So happy that A1 Towing and repair has partnered with AAA. This is not the first time I've used A1 Towing and repair on Calhoun Ave and they are my go-to tower and repair shop. The staff is exceedingly friendly, and their drivers even more so. Today Hector came to tow the motorcycle, however, I forgot to mention to A1, when I spoke to them, that my driveway could not handle anything longer than 14 feet, and Hector's truck was longer. He stopped at the bottom of the drive to call me, so glad he did not try to go up. (our driveway was ruined by a Home Depot contractor when they took it upon themselves to try an 18 wheeler - disaster happened). Hector assured me I had nothing to worry about, and he parked his truck on the side by my mailbox and walked up the drive! It's not fun, to walk my driveway, but he always had a smile. He was able to start the motorcycle after a bit, and his confidence in his ability was shining. The motorcycle is now on its way to an authorized dealership for repairs and I know it is secure on the truck bed. I cannot tell you what a relief it was to have him take his job seriously, and with care for our property. Hector's kindness and respect was apparent, as all the drivers are, as well as the staff have shown me. Thank you, A1 Towing, for your assistance, as always, and AAA for having the sense to partner with you.
Whoever the lady is that answers the phone really pissed me off. First I called and I was quoted $175 and then she puts me on hold and returns to tell me it’s $330 that is ridiculous. She said there is a debris charge!!! $150 debris charge is RIDICULOUS. My fiancé was involved in a wreck and the tow company picked up the other car that was involved and he got up most of the big pieces with that pick up. I told her there is nothing left for him to pick up. What the hell was I going to be paying for??? For him to sweep up the damn leaves. She said the other lady was being charged the same like that was going to make it better!!!! They shouldn’t charge anyone that much to pick up pieces from a wreck. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!!! Screw them and her!!!! All they are doing is getting over on people. I wish I could give them no stars because I would!!!!
Broke down at 8:30pm at the start of a long drive and called AAA. They sent out Chip, who was awesome and so sweet. He loaded the car up and drove us and the car home in no time. He was great and hope the next person he helps has a great experience as well. Thanks Chip!
We were on vacation in Chattanooga and are truck acted up called A 1 for towing because they could also do repair (We have a big 3500 truck) so we needed a tow truck that could haul it and take care of it.They got it in ,found out it was just brakes got hot made pedal go funny.whatever but they didn't Gauge us for parts that wasn't needed.Told us the truth that's hard to find in a repair shop.I would go to them again and recommend anytime tks A1 you saved us .
Couldn’t recommend a company more, Today we were traveling home six hours away and we had car troubles. We were broke down with my two year old and I was hot and scared. Ashley is a literal saint and helped us in every way possible to get us back safe and on the road. Seriously so thankful we called them first. Towing or mechanical needs this is where you need to go. My driver, Scott, was amazing! He was prompt and courteous. He got my car out of a tight spot and handled it with care and respect. He made me feel safe to ride with him to the service center. His driving was very professional. He has great vibes! Made me feel like I was riding with an old friend! Cannot say enough good things about Scott!
When the bottom of my radiator cracked severely, I called A1. The young man who came in the tow truck arrived in a timely manner and was very efficient and careful in loading my car and ensuring it was secure. I then communicated with Ashley, who was amazing in letting me know what repairs were needed, cost and ways to save me money while still getting a quality repair. Anytime I texted her, she would respond promptly. She was always courteous, honest, kind, and respectful. When I went to pay, the ladies at the counter were efficient and very kind. I definitely recommend this company for both towing and repairs.
I was at a jet ski race in Hixson. I locked my keys in my truck and needed them out. The guy showed up quickly and was super helpful! I’d call them again.
We cannot thank Hector and the rest of the staff enough for getting us back on the road quickly after having our windshield smashed in the middle of our vacation. Hector eased our stress and went out of his way to make sure we were able to return safely to our hotel overnight. The staff were so helpful and kind, having our car cleaned out and safe to drive as soon as possible.
My wife got a flat tire and Kevin from A1 came out to help her out. My wife said he was the most professional and kindest person she had ever done business with. They repaired the tire and checked out the ABS system to make sure the car was safe. Ashley at the front counter was quick to respond and gave me a fair price for getting her back on the road. This place is a class-act! Highly recommended.
Dangerous and Unprofessional Behavior
I had an extremely dangerous encounter with a driver from A1 Towing. While on the road, the tow truck suddenly brake-checked me multiple times and used rear-facing bright loading lights that made it nearly impossible to see. At one point, the driver even ran me off the road.
This wasn’t just reckless—it was completely unacceptable and put lives at risk. Thankfully, the entire incident was caught on video, which I will be forwarding to the company owner and authorities. I strongly advise others to steer clear of this company until they address the behavior of their drivers and prioritize safety.

Roy took care of me, made me feel incredibly comfortable and helped me better understand what was happening with my car. As a young woman I was nervous to ride in a big car with a mechanic but not once did I feel uncomfortable with him! He made sure I felt seen and heard while remaining friendly snd respectful. Frustrating Experience with A1 Towing & AAA Battery Service
I had a highly disappointing encounter with A1 Towing & AAA Battery Service, particularly with one of their technicians, Cody. Despite providing a detailed explanation and a professional shop’s diagnosis indicating a fault in the battery, Cody was uncooperative and refused to acknowledge the issue. Multiple attempts to reason with him were met with resistance, making the situation unnecessarily stressful. It’s disheartening when you expect support and receive obstinance instead. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously undermined my trust in their service.
I did however get a replacement battery from AAA Napa and the vehicle started and runs fine.
