Nordstrom's Auto Recyclers JunkYard in Garretson (SD)

Hard to find item for was located at Nordstroms. Rodney was a pleasure to deal with. And crazy fast delivery in less than 48 hours from Garretson SD to Detroit MI . Pretty Good!

After searching for 3 months, I purchased an engine from Nordstrom's Automotive on July 16, 2024 for my 2001 Ford Escort ZX2 that had 252,468 miles on it. John, the salesman at Nordstrom told me that the engine was recovered from a crash test vehicle that was tested for suspension and it only had 99 miles on it!!! When it was delivered and my mechanic installed it, he told me that it was the cleanest used engine on the inside that he had ever seen in his life. He said it did not require any gaskets or seals and everything looked new. There was no dry rot. I have driven my car an additional 4,000 miles since the engine was installed and it is operating like brand new. The gears honestly seem to change faster. I am crazy about my old car that's paid for and in great shape. The purchase of this engine helped me avoid buying a newer car and avoiding a car note. Thanks Nordstrom's!!

Call was answered quickly, part was located and shipped overnight. Less than 24 hours and the repair was completed. Photos were texted to me. Online payment was super easy. Just a great experience overall.

I took my 15 year old son, who is a huge auto enthusiast to Nordstrom's to walk around and look at old cars. We paid our entrance fee and off we went. We walked and talked for almost 2 hours while looking at cars. Half way through the lot we came to a large gate that said Do Not Enter on either side. The gate was wide open, pushing the signs aside. I took this to mean the Do Not Enter was valid when the gate was closed but when it's open they are pushed to the side, negating the message. As a middle aged woman I admit that I may be ignorant to the happenings of a salvage yard, I've never been to one before. We walked up and down isles running into many employees on our journey, no one said a thing. We didn't mess with anything or disrupt any vehicles. At the very end of our day we walked toward the gate to leave and an employee approached my son and advised we couldn't be in that area. We quickly left the area. We were met at the main building by a few angry men as if we were a pair of criminals on the loose. The older man started belittling my 15 year old son and eventually me as well when I tried to take the focus off of my child. We were called stupid, ignorant and a few other unkind names. I made an error by misinterpreting a sign and for that my son was called names and bullied by aggressive and very rude old man. We apologized but the name calling kept going. It was a bit traumatizing to say the least. I'm surprised we weren't hung on site. I've never really been in a situation like this, the simple "you can't be in this area" prompted us to leave immediately. I didn't expect the agressive verbal assault on a sunny Friday afternoon. Yikes!

After awhile of searching for Running Boards for my truck with no luck finding any locally. I found a nice set here and purchased them. Great experience and friendly staff. They shipped them to me in Wisconsin and the shipping was fast! They even included the mounting hardware which seems rare for salvage yards to do. Highly recommend!

Left a message on chat , someone contacted me very quickly . He got all the details ( brand ,model , year etc etc ) and the photos from the needed part . Was ship very fast in a put in a box with very protected way . Will definitely recommend it and will buy again if I need it and if they have the parts . Thank you

Dustin was absolutely amazing. Originally I purchased a differential but it wasn't going to be available for a couple weeks. He did some voodoo magic and found me a newer differential from a different provider for only a fraction of the cost. He was very helpful and understanding and was able to get me my part so I could get on the road and back to work fast.gice this man a raise!

I used the text message option to try to find rims for my 2021 Redline Traverse. Within minutes I had a response of what was available and a very short time later, I had pictures sent to my phone. I got tires as a bonus. Closed the deal and picked them up 3 days later. They were perfect and a great deal! A simple and easy process!

These guys are awesome!!!!! I was coming from North Dakota and running a few hours late which meant I would get there after they close. I gave them a call at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday before a holiday weekend because the other place in Grand forks North Dakota did not have what I was looking for even though they said they would. They were super helpful and friendly and willing to pull something at the last minute and stick it in the after hours for me. They made it super easy and sent me a payment link via text for the parts I needed. Paid it with Google pay. And that was off the phone with them in like 5 minutes. Everyone else I talked to enroute to Sioux Falls South Dakota said they would not be able to get any parts for me pulled until Tuesday which sucks because I was making a quick trip there and back. If you're looking for parts for your vehicle, these guys are the real deal. Definitely worth going out of your way to visit them.

I purchased a replacement engine form Nordstrom's Automotive in August, it was for my 2003 BMW 325i which originally had a blown head gasket. Dustin quoted a great price and when things got a bit difficult he hung in there! The shipping was fast, shipped in 2 days! My mechanic put in the motor which took about a month but I'm driving again! I give this company 5 stars! Ask for Dustin! -Rashawn. W

An absolute joke, from supposed part pull and ship, two weeks go by and nothing. Call and "looks like we didn't write down your shipping, will get that out today" another week I call back, "any news on the part what's the tracking number" to they reply I'll email you the tracking number..... never got anything. Use the text line for help and no answer. After a MONTH. No part, and have to call again for a refund. Very disappointing after all the good reviews. Never using them again.
