need a new engine. Austin quoted me $11,000 for an engine. When I purchased my vehicle, I didn’t buy any warranties, so I didn’t even think to call the dealership to see if I had any extended warranties on it. Austin told me before I made the decision on my vehicle, I should get a hold of the dealership to see if they happen to have an extended warranty on it, because this unfortunately is a common error with this type of vehicle. He truly could’ve just taken my money, and what about his day. Instead, he informed me of this in hopes for a better outcome. I am new to this area, and I am extremely grateful of his kindness, I will definitely bring my vehicle back here is I run into any more issues.
The team at Honest-1 are fantastic! I took my Audi in for a second opinion after the dealership recommended ~$3300 in maintenance and repair costs. The Honest-1 team were able to do it all for several hundred dollars less and much closer to home. I will absolutely be back. I feel like a valued customer who is welcome and who's business matters to the team.
Honest 1 lives up to their name and strive to make their customers happy. My old 79 Ford pick up runs like it is new. They also honor military vets with a discount. I won’t take my truck anywhere else.
I drove my vehicle to honest care auto shop and left it there for service. During the adjustment of my rear right trailing arm, the mechanic informed me that they had broken the bolt connecting two components due to rust or seizing but I wasn’t warn before the operation because they could tell if the bolt was in bad shape they said. They advised me to obtain a replacement bolt, which they intended to charge a significant amount to order.
The following day, I acquired the replacement bolt and brought it to the shop for installation. To my surprise, I was presented with a labor bill exceeding $150, including tool supply fees, for what was estimated as one hour of work. Reluctantly, I paid for the removal of the bolt, even though the job remained incomplete.
Consequently, my car was inoperable, and I had to arrange for it to be transported on a trailer to another repair shop. I spent the entire night, until 2 in the morning, replacing the suspension component that had a broken bolt lodged in it and ultimately replacing the entire piece.
This unfortunate situation left me physically exhausted, and I was unable to attend my college courses the next day due to the extensive work required to restore my vehicle to working condition.
I drove my car there and wasn’t able to drive it back home
But who am I to only talk about the bad the mechanic and the front office was really respectful and treated me humanely
Unlike other shops I've had to go to over the years, I'm 100% confident that the work done here was necessary and done correctly.
The waiting room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Complimentary drinks and snacks. But best of all is the service. These guys are the best I've ever dealt with.
One recommendation: make an appointment! There's a reason they're busy and it takes time to be good and do it right. I'll be brining my car here from now on.
EDIT: I wrote the above review while checking out, I was pleasantly surprised when I came out to my car and saw a thank you note and a bag of pretzels!
