Did not pay me for 263#’s of heavy metal and some iron. If the heavy items should have been weighed by the guy in the building, he didn’t do his job. Told the ladies I didn’t agree with the price I know what I had in my truck And I get ripped off $400.00. Left a message for the owner to call me. We’ll see Where’s the cameras?
I brought my aluminum cans to cash in and recycle them on Oct 25 2024 My first time coming there I wasn't sure where to go or what to do . I asked a very nice young lady for directions where to go take my cans . She was very helpful . When I got to the aluminum recycling center there two nice gentlemen assisted me with unloading my aluminum cans 211 lbs. to be exact . Altogether a very good experience at Sunshine Recycling . Thank You ?
Maybe you should update your Google account with the appropriate closing times. I drove 40 minutes trying to get there in time only to hear some speaker voice telling me that the last weigh in is at 4:30! I was about 7 minutes past that time and you couldn't see fit to let me go through this time? Your information says open till 5:00, not 4:30! You costed me gas money trying to give you guys a shot! So, young lady on the speaker...you suck! Change your name to Stormy because Sunshine ain't it for y'all! You people have gotten too big for your britches to care about little ole me? You probably pay bottom of the barrel prices anyway. Take care. I'll never come back. And for parts, I prefer "Pull-A-Part". Good day
7 months ago, I rated this place 4 stars. I just was there 10 mins ago and wanted to kill a man! I've been going there for years simply because it's not far from where I live but, after the experience with whoever Hal is that drives a blue regular cab dodge truck and claims his family owns the business, I will never go there again! I was unaware that the Saturday business hours had changed as I'm normally there at the gate before 8am. As the gate opened on its own at 8:30am, I assumed that it was time to go in. I drove up on the scale as usual but, there was no buzz to go forward. I realized they were still not open for business. I backed off the scale and waited some more. At 9:03am, Hal pulled up and I asked him what were their business hours? He replied 9am. I asked when did it changed and he said, it's been like that for 2 years. I argued that fact because 7 months ago, I was there and left a more positive review because of the great experience I had and remember leaving in 25 mins of arriving at the gate at 7:45am that morning. He then felt the need to say that his family owned the business and implied that I followed someone in when I didn't. I don't like my integrity being called to question. Then he motioned me ahead complaining of the long line outside the gate in a very disrespectful way. If my son had not been with me this morning, things would have went left real quick for him. Please understand that my experience is not everyone's. But, I may not be the only one who's felt the nastiness of this guy. Also, understand that I do not always have my children with me and am not always able to control my temper. I truly hope you guys, as a business, address this issue. Have a blessed day.
So given my user name it's safe to assume that I love building wacky crazy builds. Sunshine hasn't only helped me do that but their pick and pull salvage yad has saved me thousands on replacement parts for my vehicle's. Staff is always kind and quick to help!
They have a huge selection of cars to choose from for parts and it's worth the drive to Orangeburg if you need parts I drove from Columbia because no one in Columbia had parts for a Honda very nice and helpful staff and the prices are pretty cheap I would go there again to get more parts if needed
Sunshine is very organized. They get you in and out quickly if they aren't busy. Our only problem with them is the price they give on shreadables. They pay $6 per 100 lbs where American Scrap in Cayce pays $10. The drawback with American is you don't know if they'll be opened when you go.
Pull a part has every make and model vehicle and pleasant staff in the office to help direct you to the location of the vehicle you need a part for....Recycling part is fast... price for recycled metals could be better
Sunshine Recycling is a professional ran business and the new staff in the office treat folks like humans unlike the last office staff now it's been 3 years since I was there and the yard crew is friendly and willing to help you unload your truck r trailer. After I arrived at "Sunshine Recycling" that day. I parked to the side of their scale. I walked up to a window where I spoke to a person. I followed his instructions. I weighed, I drove to the back, I unloaded, I reweighed & parked to the side of the scale. I walked to the window where I was earlier. I showed the person my "Permit" & my "Drivers License" then I received some money for the Scrap... Which was a blessing.
Well, I got screwed. I took some copper on Monday August 30, 2021. I had some #1 copper and #2, but he weighed it all as #2 copper. And, of course, #1 copper is worth more. He should've weighed it separately. They should have someone knowledgeable enough to know the difference. Make sure you pay attention and check your tickets! Everything else was great.
Good place to go. Just a heads up they do not accept any more customers 30 minutes before their actual closing time so if you try to show up at say 4:30 for example the scales to get rid of scrap and auto yards will be shut down, just offices open till 5 for remaining customers to check out, which is understandable otherwise they probably wouldn't be able to ever close up on time. They will inform you of this if you call and ask but if you have never asked you wouldn't know so just a heads up!
Find anything you need for your cars here at great prices. Nothing wrong with getting the part you need from here. If you know about your cars then most time with little time spent looking round at all the ones that will interchange with your vehicle which they print you a list of the area or row # and how many they have with little common sense and time you can usually find that expensive new part on one of the many vehicle's on that list that already most time next to being new for fraction or half of price your goin to pay at part store for exactly same product. Down side no refund for bad parts only credit so make sure do your do diligence an test your part while there an don't just grab 1st one hlfwayout already take time look at product you l know if its new, factory, or aftermarket an close guess of when it was replace extra few min will save lot of money & .time
Very unorganized & no one would help me.the desk lady was uninterested in helping me and I never felt so unnoticed before now. They also took my aluminum cans and I didn't see my profit from that neither??
I like the staff at Sunshine's recycling there's some good people that work at that place I should know I know just about everyone in the recycling part I get a good laugh every time I come through they are friendly and polite and will help you with any questions do you have no matter how crazy the question may be
The prices were up for copper and brass and my brother made about $600$ for 4 dump truck loads of stainless steel and metal,they are particular about pine straw in aluminum cans so try to keep your cans clean else they'll take money off the price that aluminum cans are going for that day,or like we did picked thru 7 contractor bags of cans to get the straw out,it took a lot of time and work, but was worth it to not be penalized.....they try as efficiently as possible to be as quickly as they can to get you paid and on your way,prices aren't too bad as of this posting!
Sunshine is a good place to get rid of junk. But the ladies in the front office. Or should I say the lady in the front office that serve me had a very bad attitude? They need to get their customer service skills better than what they are.
Kevin is one of the best men I've ever met. He has so many jobs and wears so many hats but, somehow does that and picks his son up from school and takes care of his work family and family at home. Dependable man. Hard worker.
This is a very clean scrap yard. They usually pay top dollar. And the staff is friendly and very helpful. I only wish they were open longer on Saturdays.
Decent prices and when I couldn't get something I needed off of a truck on the ground they provided a forklift to lift the truck in order for me to get the part.
A very large recycling center for all types of metal recycling. Lots of old autos available for parts. I used the facility to sell/recycle my aluminum cans. I was pleasantly surprised at the value I was given and very happy I chose this location.
One mam was really helpful in letting me know where I needed to go. Once I got to the general area someone else directed me to another area. Once I finially got to the exact area I needed there were 2 Spanish speaking women and neither one of them could speak clear English. But I caught them putting some of my aluminum in the garbage instead of in the large baskets to be weighed properly. So I had to get out of my truck and go through the garbage which only had my bags in it so it wasn't to much of a big deal. But, it was probably close to 2 pounds of aluminum that I would not have gotten credit for. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but if they keep doing it it adds up. One the women got upset and walked away from the spot where I was. If they were doing that to me, how many others have they done that to and did not get caught?
Overall it's not a bad place you just have to be vigilant and watch your stuff as they take it out and weigh it.
I drove from Cameron to get a spare tire that I saw the day before while I was there. I arrived at 4:35 and was informed that the yard closes at 4:30,wich is not posted, and I couldn't go out to the yard.I understand that they don't want people looking for parts while they are closing down but I explained to the person ( a teenager with no people/ business skills) that I knew exactly where the tire is and could get it and pay for with in 10 mins. but the teenager behind the counter insisted that I could not go on the yard.Way to take care of your customers Sunshine (sarcastically said), I will shop around elsewhere for used parts instead of going to Sunshine recycling, if they don't want local businesses so be it,I'll go somewhere else..?
