What clients say about Milltown Island Park in Parkston (SD)
What a pleasant surprise. I was planning on staying at another campground. Pulled in here by mistake. I didn’t leave. Very nice location right on a riverbank. Facilities were not top grade but location was nice. Terrain was flat and made setup easy.
This place is nice because it's tucked away from everything and it's cheap. There are also a few spots to catch catfish. Has a really nice playground if you have kids. That's it tho.
The water pump does not work, so bring water for washing or drinking. There are constantly cars slowly driving around the campground who aren't staying there. At night, younger locals park near the water and play music loudly and drink.
It feels a little sketchy. Sign states no firearms allowed. I'd ignore the sign if you plan on staying in a tent.
Also, we attempted to hang hammocks, but half of the trees are dead or rotting at the base. I wouldn't not suggest hammock camping here.
