We stayed at an Airbnb with 4 spots reserved by the hosts. One of our two vehicles was towed for no reason and by no request from the Airbnb host. There was no note or message left. We had to call the police to figure out if it was stolen or towed and if towed what company. Thankfully police was able to tell us this UNETHICAL company (who ONLY takes cash, ha, where’s the IRS when you need them…) Absolutely shameful money grabbers. ***UPDATE*** there was a typical reply from the owner blaming me and calling me a democrat? This reply was later deleted when the parking contract was shown to him by my Airbnb’s property management and he was found in error. Imagine that! Lol

Great signage yall, so glad I was able to see the folded up piece of metal so I could actually locate my car

I had a great experience with CBR, called on a Sunday evening, the driver got right over to me and was very kind. They dropped my car off at my chosen shop with no issues. I was a little worried about having to wait a long time but the driver was super prompt. I will definitely be using them again if I ever need a tow. Also the price was beyond reasonable! I was on folly road and needed the car brought to rivers. Great experience! Thanks a bunch

They charged me $185 drop fee when it wasn’t even hooked up all the way. Ran inside Walmart to use the bathroom and come right out. Parked in a handicap without no sticker this is my 1st ever parking in a handicap space. I should’ve got a ticket or fine $50, instead I got ripped out by this company. I will report this company to better business bureau. Be aware of this company and when where you are parked

Paid almost $300 to get my car back after being towed for "backing into a space" in an apartment complex with no signs posted anywhere. Also never said anything about having to pay in cash until I arrived to the towing place. Staff are rude and unprofessional, and their replies to reviews are snarky, sarcastic, and even political. This company clearly doesn't care about professionalism or customers, only money.

This company is a Ripoff!!!!!! I am handicapped and my vehicle was towed because I forgot my placard. Asked if I could bring them my placard to show them, they said No.

My daughter was stranded during localized flooding during last week's storms that made the road to her apartment impassable. She called us frantic about what to do with the car and we told her to leave the car and get to safety never expecting she would be towed. But she was. After emailing the company, they graciously offered a refund and apologized for the mixup. I just wanted to say thank you for your understanding in this situation.

WORST TOW COMPANY. Avoid at all costs. Not only did the under carriage of my car get completely destroyed by improper loading onto the tow truck, the man operating the truck lacked all basic skills of person-to-person interaction. If I could give negative stars I would! -1000/10, DONT USE THIS COMPANY.

This company scratched the shit out of my bmw. The whole front bumper needs to be repainted. If you need a tow, you should prob find somewhere else that won’t damage your car.

CBR towing is an unscrupulous scam, ruining families evenings and charging outrageous fees to return your vehicle. I parked by the movie theatre near Northwoods mall on Jul 12 to watch Superman with my son. It was storming and rainy so we hurried inside. Came out after the movie and my truck was gone. Then I saw their single small sign that said abandoned cars will be towed. Not “no parking” nor “private”. 1 1/2 hours beside a movie theatre is their idea of “abandoned” These thieves ripped me off for $240 ! Makes me never want to do shop with any of the businesses in North Charleston again!

This company illegally towed my truck after the driver took off the plate and then pushed it through the window that was cracked open and then proceeded to take a picture stating it had no plate! The guy was rude and disrespectful and I had to call the police to ya e them come out and that’s when they found the plate in the door pocket! The guy got all nervous and then even the police thought it was a little suspicious after seeing the plate inside the vehicle! Oh by the way the police did take prints as the back of the truck had handprints all over the back! I will say someone needs to stop this company as it is a huge joke and full of thieves and if the owner allows this he will be getting sued and charges will be pressed

Towed my car from my apartment complex when I have the parking pass clearly displayed on the windshield. Called in and they told me the reason was a flat tire. I have a donut on the car, not a flat tire which is not a violation of my apartments rules. Currently talking to my apartment staff about them paying to have my car brought back. What a ridiculous company.

This is such a predatory and sketchy company. I understand that Charleston needs a system of accountability for parking improperly but I was towed from a lot I pay monthly to park in. Some residents on my street have no-tow agreements with the company but when I inquired about it they said it doesn't exist and an agreement would be impossible to arrange. As one of the only towing companies in the area they effectively monopolize the market, making it easier for them to take advantage of people. They also charged more than any other towing company I've come across and only accept cash and cashapp. It really begs the question why they don't have a paper trail for their business's money or a system of accountability for their operations.

I wish I could give negative stars but that wasn't an option. I am from out of town and had a driver already with a car hooked take that car down and come pick up mine with me in it. There were no signs that said private parking when us visitors from another state parked with our passengers side wheels on a piece of the sidewalk trying to pick up Grandma who is wheelchair bound and the wife of a Vietnam veteran from her nail appointment. We dropped her off so it's not like we were parked there for long. The vehicle was still running. See the dispicable excuse for a human being didn't care that her wheelchair couldn't move on the rock parking lot which is why we parked that way to get her into the car. He proceeded to lift the car with me in it without speaking to me at all anyway. I hope your proud of yourself! You are what's wrong with the world today! The police officer on scene even spoke with the supervisor of this company on our behalf on the phone and she was as ignorant and unprofessional as the worker. The officer was disappointed with this companies actions as we were. So much for southern hospitality. Ron Black & Sheenna Black this is what your company does? Take the $100 but have some decency.

so the guy said my boss said $250 but according to folly beach a drop charge is 50% of the $150 and they can charge up to 150%.So the total is $225 divided in half $112.5 to release on the spot! This tow company are scammers and price gouging so beware!

The most crooked tow company in Charleston. Towed my car before thinking it wasn’t running because I have two cars! Towed my other car for sitting too long as well in OUR APARTMENT COMPLEX. Both cars were running. Rude owner hung up on my wife saying he didn’t have time for this then ran scared when I came to recover our car. If you see the CBR sign please be cautious. They also claim to be cash only which in itself is a red flag.

Took my mother’s car from in front of her place, after getting the car back there were damages to the front of the car and she was told that there was nothing that they could do about it. The damages were not there prior to the car being towed.

They towed my vehicle and returned it damaged, they refused to acknowledge the damage they caused. Then they charged me an extra $40, even though they didn’t have my vehicle a full 24 hours.

There was a situation with one of your workers. He gave a card with the name “Ron Black” on it I’m not sure if that is his name for sure . But he did not have permission to tow my car , he lied and said he was paged by the property manager to come out here to tow my car. I explained to him there was already an agreement and email sent out to let the property manager know I brought a car cash on Saturday. Which I wouldn’t be able to register my car until Monday due to me getting it on the weekend. I told him that situation when I showed him proof of me just buying the car and email sent to the property management. My car wasn’t even parked for 2hours. He said he had to call his manager and to see if I could call the property manager . He then said his manager said he won’t be able to leave the car without a $200 drop fee unless we contact the manager(which I already told/showed him everything). (He was already acting off) We agreed if I didn’t get the manager on the phone we will pay the $200. As I’m calling the property manager I’m standing by the car and not even a minute went by he instantly takes off full speed with my vehicle so recklessly. He pulled off so fast my car was rocking side to side and the front of my car had like sounds of scraping the ground ( he did not hook up the car properly because he was too busy looking for the phone he lost). He was basically stealing at that point because he never notified anyone or was notified by property management to do this ( he lied and said he knew about this car more than 3+hours and we wasn’t even there for even more than 2hours) . The property knew this situation with my car and tag situation because they were notified . This worker did not follow protocol. Due to him being reckless the bottom of my car is damaged and has a leak (due to car rocking there is oil all over the engine and small areas causing it too smoke)and is now pulling to the side . I am asking nicely for a refund and repair to my vehicle. I already have documentation. Bottom line he did not have to take off like that , he could’ve explained that he could not wait and we would’ve paid the fee off top. (I don’t understand why he took off like that it was very unnecessary) The property manager called yesterday explaining she did not give permission or was notified about this vehicle to take this action. I know there are group chats / alerts. involved he could’ve reached out his self and handled it better. I called and left multiple emails still no response. I want a refund you did not have permission to take my vehicle

Edited in response to company’s “comment” on here: Truly insane that yall are STILL choosing to blatantly lie. Did you forget that we were shown and emailed all your pictures too?? Y’all are diabolical. I don’t think leaving a snarky comment on every poor review you receive is helping your case. The awful reputation you’ve earned in Charleston speaks volumes. Maybe spend some of your time changing how you run your dirty business? Original Review: Employees were rude and combative from the start. This tow company did not follow municode. There was not proper signage, and the one sign they did have (on the ground) was completely obstructed by a large recycling bin. We wouldn’t have parked there if we knew it wasn’t public parking. We parked thinking we were all good because parking is free on Sundays and we looked for signs. Front desk guy and tow truck driver said it was “our problem” that the sign was obstructed. I was parked for less than 30 mins so the tow guy was still driving away with my car when I called and told him the sign was obstructed by a recycling bin. He acknowledged that it was obstructed (meaning he knowingly drove off with the sign still blocked by the bin) and said it wasn’t his problem. So shady. In addition, according to municode “Sec. 19-399. - Towing from private property”, the tow company must report the tow to the police within 30 mins. We called Charleston county police department (within an hour of the tow) and they said they did not have a report from CBR about my vehicle. When we were waiting at the tow company office, another person told us this was the second time CBR has improperly towed her car from her own apartment lot. What a joke of a business. They’ll figure out any sneaky way to take your money. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the ones that set the bin there. If they’re going to be so quick to blame drivers for “doing the wrong thing” they should hold themselves to the same standard.

MUSC for testing & hospital stay. Had to get piercings removed & parked in a gravel lot & few building down. There was NO SIGN saying it was a private lot. There was a sign that illegally parked/abandoned cars would be towed by CBR. I thought it meant like don’t double park or leave your vehicle a long time. I was there about an hr & came back to find my car gone. I honestly was so confused I just walked around in circles saying, “I don’t understand. Where’s my car?” I called the # on the sign bc I didn’t even know the address where I parked to call police that my car was stolen. The lady told me they had my car. I said there was no sign saying it was a private lot. She said there didn’t have to be as long as their tow sign was there. I said but it doesn’t say private or reserved. We don’t live here, & had no idea this was private parking. I asked what am I supposed to do bc we had less than 10 min to get to the hospital. They said call an Uber. We did, but no one showed. We had to walk the rest of the way to the hospital, got there 30 minutes late, & MUSC canceled one of the tests we were supposed to have. We drove 3 hours for this testing, paid for an AirBnB, & now have a $200 tow bill. And I haven’t been able to get my car bc we’re still at the hospital. I bet the bill is going up as we speak. And no one at CBR nor MUSC has been sympathetic or offered to help in this situation.

Cbr towing towed my car, never updated it in the Charlston county tow system to the point I had to call and report my car stolen they said that they towed my car because my new decal had not arrived in the mail yet and I would have to have a receipt posted in my front windshield. But all receipts for car taxes are sent through email and not everyone has a printer nor was I notified by my front desk that this has to be done in order for me to not have my car towed. I brought my receipt for the payment to their office and still had to pay 185$ to get my vehicle back. They won’t take a debit card but will take cash app? Sounds like a full scam company to me. Edit to review, I asked the general manager about having to have a receipt on my dash he told me that we never signed a paperwork stating that we would have to do anything like that. He also stated that they shouldn’t have been towing from that location without management approval. So now I am filing a civil lawsuit against CBR towing who no one at their location will give me any names of management nor the owners name of the company she just kept stating that their names are CBR. What they are doing if finding nice cars and finding any reason to tow them. If the owner reads this it would be smart for your to give me a number to call you because this is about to cost you way more than $185.00 from that your employees are going to cost you. Re. Good job MR.Black your all over the web soooooo famous

Very courteous service. They were very understanding that my vehicle was in an accident and was under my insurance. It was towed with care from private property to keep it safe until I was able to have it towed to the collision repair shop. They took excellent care of my car while it was on their lot. Thank you everyone at CBR Towing.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My car was towed while I was visiting a friend’s apartment downtown, and when I called to speak with the manager, I was met with nothing but rudeness and unprofessionalism. I politely asked if they could work with me on the price since it was outrageously high, and Jeremy, who answered the phone, was dismissive, condescending, and completely unwilling to help. I remained respectful throughout the conversation, yet I was hung up on simply for asking a question. It’s clear from other reviews that this company has a long track record of taking advantage of people and operating in bad faith. They have no interest in customer service—only in squeezing every last dollar out of unfortunate situations. Based on other reviews, I fully expect the owner to respond to this with some snarky, passive-aggressive comment instead of taking any real accountability. But that’s exactly the kind of business this is—one that would rather argue with customers than run an honest operation. If you’re looking for fairness, professionalism, or even basic decency, you won’t find it here. Beware of this business and its shady practices.

**Fabulous Tow Company - Inclusive and Supportive!** I recently had the **most amazing experience** with CBR Towing, and I simply must share! From the moment I called, I felt the warmth and inclusivity radiating through the phone. The entire team was not only professional and efficient but also incredibly supportive of the LGBTQ+ community. When their tow truck arrived (in record time, might I add), it was clear that this company truly celebrates diversity and equality. The driver was friendly, respectful, and went above and beyond to ensure I felt safe and comfortable. Thanks Tony! But the cherry on top? Their office is adorned with vibrant rainbow flags and supportive posters, creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Whether you need a tow or just a helping hand, Ron Black and his boys at the shop are the shining stars in the industry! ⭐ If you're looking for a towing service that combines top-notch professionalism with a heart full of love and inclusivity, look no further. CBR Towing is the one to call!

I’ve been seeing news about fraud towing and I just got my car was towed that I owned with good tags etc my car sat in my parking lot that’s registered to my address for a month while I’m currently waiting on the part to arrive due to the snow storms. Just ridiculous and unacceptable. Made police report and contacted my lawyer. Had another towing company confirming their concerns with this company. And I’m okay with any comment I may receive looking at all the negative reviews. But everything will always catch up in due time. God is so powerful, he always sees everything. I’ll pay my fees and I will take care of this. Galatians 6:7 “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” You’ll reap what you sow in flesh and spirit. Amen Asé. Update : To the owner, it’s towed not told. Have blessed educated day.

Called the company to ask about picking up my car and putting it back down for no reason in a spot I have a sticker for, because after that my gear shift is extremely messed up. I called to ask them about it hoping they’d give an explanation or help resolve the issue further since it definitely messed my transmission. I was greeted, after calmly explaining the situation, with being cussed out and screamed at over the phone by a man when a woman answered the phone and then was hung up on.. I’m guessing they know what they did with that response. So be careful with this very rude and predatory company! The reviews are no joke… they’ll have fun talking to a lawyer now since they didn’t want to talk to me like a normal human being.

These guys are great!!! My apartment has free and reserved paid parking indicated by plaques. After 6 emails reminding residents not to park in paid spots and leaving notes. I made the call they showed up within the hour and towed the vehicle. In regards to how they handled the vehicle. They took photos and in no way could they have damaged it with how it was towed away. Yeah getting towed sucks. The other side of this is coming home and not being able to park in a spot you pay for or own. Simply put, if people paid attention, stopped acting so damn entitled you wouldn’t get towed.

I took full responsibility for my actions and paid my $201 dollar fee. Not my issue that I got towed. My issue is these “professionals” towed and knocked off my bumper and the under cover part of my bumper, wheel well, and knocked my fog light out in the process. Don’t say I didn’t take responsibility when I know for fact I know I parked illegally because I didn’t see yalls sign and came and paid what I needed to. Also, I signed and left because, although yall did get it very very dirty and I was skeptical, everything looked fine and was doing fine until I got a few minutes down the road already heading home. Y’all took advantage of the fact that I don’t know much about cars and don’t tell anyone what damage yall do to their cars. Yeah it’s just a “2020 kia forte” and it’s just “new to me”, but I worked hard for it to get it. I’m done dealing with this poorly ran company, god knows what yalll do, I just hope one day yall reap what you sow.
