This will forever be my go to spot for everything auto related while I live in the area. I’ve made multiple in store purchases as well as a trailer tire and recently had a brand new tire repaired. Short story short - I had a double nail puncture in my brand new truck tire which had 5k miles on it. I went to discount tire and before they even looked at my tire they were trying to sell me a new one. Once they looked at it they told me it couldn’t be repaired and had to be replaced. I took it for it for what it was and bought a new tire. Took my “broken” tire to cooks and Tim (tire guy/mechanic) patched jt and told me the tires will go bald before the nail holes affect the tire. All of the older employees are extremely knowledgeable and kind dudes! Support this business, they are very reasonably priced and an honest auto shop/mechanic!

The folks are friendly and will help you make the best decisions on parts. They will openly share their vehicle knowledge with you. It seems like the parts they supply are also available at O rileys. Maybe they are part of the same network.

My first stop for all my automotive needs. Super friendly staff and fair prices. They have the ONLY shop that I trust to actually work on my vehicles, when I'm not doing it myself.

We've been Cook's customers for about 5 years now and they have been great to us. I feel fortunate to have found them on a whim when my husband PCSed us here. They are close to base and they have always been trustworthy, reliable, and have exceptionally affordable rates for the work they do.

Mr. Cook is a wonderful store owner and his business definitely deserves all five stars. I highly recommend this place for all of your auto parts supplies. He is a down to earth, solid all around good man and a military veteran. With a fair price on parts and the ability to special order parts, I’ll only shop here from now on.

Great group of people. Much rather give my money to local businesses than chain stores

I'd give more than 5 stars if that was an option. Fantastic service! Went above and beyond to help my daughter and I broke down on I-95!

Do not take your vehicle anywhere else in the Sumter/Dalzell area. I have been doing business with Cook's for two years now and I do not have a negative thing to say. Bobby, Rusty, and Mike the mechanic are the main POC's I deal with. Anything from oil changes to replacing wheel bearings they do it all and at a dirt cheap price. If you live on base and need a tow they will come pick you up for around $25 and diagnose your issues immediately. They always have a great attitude and treat their customers very well. Finally, regardless of gender they do not treat you like you are stupid/uneducated. Call Cook's and give them a try!!!

Great local auto shop. Every time I've been here I've received great customer service and my vehicle issues have been resolved accurately and promptly. Very friendly people.

I've been to the shop a few times concerning minor issues with all three of my vehicles. Each time I've been here the service was friendly and professional and my vehicle issues were resolved in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. After going to numerous shops throughout the area, Cook's is the mechanic shop I've been looking for and will continue to go to them for all me vehicle repair needs.

Great local auto store. They always seem to have the part that I am looking for. Everyone that I have came in contact with is always courteous and eager to help. Even though some just can't hear the same anymore lol. They are in the middle of remodeling and I'm excited to see the finished product.

On June 29th 2013 My Insurance sent out a roadside assistance person to provide my 98 Honda Civic EX a battery jump. A gentleman named Charles who also goes by "Peanut" arrived and proceeded to Connect a charge pack to my battery terminals at witch I tried starting my engine witch had just run perfectly fine 3 hours prior that day. My engine did not start after a few more attempts and Charles then proceeded to remove the charge pack and place it back in his Cook's Auto Parts business truck. He then came back and said "Your timing is off". He then proceeded to loosen my distributor and rotate it while simultaneously pulling on the throttle cable and telling me to again attempt to start it.at the time I knew very little about cars and now know that is NOT something to do. After a few attempts of trying to start it my engine began shaking violently and back firing and then making grinding sounds intermittently while Charles held open the throttle and rotated the distributor as a whole with the engine running in roughly to say the least. He also moved my spark plug wires as well. After my wife and a friend of hers that she works with on Shaw AFB arrived home and seen what Charles was doing I decided the continuing with what he was doing was not good for my engine. I have filed a Claim with my Insurance for what was done to my Car. I have had a mechanic come out to my residence and determine what was the problem and if it had been caused by Charles's actions. My mechanic determined after removing all four spark plugs and watching him as he did so that Charles's moving and rotating of the distributor had messed up the timing of my engine and had bent and broken valves in my engine, so clear with this diagnosis that fuel vapor plumed out of the spark plug tubes for several minutes. I am currently working with the Cook's so that they may see the damage caused by their employee and repair and fix as necessary or if they decide they will not solve what their employee did then I will have my car fixed elsewhere and hire a lawyer to pursue the costs of fixing it.
