My mom and brother recently went there to have the lug nuts repaired that were broken off and to have the driver's side window repaired because it wouldn't stay up. Everyone else in Elizabethton that we spoke with would not repair the lug nut issue because they said it could turn into a nightmare and would likely be expensive and take awhile. They had an appointment at 8am and by noon it was all finished. They even replaced all the other lug nuts because they said the same issue would happen to those eventually because of the rust. And what we were told would be quite costly turned out to be very reasonable. The following week, the vehicle broke down. They had it towed to Custom Muffler and Brake because my mom really liked them the first time. They said it would probably not get looked at for a few days because of their schedule, and that was fine and made perfect sense. We understood. Well, they determined the fuel pump went out, ordered the part, and within a few hours that SAME DAY it was all done! And yes, they dropped the tank! My brother witnessed them doing this. So not only did they end up repairing it the SAME DAY instead of a few days, the cost was only $500 before the senior discount that they graciously added. Shocking is not the word for it. Amazed is not the word for it. Absolutely and whole-heartedly grateful for all they went above and beyond in doing sums it up. We would recommend them, without a doubt.
This place was recommended by a friend so I gave them a call. They were very professional and did an excellent job replacing my Volvo wheel speed sensor that was causing my ABS system to quit working. As a woman who does have some knowledge about cars, I very much appreciated that they listened to me. They treated me with respect and did a very good job analyzing the problem, recommending a solution and then completing the repair. Volvos are not easy to work on, so I am extremely happy to have found a garage where I can trust that my car will be repaired correctly and the charges will be reasonable. Highly recommend!
My experience was great! They worked me in quickly and diagnosed my problem and had me back on the road the same day. They also followed up with a phone call see if I was satisfied. Will definitely us e their services again.
I had a shop install an axle back exhaust for me and I trusted their work and when I got home it was wrong and they put the tips to close to my trim so I took it to Custom Muffler & Brake and they fixed it for FREE!!! BEST SHOP HANDS DOWN
This auto repair & muffler shop was most helpful as our car broke down and their mechanic diagnoised my vehicle and directed me to my local dealership, Friendship Hyundai. Custom Muffler contracted my towing and brought me to Enterprise for my rental. Ms. Shelia was very kind and gave us VIP treatment. We highly recommend this shop as we live in Hattiesburg and folks from the local businesses highly recommend them.
Very pleased with the service performed on my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. It was parked in my driveway a little over a year because I couldn't get it to start. I thought it was due to the catalytic converter. Once I got it towed they started working on it to diagnose the problem. Turns out it wasn't the catalytic converter but rather issues with the fuel pump and fuel filter. Before starting the repair Sheila (office manager) called me and told me what had to be done and the approximate cost. They got it fixed and the car is running great.

Passing through town needed muffler checked. Called Murphy's told me to bring it on over. They were super nice listen to it said it was ok we were on our way. Not from here but if I was I'd coming back for any repairs.
These folks are great very nice and friendly. Was on the road from Oregon when had some issues. I drove in, they dropped what they were doing got me in and worked on the car. They were fair on the price. I would recommend them all day long.
I had an issue with oil dripping on my exhaust manifold. I took it to Custom Muffler and they quickly were able to identify the problem, provided a fair estimate and got me scheduled in. While there, they mentioned that they do a pretty thorough check which they did. They found some additional issues that needed attention, again provided a fair estimate and completed the work on time. I couldn’t be happier with their performance I love my truck and they got it running great. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
The business is pleasant from the time you walk through the door till you leave. Steve is very attentive to what you tell him is going on with your car and what it may need. As I was driving down the road, my car suddenly started smoking like crazy. Being new to the area, I drove it cautiously to a nearby mechanic shop I remembered passing not knowing if they could help or not. I had barely pulled in to their lot and two gentlemen came right out and took action to assess the problem. They told me what they thought was wrong with it and said they could work it in to their schedule. They even gave me a ride home so I wasn’t stranded. A couple days later, they called and had it ready. They were kind enough again to pick me up and when I got there, I was happy to hear the repair was minor and the total cost was very reasonable. I visited with them about other things I had been needing to get done on the car and they said they could fix them also. I will definitely bring my car back again in the near future and highly recommend their services.
I have known Steve for more than 15 years. His shop has performed many types of maintenance on my vehicles from motor homes to cars and trucks. He is honest and top notch. He work is fantastic! I would recommend Steve and is automotive shop for any of your maintenance needs.
This shop does outstanding work and customer service is great. It's because they are so good at their job, that simply EVERYONE wants to take their car there for repairs, so that creates lengthy days or even weeks before one can get their car back! But, having Steve and his crew doing the work, it is worth the wait.
Not a good experience. Tech came out during a meeting with owner and interrupted us and literally said my car was a piece of crap and don’t bring it back because he won’t work on it. I have no idea what his problem is as this was the first time I’ve ever been there to have work done. Guy was super aggressive. I work in the service industry and if my employee spoke to a client like that then they wouldn’t be an employee anymore. I hate it too becuase the owner and front desk lady are awesome. Super helpful and polite. It’s a shame one person can ruin a good thing.
My car had been in there Saturday July 12 When it was brought to them my husband explained what the issue was my timing chain had broke. They then told him my car didn't have a timing chain only a belt. Later they called told us it was the chain.. it would take a week to get checked out. 2 weeks later they had done nothing stating the shop was getting new equipment no one had been able to quote a price. My husband called again price was given for the part. August 6 my husband went in person the part had finally arrived the car would be ready August 7. We received news my engine was bad now for a used part it would be 6k. Something we could not pay for a different shop gave us a better price we were told it would be 180 for labor. It was 416 when my husband arrived at the shop. I will not EVER recommend this place. For just diagnostic testing no labor that I was ever made aware of nothing was fixed.I have children and need my vehicle as do others between front desk misquoting lack of communication to us the customer this shop is at 0 for me.
