They were able to see my car 2 weeks faster than other shops in the area. When my Subaru needed more than just a new clutch/throwout bearing, they were proactive in finding a used transmission to save me $$$, and additionally installed it free of labor costs (I only paid for the part), along w/some other parts. At no time did they pressure me to put in the newer transmission, and at no time did they seem to be ripping me off.
This is a family-run shop, the owner is honest and operates with integrity, they all are friendly to work with, and one of their mechanics has a lot of experience w/Subarus. All reasons that I'm happy to recommend them and would consider them in the future.

I came in pretty late in the day so I was expecting to have to leave my car for a few days. I was absolutely wrong they took care of me same day.
I drove down the road with AJ and he instantly knew what was wrong with my car. Ordered the part and fixed it within about 1.5 hours.
The front desk lady was pretty awesome and we had good conversation to make the time go by fast.
I love that they treat their customers like a friends and have office kitty’s that make the shop feel very homey.
AJ has the most honest auto mechanics I've ever met. His fees are fair and they don't pressure unnecessary repairs. Lucky has worked on our Subaru a few times and has done a great job. He has been totally up front about the car problem and estimated costs. We had one issue that was under their warranty and he fixed it with no questions and no hassle. They have been great about scheduling and getting our repairs done in a reasonable time.
I would highly recommend them for your auto needs from oil changes to minor and major repairs!
At first they provided good attention to work i required and were affordable. Later it appears that is not the case, much lacking, poor communication, and my need to seek another mechanic to fix the problems they created.
I went to Gunter Automotive to get a couple of quotes. The main guy & the lady at the front is really nice. The blonde lady, behind the little gate, is not at all. I will never go over there again
I have used them once before. they are reasonably priced, pleasant, friendly. I had to have a small job done. I had inquired at a few other places before once more returning there. I found lack of interest and outrageous prices at the other places. I called them Gunter up again and they said bring it in. They repaired it there and did not charge me an arm and a leg to install the part I brought in with me. the staff is wonderful. I would recommend to anyone to take their car there.. most honest mechanics I have ever met.
Most honest mechanic I've come across on the road, when my car broke down on the way to a family vacation the tow truck driver offered this shop as the best place to go in the area. I was expecting to get ripped off being on vacation out of town with no transportation and desperate, Gunter didn't just repair the car but he had it fixed the next morning on the weekend and well under $100. Between Top Knotch Towing and Gunter automotive my family got to enjoy an amazing vacation. If you ever get stuck in our around Knoxville or pigeon forge areas please do yourself a favor and give these guys a call, they will no disappoint.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!! AJ, his wife Joyce, Steve and Eddie are all TERRIFIC people. Our transmission broke down on our way to Florida from Canada. AJ had us back on the road with a new transmission within 48 hours... at a VERY FAIR COST. They provided us with rides back and forth to our hotel at no charge. WE CANNOT BE MORE GRATEFUL for the EXCELLENT WORK and GRERAT HOSPITALITY. If you have car troubles in this area ...GO TO GUNTER AUTOMOTIVE AND SEE AJ AND THE CREW!!!!!
Had the exhaust system fixed on my ex wife rav4. The person owns this repair shop is a Veteran an the work they do is much better than anyone around. The young lady that answers the phone is very pleasant an very helpful
It's a good place to get work done on your vehicle. They do brakes-tuneups - air conditioning- engine replacement and transmission work. The work on gas an diesel engines. The owner is a veteran an the rest of the folks are very friendly.
I normally do all my work myself so I know if I'm being mislead. I have no reservations about letting them work on anything of mine. They are honest and reliable people and I definitely recommend them to anyone. Thanks again for your help.
When a veteran owned business delivers great service it is no surprise. The same dedication to service that it takes to be a career soldier is on display here. They did a motor and transmission for me that works great. I trust them completely and would strongly recommend them for any work. I suggest calling ahead as they do tend to stay very busy.
AJ and his staff is wonderful! I was stranded with my Mom and dog 3.5 hours from home. They stayed 6 hours past closing time on a Saturday to try and get us safely back on the road. Dakota even gave us a lift to a pet friendly hotel. Kudos to you all! There are good people out there in this world and I was blessed to have them looking out for us. Thank you AJ, Dakota, and Cowboy for being outstanding human beings!!!
So my issues was getting a car from this place then having 3 engines replaced. All parts in their cars are from pull a part. Trying to charge me 1150 plus tax for maintenance and the engine when the engine costs 250 at Lambert's if not less.
I had transmission troubles on my ford Taurus. AJ and the whole crew took great care of me. Bless you folks for the love. If you need car repair or a tow give them a call. I will only go there from now on. Best auto care in east Tn. Merry Christmas folks!
My car broke down near this shop. It’s a VW. They said it needed a clutch and they could fix it. They tried to fix it and failed miserably. They put the clutch in backwards. Finally they said they didn’t know how to fix it after I waited a whole day and rented a hotel room. I had the car towed away and took it to another shop. They damaged the flywheel and it cost me $1500 to fix it.
They were trying to help me but had no idea what they were doing. In the end it cost me time and money.
Had my classic Ford fairlane 500 moved by gunter automotive wrecker division yesterday they did a wonderful job with no damage and at a great price, thanks AJ Gunter for being there for me. You guys are great.
The owner is a good Christian family man who has been a mechanic for many years. He used to work for Fox Chevrolet in the parts department. He can work on any model vehicle an his prices are very reasonable so give them a call. They are located on Clinton Hwy next to Weigles
They always take care of my automotive needs and always treat me right. The owner and staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and never take advantage of my limited car acuity. I recommend these guys to anyone.
We have had all of our vehicles worked on by Adrian and the whole Edge Auto crew! We would definitely recommend them to everyone looking for a local, fair priced shop, that does excellent work!

Adrian did the entire 2jzgte swap on my mkiii Supra. Extremely thorough, timely, and clean job. This car has been all over the country and I get constant comments in the swap quality. I absolutely recommend Adrian and his crew any day! Supra is on e85 now l, making about 800 at the wheels. Couldn't have enjoyed it without you guys!
