Rescued! I misjudged my low fuel light... very embarrassing. I was on I-90 near the Salem exit, so I did a Google search. I called & they sent someone right out & got me squared away. In the city, i would have had to pay 3-5 times what they charged me. Everyone involved was incredibly friendly. Small town South Dakota charm. Thank you all so much!
AutoEx is the only place I have been going to for all my car servicing needs. Travis is very knowledgeable. They are reasonably priced and upfront with everything.
I wouldn't recommend this place. I made the mistake of taking my wife's van to them for some parts and an alignment. They charged me for a ball joint, sway bar links, and analignment. 2 1/2 weeks later the passenger side outer tie rod nut comes off, tire rod came out and the tire caved inward. They are trying to tell me that they're not responsible for the outer tie rod issue cause they didn't touch it. Employee that did the alignment, or shop manager, tells me that the tie rod was installed incorrectly after looking at it on the trailer when it came back to them on the wrecker. They refused to fix it. I had 38 towing go get it and take it to their shop. That shop fixed the outer tie rod and called me with the unfortunate news that my inner tie rods are shot. The owner of AutoEx called me back to understand why I feel it's their fault. During an alignment inspection, they check out all components that are involved with the steering of the vehicle, my question is how comes they didn't tell me that the outer tie rods were installed incorrectly if they did an alignment? How did they not notice the inner tie rods were shot? Now we're headed to small claims court!
They really know their business where vehicles are concerned. They can also work on RV's. I don't worry that they are going to take advantage of my ignorance of vehicles and I trust their advise and guidence.
Wow! AutoEx is spot on! Rodney drove me home after I dropped my truck off and then picked me up to drive me back to the shop when they were done with my 4runner. They did an oil change, coolant flush and fixed the hood latch. Plus, they removed the duct tape from my hood and washed all of my windows, and added air to my tires. Above and beyond what I expected. THANK YOU!
Great people .Travis and Rodney went above and beyond to get us back on the road . We had a brake repair done. Rodney ran to get parts from a neighboring town and Travis worked some major magic at great inconvenience to himself , after hours, to take care of us. Couldn’t be more impressed.
My girlfriend and I started having car issues just outside Salem on our way for a camping trip to Glacier, so we gave AutoEx a call. When we pulled in 10 minutes later, Travis was already waiting for us at the door with a friendly greeting and immediately started servicing us. The diagnosis was ultimately unfavorable, despite his obvious skill and expertise, but we were treated with respect and patience, and he gave us plenty of recommendations and options for dealing with the issue, which equipped us with enough confidence to proceed. We left feeling like we’d hit the luck jackpot. I cannot recommend the fine folks at AutoEx enough.
We have a class A RV. The most amazing and talented mechanic, Travis, came to us and fixed our RV issues when we broke down. This guy was sharp - really knew his stuff. Can't even express how impressed we were with the service. We HIGHLY recommend this company.
Their availability to help us with 2 new tires was outstanding, so that we were able to continue our trip back home. We were there as soon as they opened and were back in the road in about 2 hrs or less, price was right and everyone was really courteous while we wait for the car. Overall great experience!
I cannot day enough good about this company! We had a tire blown on our 5th wheel on Route 90 yesterday causing damage to the underside of the camper. We managed to get the tire changed but needed help with the other damage. Our campground gave us the name of Travis to see if he could help us. What a HUGE help they were!! When the tire blew it tore the propane line right out. Travis arrived at 8am this morning and spent the day making this repair. Thursday morning they will install 4 new tires for us. I cannot say enough good about them. We are 1200 miles away from home and this type of help is such a huge relief!
These guys fixed my car when it broke down on a road trip, and I couldnt have been more blessed! They made sure my camper was in a safe location and that I was able to contact them if I had any issues. They worked hard to get me back on the road. We will never forget Salem, SD! 😊❤🙏
If you ever need service in & around Salem, including along I-90, give these guys a call. They not only towed my vehicle from around the Madison exit to their shop, but they also helped me find the parts to fix it same-day. They stayed late just to change my tire & make sure I could get back on the road, even if I couldn’t buy the parts from them. Very kind & knowledgeable. Didn’t overcharge me, even though I was desperate & would have paid far more for their service & time. 10/10, would recommend. Thank you all so much!!

These guys are kind, professional and knowledgeable. I don't imagine there is anything they can't do. A great experience to avoid a headache when it comes to your automobile!
We had a flat tire while traveling on the interstate and I called told them the issue and they where more than helpful telling me to come there and they would see if they could help when we got there they came out checked tire size and started looking for a suitable replacement the tech in the shop was working on our tire as soon as we got in the door with it very nice and professional overall. For the experience we had they made it a lot easier.

We blew a tire in the interstate and the guys at AutoEx were fantastic! They found us a tire,mounted it and had us back on the road in less than 20 minutes. Super efficient, helpful and friendly!! I'd give them 10 stars if I could!!
