I strongly don't recommend this place. I took my vehicle in because the engine was overheating and the AC stop working. Also, ask for an oil change. They did a full diagnostic test and 969.00 dollars later they claimed it was fixed. By the time I got home the car was overheating, AC not working, and the oil light was on. I discovered after checking youtube videos that it was probably the fuse (Which I suggested to the manager from the start). Youtube was right! When I took the car back, the manager was very defensive and eventually left the room and slammed the door behind him like an angry teenager. So, I ended up spending 969.00 for a fuse! Beware of this place with their deceptive veneer of professionalism and diagnostic incompetence.
The staff at Harris Automotive were great to work with—pleasant, informative, and really knowledgeable. I had a lot of work done on my truck, and they handled it all with care and expertise. If you need major repairs—engine, suspension, or anything else—I highly recommend visiting Harris Automotive. You’ll have peace of mind knowing the job will be done right!
Don't go to this place if you are elderly or female. They will try and milk you for every penny you have all the while acting like they care about your safety & the safety of your vehicle. They did that with my Moms car. They did all kinds of unnecessary "testing" that did not need it & they even charged for a battery cleaning when the battery was literally brand spanking new. All they REALLY did was replace the Alternator & the bill was over a thousand dollars. *NOTE* while looking at other bad reviews for this place I noticed a pattern of them saying that you were not in their database and acting like you just must have made a mistake with your review. To save them some time with that one, the bill was in my moms name.
Very happy to have found this shop. Excellent work in a timely fashion. Met with Cory (service mgr) to have some issues reviewed; received a timely and accurate estimate, and most of all I appreciated his being up front and honest regarding my repair concerns. Thank you.
Great service and excellent communication. Everybody there makes sure I'm crystal clear on expenses and timing. They honor their warranties and have competitive pricing.
I called and got Al on the phone. Explained what we had going on with our work truck and Al said it would probably be 2-3 weeks before they could get it in the shop due to being backed up because of losing power for a week. He gave a few tips that we had not looked at and it was in fact the issue. I thought we had a bigger problem with electrical than we had. Big thank you to Al.
Can’t recommend the team at Harris Automotive enough. They are honest, reliable and punctual and I will forever take my car here and recommend them to everyone I know. Their work is top notch and they stand behind it. 10/10 recommend!
**Local Mechanic vs National Mechanics**
A month ago, my husband's business truck began experiencing skipping issues and couldn't drive faster than 20 miles per hour without the risk of stalling. We scheduled an appointment with a nearby national general car repair shop. However, we were informed that the problem was beyond their expertise and advised to take our Dodge Ram 1500 back to the dealership in Greenville. They estimated that repairing the engine component would cost us a couple of thousand dollars.
Trusting my intuition, I decided to search for a local mechanic via Google reviews. I came across Harris Automotive and, just as you are reading my review, I was highly impressed with the many wonderful reviews. I decided to call and spoke with the wonderful Cory. From the moment he answered the phone, he was kind, compassionate, helpful, and honest. He informed me that their expert mechanic would be going on vacation and they wouldn't be able to service us until his return. Cory also understood the urgency of the situation, given that my husband's business relied on the truck, and assured me that it was okay if we had to go elsewhere.
Despite this, I felt that Harris Automotive was the right choice. What was expected to be an expensive repair, due to the labor-intensive nature of the part removal, turned out to be significantly less costly than the initial quote from the national shop. Actually, the truck has never run better!
If you're reading this review, PLEASE don't hesitate to call Al, Cory, and Amy at Harris Automotive. You will be incredibly grateful, just as we are! They have become our mechanics for life!

I have had several major issues with my high mileage 2015 Ford Explorer Sport. Each and every issue has been repaired by Harris Automotive with outstanding results. Prices have been very reasonable, communication has always been outstanding and the work was done in a timely manner. Without a doubt the best service I can remember in many years.
This is by far the best mechanic shop I've ever dealt with. I took my truck there for rough engine problems and not only did they say they could fix it, a gentleman named Corey actually sat down with me and went into detail what he was going to do to get to the exact problem. Afterwards he contacted me with exactly what was wrong and corrected the exact problem. Very great and friendly service. I will be using them for everything from now on!
Cory and Al are both great mechanics and always keep in touch before doing any work to your vehicle. They also have one of the best turn around times that I have seen in the state.
I know I am not the only one who absolutely has a heart attack when it comes to engine troubles with your car. But when you have two cars at the same time giving you trouble, just call the coroner. I called Harris Automotive in a absolute panic. I left a message and honestly with my past experience with mechanics I was not expecting a call for hours if not days. Amy called me back within minutes and got the relevant information. She told me Al would get a quote together and call me at the latest tomorrow. Al called me back in less than a hour. Not only was he able to help me get my son's car to Kia using his connections and knowledge but it might be covered somewhat in cost. Now true I am taking my son's car to Kia to be fixed but I am having my car towed to Harris. This is what customer service, honest and genuine good people doing business look like. Save your heart the stress and give them a call. I promise you, you will not regret it.
I sent my son there to have his brakes checked and repaired / replaced. They inspected the vehicle and said that the brakes were ok and did not need replacement. They did not change us. I will definitely use them in the future for all of my vehicle repairs as they are honest and do good work.
Great service, found my go to place to have my car serviced.They repaired my car way cheaper than the dealership where I bought my car from was going to. Very helpful and friendly people. They gave me a 2 year warrenty for the parts and labor and two free roadside assists in the warranty. Can't say enough good about them and Cory my mechanic. Thank you guys! Linda (Susan)
Went to this other shop, they say they cannot fix my car, so came to Harris Automotive services for the first time, they fixed my car, friendly customer service, price is less than what I expected, and fast service. Happy customer here, would definitely recommend them :)

Took my car here to have the engine replaced in my 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Al and his team were absolutely great. They did a bunch of research for me and were able to provide me with the best options. Throughout the entire process Al and Cory kept me updated and informed. The shop was very nice and clean and all the staff were very friendly. My car is running great with no issues. The only shop I will take all 3 of my vehicles. Highly recommended.

They worked on my Cadillac Deville and was having trouble at first but they did all that they could to fix any issues. I am not fond of the extra charges but they were very understanding and easy to work with. I think I found my new mechanic for all my auto needs.
I've taken my '01 Jetta here multiple times to be serviced. The staff is trustworthy, helpful, and dependable. They take pride in customer service and get the job done faster than any shop I've been to in the Upstate. I come back to this shop because I can trust that my best interest is always their top priority. They never pressure me into sales, decisions, or upsell me anything...which is a rarity to come by as a woman maintaining a cash car by myself. Harris Automotive performs well above expectation and always displays top notch integrity and ethics in their work. I recommend this shop to everyone in the Upstate!
I brought my car here after being told it needed an alignment and then tie rod ends and THEN, at Greenville Automotive, at least one strut and then the tie rod ends AND the alighment...close to $1000, more if the other strut 'needed' replacement.
The entire issue was a bad shake while driving.
We do most of our own major repairs but it would still be close to $400 for all the parts I needed. So, I called Harris after reading the great reviews.
After 15 min in the waiting room with the very friendly receptionist, Cory came to get me. He showed me the back tires had huge bulges and were about to blow. I spent $70 at Guaranteed Tire and Auto right down the road and BAM, problem solved. Saved nearly $1000 taking it here. And there was no sales pressure, everyone was super friendly and the guys respectfully answered all my questions. Would recommend to anyone. A great experience!
Harris automotive is great. Very trust worthy and they did a free inspection on my car and gave me a list of what needs repaired or what to keep on eye on. They were not pushy on trying to force me into getting work done on my car. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a great automotive service.
We had BAD engine trouble on the road between Asheville, NC and Charleston, SC (our intended destination). Like smoke coming out from under the hood, the engine overheated off the charts, and the engine died every time we'd get under 20 mph. My wife was on the phone pretty much yelling "Mayday! We're coming in hard..." and Al at Harris told her to bring it on in. Well, the truck died in the lot at Harris, and two things stand out to me the most about this place.
Number one, Al didn't try to sell us anything. It turned out the engine was shot and replacing it would have cost about the same as the truck was worth. He warned us ahead of time that it might not be worth it.
Number two, he and his staff did a phenomenal job of calming down the two of us, and our two youngsters (4 and 2) on a 95 degree day when we'd never driven in SC before, not to mention Spartanburg. He was able to calmly explain our options, reassure us, and even called up a hotel and a rental car company for us (it was approaching 5 pm and we didn't know what to do...). We ended up renting a car and then leasing a new one in Charleston, so Harris didn't actually perform service for us. But I would absolutely trust them to do so if we ever needed it, since they gave us truthful information, validated our concerns and didn't try to rip us off...just good service and help when we REALLY needed it, like when we were on vacation far from home (Chicago) and our truck just died on us.
Used Harris Automotive for over 20 years with 8 different cars from Jeeps & Buicks to Hondas. They have always been reasonable, dependable & trust worthy. With their software they keep up with each car repair record. Extremely important in maintenance.Each time l carry a car in they have a courtesy check of the entire auto. Hard to beat!
Harris has been nothing but outstanding in service and quality. They gave me estimates up front on 2 different cars. Gave me options on what i want to think about doing before i made any decisions. They called and got other estimates for me when something was going to be pricey on a transmission. They've looked into everything i had questions about, they diagnosed my cars honestly and the prices have been extremely reasonable and competitive. They've worked around MY schedule and are extremely friendly. I will be referring my friends and family to Harris and will be going to them in the future with any automotive problem that i have. I've taken it to Harris 3 times and being that I'm a young female I know for a fact that they've gotten over on me. I have an 02 Honda and they charged me $130 to fix my lock that started to sink in the door, they charged me $400 for brakes, and this last time I was told it'd be $120 for a new radiator hose. I dropped it off on a Monday and agreed to pick it up in a week on to get to next Monday and they had no papers on my car meaning they didn't know they even had it. They "got to work" the same day and told me it'd be ready at 6 but I get there and they're saying it's going to be $369 only for my "new radiator pipe" to bust in the next month! I'm convinced they get over on people and I'm HIGHLY dissatisfied. I'd say fix your car yourself before taking it to them!
I took my car to Harris Automotive for the second time and again I was pleased with their service. They are always friendly, their prices are fair, and they always allow me to ask as many questions as I want without making me feel like I am a bother. On top of great service...they vaccumed out my car!!!

I just moved to SC last year and I was looking for an auto place in the area that would be upfront with me and not try to take advantage of me and thank goodness I found Harris Automotive! I love them and every time I go in its like talking to family. They are so willing to talk you through everything and help you if you need a ride while your car is in the shop and one time I had no clue I overpaid and they sent me a card with a check in it. Just real honest and down to earth people!
