What clients say about Spartanburg County Recycling Collection Center in Lyman (SC)
First: It is a dump. Don't mean that in a bad way. It is a place to dump trash. Generally I use it for excess cardboard, packing materials, and discarded excess from projects around the house.
Second: This is a small location and doesn't take much beyond general bags of house waste, cardboard, and a few various discarded fluids (cooking oil, motor oil etc.). There is a larger one that will take larger items a bit farther away, but for my purpose this once serves me well.
Third: yes, this place can (especially in the summer) have a bit of a smell, but what dump doesn't. After all it is a dump.
They don't take......plastic, tin, aluminum, glass. Just paper & cardboard. That was a useless out of the way trip for me. You owe me gas. I did not see where you take plastic. Just garbage & cardboard
The staff are awesome and I always look forward to a little chit chat if I can. However the facility is quickly becoming overrun by the fast population growth in the area. Bins are consistently full (especially the mixed paper).
I love that we can easily recycle but just wish it was expanded a little.
Though it was unbearably hot the employee Wayne was very helpful and productive. He ensured the facility was continuously organized during this unbearable heat. Wayne needs a letter of superior performance for a great job done today in this exceptional heat.
Helpful, courteous staff, and well run collection facility. It's worth the extra distance for me to drive to this one instead of the one that is closer to home.
