Jalapeño Burger! Very nice restaurant, seems to be family owned and operated. Fun place has artifacts and vintage items on the wall. Food is good, burger was cooked well and loved the fries.. service was great and the staff very attentive. Nice find in a small TN town called Hohenwald.

Love this restaurant. We go every time we go through here. Love it!!!! Food is great.! Love looking at all the country memorabilia! Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

The food was decent. The steak was cooked well but was bland. The fried pickles were 5 star however.

Even though the place was so busy service was good. Bathrooms were so dirty I just washed my hands and didn't even use the toilet. Went across the street and used the porta potty, that's how filthy they were.

Had a great meal at the Jumkyard Dog in Hohenwald! We were in town looking at land to build on and this place was recommended to us. Service was great, food was hot and really good(took one star off because they put brown gravy on their chicken fried steak, not white country gravy!), my wife's burger and fries were great! Looking forward to returning to the Junkyard for meals in the future!

Ordered food and drinks at the same time. Was offered bread but two young girls that came in behind us was catered to before we was served any bread or salads. These girls were seated and brought appetizers and bread before us because the host who was not serving served them because she was friends with them. Also the host came back and asked have yall not got your salads. Let me get those I am trying to get everything for yall but I am not even serving. I spoke to manager and she only asked how my waitress was doing and she was great and even pulling a double shift… she was here since 10 AM and this review is at 7:55 PM. Manager needs improvement and employees need a meeting.

Food was amazing!!! It was a very busy Friday night. It took a while to get our order placed and get our food, but it was worth the wait!!! Highly recommend the crab and shrimp dip appetizer!!!

I had an unfortunate experience. I waited an hour for my to go order. They forgot to put the order in, thus causing the delay. They overcharged me and would not refund the difference. Their online pricing is different for some items, so please be mindful of that when ordering. They were understaffed like most places, so I know that played a major part. I was understanding of that, but they didn’t handle things very well none-the-less. It was likely my one and only experience.

This place is a cool little place to hit up. Food was amazing service was good too. Definitely recommend hitting this place up.

Philly cheese was amazing, buffalo wings were also delicious. The fries are crispy salty and taste great. The atmosphere in here is dark/ dimly lit with Christmas style lights which give it a very nice, homestyle type vibe. Bread was also warm, soft and delicious.

The ambience of this place is amazing, the food is delicious, and the service is attentive. We had lunch specials- burgers, fries, hamburger steak, pork chops. Everything grilled was smoky and tasty, and everything fried was crispy and yummy. This is not your overpriced, pretentious steak houses. It's 100% down home American, a great deal and so good! We'll be recommending Junyard Dog to friends.

We were looking for some no frills fuel after a long 8hr drive from WV by way of NYC. Got what we wanted and then some. The sirloin was cooked well and was crazy juicy and flavorful. The star of the show was my ribeye. Hand cut and trimmed to perfection, cooked to blue-rare, a delicacy and a rarity in the Northeast. Good beer pours (24oz domestic draft for $8). Only reason gave 4/5 stars was it was a lil pricier than we expected, but really was a great dinner.

100 mile + ride in absolutely perfect weather. 10 of us today! Food was excellent and Karan took good care of us without breaking a sweat or making any mistakes.

Ordered the Blackened Ribeye and the Porterhouse, both Rare with a salad and sautéed mushrooms. The food was incredible. I'm a steak snob, and it's easily the best steak in town. The ranch was even awesome. The service is incredible, and Debra talked over the menu with me and helped walk me thru the online ordering process. I'll be ordering from Junkyard Dogs again.

If you’re ever out in Hohenwald, Tennessee this place is a must! Get the Bleu Healer! Hand cut Blackened Ribeye Steak with Bleu Cheese Butter!! C’mon somebody!! Great cut, Great flavor, Super tender! The butter just set it off! Not to mention it’s a chill spot out in a cozy little country town! Great job y’all! I’ve had $60 steaks that don’t stand a chance next to yours!

Fantastic Food and friendly staff. Ordered the smothered steak and everything was perfect. I'm glad someone recommended that I eat here on my visit!

We were seated immediately upon walking in, which was a nice start to the experience. The atmosphere has a charming old western, small-town vibe that really sets it apart from your typical chain restaurant. It feels cozy and nostalgic, like stepping back in time. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming feel of the place. One of the standout features was definitely the pricing—exceptionally affordable! For two meals and dessert, we spent less than $40, which is hard to find these days. As for the food, it was decent—nothing extraordinary, but it hit the spot for a casual night out. The real highlight, though, was the strawberry cheesecake. I regret not snapping a picture because it was hands down the best part of the meal—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Overall, while the food was just okay, the affordable prices and friendly service make it worth considering if you’re in the mood for a laid-back dining experience. I’d give it a solid 3 stars.

Junkyard Dog steakhouse is a great place for a good meal. We've been several times and had steak, chicken and shrimp and enjoyed the meals thoroughly. Be sure to try the Chihuahua dog! Excellent!

The ambiance is pretty cool. The service was very good and the food was solid The jalapeño burger was very good, fries were from frozen, but acceptable. The ribs were tender, but lacked that deep smoky flavor. Onion Rings came out soft and nit crispy and were definitely from the freezer. It's a good spot for a burger and maybe a cheap steak.

We came here for lunch today. There were four of us and we were seated right away. Our server was super friendly and took our orders with a smile. We ordered the Cuban Sandwich with sweet potato fries, Chicken Tenders,(they were huge!), mashed potatoes, and baked beans, Jalapeño Burger with fries, and Shrimp Scampi. We all enjoyed our meals! The rustic decor was interesting and fun to look at while we waited for our meals.

If you are staying at Thousand Trails Natchez Trace and just need to eat out, this is the place. Food was amazing. I had the grilled pork chop and it was 3/4" thick and so juicy. Good prices.

This was my first visit, though my lady friend has been there a number of times before. We ordered onion rings, Cajun pasta, and a steak sandwich. The service and the attention we got was great. My steak sandwich was good.. The Cajun pasta was my friends favorite dish on past visits, but tonight she returned the dish. The Cajun pasta came with steak bits which tasted like leather and the pasta was pasty. The onion rings were too well formed and were disappointing which was made worse by plastic packets of sweet ketchup. Only Heinz ketchup could have made them taste better. This is unfortunate because the restaurant has so much character and the service was great.

Holy Heaven, a must have. I've traveled the world & no joke some of the best steak I've ever had. Cooked & seasoned perfectly. Wow very impressed. This place blew any expectations I had for it. Out of towner! Would come back just for this food!

I book the room for surprise graduation party for my oldest this past Saturday. The waiter was awesome! He join in the club with my entire family where we have game of Cooties ??? if you haven’t been involved with my family then you wouldn’t understand the game lol! The foods was so good and desserts as well!

I've only been here twice, but both times the food was wonderful. Junkyard Dog starts you off with a wonderfully textured bread while you wait for your entree. I went with the pulled pork this time and was impressed. Everything is reasonably priced as well. The service was expedient and the server was friendly. I will be back (hopefully soon) to enjoy another delicious meal.

A hidden gem in the midst of this small town. I got the Ragin' Cajun, cooked rare and it was perfect. The mashed potatoes and gravy were phenomenal, as were the onion rings. The bread beforehand is fantastic. Their prices are a little steep, but for the high quality food you're getting, it's worth it. Our server Nichole was fun and friendly, and really made the whole experience.
