Phenomenal service - Fair Pricing... Car starter broke & was fixed within a week, even offered to give me a ride to pick up my car. Would highly recommend trusting this shop with any/all repairs needed.
Our family road trip had screeched to a halt when we got a screw in our tire and it was flat! We got a recommendation from the Cumberland Farms up the street for the Washington County Auto Center for a flat fix. They were fast - immediately getting us back on track and with so much friendliness!! Very much recommend - they saved vacation!
I’ve been here a couple times, a very honest shop.
I brought in my car for a vibration problem, stated that my tires were feathering but that wasn’t a problem. They could’ve easily tried to upsell me and get me to buy two new tires but they did not do that.
For the dealership I work for on the other hand quoted me nearly $600 worth of work while Fred and his crew were kind enough to not even charge me for diagnostic. Will definitely be a loyal customer here for as long as I live here, even if I move a state away I’m coming here.
We used to go here because the service was good and the prices were fair. Over the past few years the prices have crept up and the level of service has dropped off. They don't bother chasing any issues they don't feel like chasing, even when you tell them what it is. We stopped bringing our vehicles there.
Washington County Auto Center is by far the best place to have your car or truck repaired. Freddie and his staff are very knowledgeable and professional. I have been going to Washington County for many years, and there has never been a negative experience. I get treated like a friend, not just a nameless customer. I highly recommend Washington County Auto Center to anyone needing repairs done.
Great local asset. We had an accident with a tire and brought our car in next day. Within a day we had two new tires and assurance there was no damage to the wheel or axel. We were satisfied with the work.

a week before I moved into college my muffler and exhaust became detached and I needed to get my car in somewhere asap. Freddy got my car in and out with a new muffler, exhaust, and a newly silent car within 2 days. Freddy saved me from a huge amount of anxiety about how I was going to make it up to college without a car. He communicated perfectly and quoted me a reasonable amount for 3 new parts. Thank you Fred for saving my week and getting everything done so quickly so that I could have a car for college!

On a small trip to RI and I ran a nail over on my 9 hour trip here. Called to have my car towed here and the man was absolutely rude. Told me my car would sit until Monday and I explained I was from out of town and he just said it with my explicit wording. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I suggest that if you are trying to get business and keep it, you find better help.
I had mice do a lot of damage to my Chevy. This auto center figured it all out and repaired all the damage. Vehicle runs like new now. They didn't give up even though it was a daunting task.
Fred came to my rescue with a same day repair and exceptional customer service. I greatly appreciate having such an excellent repair shop close to home.
Took my 18 year old vw passat in for an inspection, for which i had made an appointment the week before. The only thing is i had made the appointment for Wednesday, but I thought it was for Tuesday. They said no problem and squeezed it in a day early. Even though I was pretty sure my car would pass inspection and it did, it was awesome that they did it a day earlier as it would have been a pain to come back and arrange another ride etc.
Fred and his staff is amazing he is truly an angel I would highly recommend them they protected my car at all costs and gave me an amazing discount he is a blessing in disguise I thank God for him he changed my life. Best place in Richmond to get your car repaired. This is one of the few HONEST auto repair shops in Rhode Island. The owner is friendly and gets the job done when he said it would be done. Thank you for such great service.

Solid shop and crew here. I've used them off and on for 2 years now for repairs as well as inspection on two vehicles. Each time they have never tried to push unnecessary repairs or work and have always been very close to the initial cost and time estimates. If you're looking for mechanics you can trust, they fit the bill.

They are very polite Johnny freddy Jonathan . There are alot of unforeseen problems when replacing something alot of times everything around it is held together by rust and luck; they will be honest about how important it is or how long u can put it off witch is playing roulette. But they are as fair and honest as you can be i cant say enough good things
Brought my car there because it came highly recommend by several people who I work with. And I was very upset when I picked my car up, they had managed to damage my rear bumper. 300$ repair to fix what they did all on me to fix. Never again.
Usually my experience with these guys is top notch. And I've used them several times (tires,breaks,tows, sent friends and family to them)... This time not so great, brought my car back because after 2 months my breaks still squeal, and now my door latch was broken...
Wasn't told how much the total bill would be.. I was told the part cost, and it was the same price I was quoted from another guy...so I wasn't shocked (the other place quoted 75$ less total bill part plus repair to fix the door latch, and I had removed the panel and most of the door myself, but I use these guys so I figured would be the same price after all it was the same job same part cost very very different labor cost), was never called when my car was done and when I was jolted about the unreasonable final bill after all was quoted $75 less for the same EXACT repair elsewhere... the person on the phone became very combative... All in all I love Freddy! But I doubt I will be sending any more people there or be going back myself.... haven't picked up my car yet... I hope I can give a better report when I do... Very disappointed, thought I finally found my car guys!!! But this is the 3 Rd time I have seen this happen... Get a few jobs done with a car place get comfortable with them and then wham huge bill and no discussion, I mean really.... over half my paycheck to get my door latch repaired??? No groceries this week kids...
Without a doubt the most professional, reliable, trustworthy, and all around pleasant mechanic you will ever come into contact with. I have had all of my car repairs done at WC Auto since 2000. There is not enough space in a review to explain how fantastic this establishment is!
Freddy is the coolest most down to earth guy you could hope to do business with. Their honesty, and hard work is shocking in today's world of screw customers over to make a quick buck. Even though I have moved to Las Vegas (and let me tell you I miss them sooo much for my car repairs!) I still have my mom bring her car here, and they take superb care of her which is huge for my peace of mind.
If you take anything away from my review here let it be this. If you need an urgent repair, or if it is just regular maintenence, or even an upgrade...whatever, just know that you will come away from the experience feeling good that you got what you paid for, and the job was done right!
You won't find a better business on the planet. I've been going to see Fred since I moved to Hope Valley 10 yrs ago. HONEST, reliable and dare I say it - sweet! Treats everyone with respect and takes pride in his work. He's done a few little jobs for me for free - just cuz he's good guy and he knows how to build a business. LOVE YOU GUYS!
I just went in with a slow leak in my tire and they found the issue and since it was only a quick tighten, they didn't charge me! Next time my car has a problem, I'm coming to them!
After a horrible night, this guy was great. He waited for me on a Saturday and was nothing but nice! He was an absolute delight- and I have never been happy about being towed- but they definitely softened the blow! Cheers!
Probably the most professional mechanics I have ever encountered. When my alternator gave out at midnight while driving from New York to Boston. I pulled into a gas station in the town of Wyoming, Rhode Island. The electrical system in my car was down and the car could not move anymore. I called a bunch of different mechanics and Kevin from Washington County Auto Center was the only one that picked up the phone. He told me that he was all the was in the Connecticut and NY border, but that he would come and get me ASAP. With not much faith on Kevin actually showing up. My girlfriend and I got ready to spend the night in the freezing car (5 degrees Fahrenheit) because there were no vacant hotels/motels walking distance. About an hour and a half later I get a phone call. It Kevin telling me he is right behind me. He picks up the car and then finds and drives us to a motel where we can spend the night. The he calls me telling me that the car might not be ready for another day but he will do his best to get it moving for us to continue our trip. An hour later he calls me telling me he found a new alternator for my VW Passat and that he will call me when its ready. Not only did he call me, but he drove my car to the motel where we were staying.
The fellas at Washington County Auto Center were so nice and understanding. Thanks to them, specially Kevin, My girlfriend and I were able to continue with our trip and ended up having a wonderful time. What a great bunch of people, Washington County Auto Center. They definitely got my back, I recommend them 100%.
(By the way Kevin also got me off a ticket for going 50mph on a 40mph area)
