Drove 1200+ miles down to Myrtle Beach from Canada on vacation and the van started making a loud noise (of course it was the water pump). I had to get it looked at before we drove back home at the end of the week. Hussey Motors was able to take it in right away and they had the van finished the next day. Can’t say enough great things about this place! Service at front desk was amazing, and Darren was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and honest. The price was very fair! You can see why they’ve been in business since the 1950s. Thank you Hussey Motors!
My daughters car was making noise and another shop didn't have time for her and told her it was the exhaust. So we saw reviews of Hussey motors and all seemed positive. She dropped it off before going away on a Thursday morning. When she got to her destination she called me and asked me to go get it that it was finished and only a bracket had rotted out. The took good care of her and charged her $60. There aren't many shops that will fix your car and charge you less then a few hundred. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
In 2016 we purchased a secondary home in Myrtle Beach and now it is our permanent home. Finding a trustworthy auto shop that you can depend on being honest and professional is always a concern. Mike and team did a great job replacing the alternator on my car!! Had it towed to them Monday had it back Wednesday morning ready to go. Best part is it was half the price of everyone else in town! Thank you for the great service and I will definitely return in the future!
Serpentine belt on my Mini Cooper broke. I called Hussey Motors and inquired if they could work on Mini Coopers? The woman on the phone replied "YES". I then asked her to send the truck to pick the car up. The tow truck responded to my home. The driver Mike ( OWNER) was advised the serpentine belt was broken. He loaded the car onto the truck and returned to his shop
Wednesday around 1.00p/m.
Not hearing anything from them I called on Friday around 4.00 p/m. Mike advised me the serpentine belt was broken and he believed the supercharger or water pump were the possible cause. Then he advised me that he could not work on my car because he did have the tool (s) to work on " Mini Coopers "
I advised him i would call him back on Monday to have the car returned.
Monday morning I called and Mike he advised me the bill was $269.00 to return the car? Two (2) tow services $110.00 each and $49.00 for the diagnosis.
After talking to him for a while I guess he felt a little sorry for me and then charged the bill to $159.00 removing one tow service.
I payed the hostage bill for the car to be returned to me.
Why would any honest business tell you they can work on your Mini Cooper tow the car to their shop then tell you they cant work on Mini Coopers?????
P.S. Mike, it was the CRANK SHAFT PULLY.
Mike and the team at Hussey Motors did a fantastic job fixing my truck. We drove in from Alabama and it was running hot / leaking coolant. Diagnosed it was the water pump. New water pump, thermostat, coolant, and serpentine belt all in the next day! Mike drove me back to the condo and came and picked me up when it was ready. Price and service are outstanding! I highly recommend Hussey Motors!

Always go small business!! We broke down on our way to vacation. While at the beach I called them and told them they had all week to fix the issue. They were kind, attentive and very professional. They fixed all the issues we had, and charged an extremely reasonable price for all the work they did.

We were out of town and they got us in right away. In less then 2 hours he replaced the spark plug and ignition coil. Very fast as we were trying to get back home. It's a nice feeling when you trust your mechanic AND...there is a reason why they have been in business for decades! Hussey Motors is the best garage in the Myrtle Beach area. I needed a new radiator on Monday, they had to order it because I have an older car. It was installed on Wednesday morning. Great dependable service.
I was on vacation and had my battery light come on. Went to auto zone and was referred to this business. I was given a price for the part from auto zone, and told that Hussey gets their parts from auto zone. The price I got was $236, give or take a few bucks, no problem. I was also told that that included a lifetime warranty for the part. They got me in, did the repair, all seemed well. My receipt showed, for a new alternator, $299. The rest was for labor. Fine... I get back in my way to Ohio and my battery light continues to come on. I return to Ohio, take it to auto zone... give them my information and they informed me that I was given a $218 alternator that was rebuilt. I have no problem paying for parts, labor, etc. I do, however, do not respect a dishonest company. Clearly, they recognized a person in a vulnerable situation and took advantage of that and that, should be made public so anyone who may find themselves needing help in a vulnerable situation, may be aware of how people operate with people outside of their long time regular customers.

In response to the reply, that is not true, I was not given a price for a remanufactured part. in fact, I got a couple of different quotes for the part $236 (not including core charge) was the highest because it was NEW... then come to find out, your company went with the $218 part, for which I was charged $299 for. I also was not ever notified of such by your company, nor was I notified until after I paid and got my receipt, that you’d charged me well over for the part, then what auto zone gave me. Not to mention I gave the mechanic the written quote for a price and nothing was mentioned that I’d not be paying that price. Not to mention the core charge was also not considered. I don’t feel responding to the phone call would have solved this issue whatsoever. A phone call would certainly not have changed any of the facts that I have on papers and on record. The purpose of reviews on the internet is for people to see what previous clients’ experience was like so I feel that my review is more than appropriate. If you don’t like my HONEST review, my advice would be to do better next time, and when you know you have policies in place regarding a quote for parts, or whatever the situation is, that is different than what someone is expecting, let them know. When someone is getting a remanufactured part vs. new, let them know. Additionally, when we discussed the work being done and I gave you the ok, nothing was specified. I noticed when I looked at my receipt that I got a “new” part so when I inquired at my local auto zone about the warranty because of issues with the part, is when I discovered that I’d been given a part that was not “new”. These unfortunate choices businesses make are the type of things that make it so difficult for anyone to trust mechanics these days. It’s very sad. If your out of town and looking for a honest reliable mechanic to fix your car this is the place to go!!!! They will treat you as if you were family, as well as get you back up and running quickly, so your not missing out on enjoying your vacation. Also, visit the bike shop for rentals. I've been doing business with them for over 25 years. Very honest and dependable. When my paycheck depended on my vehicles, they kept me on the road. Sometimes pulling off the seemingly impossible!! Now retired with 1998 Honda. Last month air conditioner went out. Mike and company got it fixed and my old car runs like a new one. Office staff know all info on car. Left my car at Husseys to check why I leak fuel. After they was done I was told they did not find any leakage...Not true! They must never turned the engine on because if you do you get a strong fuel smell even inside the car... And I surely see fuel on the ground when it rains coming underneath of my car
