I brought several incredibly heavy truck wheels, and the employee who was supposed to receive them was not only drunk and behaving inappropriately, but also made me load them myself in two rows. My back hurt afterwards and I got my clothes dirty. What did I pay money for?
I see other people have complained about a guy at the Brown sign Demolition location. I don't know if it is the same guy but today I came close to losing my religion. I pulled in and he was just standing there looking. There are no signs directing drivers to any location. I saw a truck backed in so I swung my truck around and proceeded to back in the direction of the other truck. He completely lost his crap. Yelling that I should have pulled to the stop sign and I have no idea what i am doing. First off I am a grown man so he caught all that yelling right back. I asked him why didn't he wave me to where he needed me to go and he just walked off. I get out to lower my gate as i was in a dump truck and he then yells over that if I drop my trash right there he would call cops. I asked if he was serious because who would just drop there load up by the sign. I sat there asking him where does he need me to go and he pulls out his phone and tries calling someone and apparently went to voicemail. So another truck pulls up and he partially directs them to the correct location after yelling several times to them to keep backing up. So I pulled around to the stop sign and asked if I pull by them. He tells me to turn around and back up down beside the other truck. Mind you I was backing up to the same are to start with. It really took everything in me to not give him back all that energy. I don't know who pissed him off or if he is just naturally that anal but he might want to be careful because you just might run into someone who is having a rough day also and that might not end well. People also need to remember that it is our very taxes that pay their checks
My complaint isn’t with the landfill or the ladies at the scale house, but whoever is the guy working at the recycling section.
I saw him go back and forth jumping on a man unloading tires (he had a trailer load). The county employee kept being rude and acting like he wanted to pick a fight. An older couple came in too needing to unload tires and the tire man stopped unloading his trailer and went and helped this older couple. The landfill employee then started jumping on him in front of myself and others there for helping the older couple.
I don’t know who’s in charge of the landfill employees, but I would be ashamed if that landfill man was working for me. I only had to drop off a TV and I have no desire to go back there again.
Everything at Wellford Landfill itself is fine, but I have to give 1 star because of one employee. He is an older man with a mustache and longer hair, and he works at the brown section where construction garbage is dropped off. His attitude has caused me to lose a lot of time and nerves more than once, and I know I’m not the only one — I’ve heard many similar complaints from others.
I don’t understand why he treats me this way. Maybe it’s because of my language or background, I’m not sure, but it feels unfair and unprofessional. Today because of his behavior I missed the bank deadline for paying my rent and now I’ll have to pay a late fee.
If I return in the future and he is no longer there, I will gladly change this review to 5 stars. Please take this feedback seriously — I know I am not the only customer who has had this experience.
This is a great asset for the County. Workers at the entrance are very helpfull. The workers at the paint and oil building have a chair nailed to them. What a waste of taxpayers money. Maybe there are to many people on shift.
So I get it it’s only a dump but people that work there they get paid. They should actually feel like they’re not inconvenience when you show up. Say maybe say hello maybe get off your phone it’s kind of ridiculous. I just had a very funny experience there.
Took a dishwasher up there today and they told me I had to get in line and take it back into the landfill. I was there last week and threw a vinyl hot tub in the dumpsters up front no problem. Why do I have to go into the landfill all the sudden. The people right up the street will take appliances for scrap. It's pretty sad I couldn't just back up and throw the appliance in there I'm a disabled veteran and I'm pretty pissed off about it.
Yard debris must now be taken to the commercial portion of the facility, which requires waiting behind long lines of dump trucks and navigating horribly maintained "roads".
I have lived here all my life and have never seen the inside of the dump in this bad of condition, the roads are falling apart you have to drive what is seems like 2 miles inside the dump through horrible roads and debris just to dump a small brush pile not to mention with all of the people moving down here the lines of vehicles and wait times are getting out of hand this small town is just not equipped to handle all of this extra traffic and trash that is going through this landfill I don’t know where all the tax dollars are going but it’s sure not going to our roads or landfill now I have to hope and pray I did not catch a nail or something in my tires driving through that mess
Best to go Tuesday to Thursday as Monday and Friday are backed up and Friday will get backed up.
Has an area for cardboard recycle and for general recycle. Go inside to deposit batteries and oil.

And I forgot to send credit card with one of my guys and I had just told him to ask them. Could they get payment over the phone or add it to the next bill that would be probably the same day or next day
They were rude and said turn around and leave
They see us come in there all the time so they know we’re going to be back
But they care less about the little company that just cost us an extra $50 labor to get treated rude and not respected
The first question was asked of what you had when they knew what you had they directed you in the proper spots and it was perfect everybody was polite and courteous and new there job very well and you're able to take up the 5 tires each time
Please get new management. No landscape debris without driving back on the dump with the commercial vehicles. Last thing I want to do is cut a tire at the dump. And this is our tax dollars at work. Now I can see why people dump their stuff on the side of the road. Media should do a story and get people fired.
This is the most disgustingly organized place not only in the US, but apparently in the World. Nowhere in the World will you find a more contemptuous attitude towards people. The work of receiving tree branches is organized here in the worst possible way. The loss of a huge amount of time is guaranteed for residents here. It is surprising that not a single major media outlet has made a report about this place where work is organized in the most stupid way possible and in order to make this place as inconvenient as possible for people. It is clear that the US authorities who organized it absolutely did not care about the people. But I ask the world media to pay attention to this. This place is the best example of how the authorities can despise people as much as possible.
I had to wait in line for an hour when there were multiple areas per bin to park. They do not allow multiple cars through at one time and tell you where and in what bin to place your materials that are being discarded or recycled. They look in your vehicle to confirm what is being discarded or recycled.
TLDR: take your recyclables somewhere else.
Came here because it's one of the few locations that takes scrap metal. Got to get rid of a dozen of old notebook and binder rings, but the attendants instructed me to toss all my plastics and paper products into the generic trash dumpster, which entirely defeats the purpose of recycling. Don't come here if you actually WANT to recycle.
It's always easy to get in and out to get your trash gone. There's never too long of a wait. Employees are efficient and keep things moving well. A couple Employees are a little more difficult and have an attitude with people but overall things are good.
This place has become the most inefficient operating landfill around. The stem time for tipping a load has been over an hour, the roughest haul roads I’ve encountered and the attitude is just deal with it. They could certainly expedite things just by segregating commercial and personal needs. Separate areas would have a much needed positive impact.
A Totally awesome dump!!! You can throw away pretty much anything, from old appliances to every kind of household trash. We went with our 5x8 trailer and our E-350 van loaded to the gills with junk. The wait time was close to none and the staff were so friendly. Great job guys!
Terrible customer service skills, she gave me some number to call about my problem, I did call that number no one answered, meanwhile Trying to find someone to talk, I called back same number accidentally, as soon as she heard my voice, she started raising her voice and started telling me, you just called here and she hang up. It is so hard be nice and do your job and help the people who need a help. Why do you need to raise your voice to get upset and hang up on people, if you are taking a job that requires help from people you have to be painful.
People need to be respectful and not break in line. Man in white truck drove through entrance straight down into the do not enter where cars are leaving out. He drove into the line as if he had the right of way "privilege people". They should put cones across there so that cars cannot enter in.
1. Has an area for small loads of non-garbage refuge; fast in and out. Helpful staff.
2. Larger loads can/must be taken to the major commercial disposal area (not a place for a sedan; OK for SUV or Pick-up).
3. Electronics and any appliances (washers, dryers, TVs,& metal) all go to a 3rd area for recycling - access road OK for sedans.

The recycling part of the landfill is much better than the dump part . If you have anything that can't go in the dumpsters, and you are directed to the dump part of the landfill, expect to spend a long time in line and if you are able to make it up the hill without getting stuck, consider yourself lucky. This place is a real disaster, even for a landfill! The people that direct you are nice enough but when you get to the top of the big muddy, mushy hill, these people are not the kind of people that should be in a position to do anything that would require them to have to talk to anyone. They are rude and smarta$$.We pay for using this place and the very least they could do is make a road that a regular pickup truck can travel without getting stuck.If I could give less than one star I would!
Got to the gate at 4:29 (they close at 4:30) and wasn't allowed to come in and had even called ahead because we were almost in an accident had to get out and check our stuff which made us run late. But we had a dump trailer which wouldn't of taken but a minute to dump our stuff. When I called them instead of the lady asking the guy to hold off for one second she just held me on the phone watched him shut the gate and told me sorry! Which I felt was rude since I had called and explained what happened. We live quiet a far distance away to top it all off.. I wouldn't feel so rotten about it if I hadn't called and explained our situation and again let them know we had a dump trailer too.
