Expect to get ripped off by this shady business. The price was too good to be true for a reason. Got a transmission there with a warranty that was supposed to have under 40k miles AND be tested. By my experience I believe neither to be true. Paid to have it installed in a vehicle and it reeked and burned up from the start leaving the car stranded on the highway. Was not given the sale contract terms ahead of arriving for pickup and it's not posted anywhere, read the fine print. They require you give them the car for diagnostics with the dead part installed for a warranty claim. Who gets their dead car towed to the junkyard for investigation from their own mechanic for an honest evaluation? Returning the old part after pulling isn't enough. They also require proof and receipts for all new fluids/filters/etc. and don't accept proof in the form of your mechanics invoice, they want an itemized specific purchase order. They will become increasingly difficult to deal with and drag things on long enough that eventually you run out the clock or give up in frustration. They basically make it impossible to return parts because they know they are selling garbage parts nobody tested and they make payment inconvenient enough they can trap you. If you want them to pull something for you, they want cash or wire transfer ahead of time. Do you think that's getting covered on a chargeback? The website says credit but you'll get cornered into not using it for the full transaction. For what it's worth, the positive reviews seem like tail light assemblies or similar which are cut and dry compared to a major mechanical part like an Engine or Transmission. Everyone writing a negative isn't legitimate. Sure seems like a looooot of liars and "untruths" targeting this 1 business. I was a fool, the experience was a nightmare, this is obviously a business with 0 intent on taking care of their customers even if you do everything by the books. Don't be the next victim. I got fleeced hard, what about you?

Went there to get a bumper but it was damaged, they offered me a refund immediately. There was some issues and delays with the refund process but John was extremely helpful and he assured me I would get my refund which I did.

I was looking for a bumper for my 2014 Nissan Rogue, specifically red. Chris helped me locate one locally at a reasonable price. Highly recommend these guys for all your recycled automotive parts!!!

Sent a wire for an Engine. Spoke with Matt L several times who stated that they never received the wire. I provided proof and screenshots from bank account but I was told that wire was never received. I called my bank and they confirmed wire was sent out and amount deducted from my account but they refused to acknowledge receipt. I never got the engine that I paid for and lost my money because the bank would not refund it stating it was sent out. Complete loss

Repeat customer here, refused to sell me a part because i just need the airbag but mine is cloth and theirs is leather...who cares i just need the airbag...so for a $100 part i need to waste my time to go to my bank and pay a $25 wire fee because thats the only way theyll sell it...refused to take zelle or any other form of payment. And then the guy just hangs up the phone. No wonder they have a 2 star rating.

This business will even try and scam other small businesses by collecting sales tax when prop st4 forms and tax excemptions forms are provided then refuse to refund you for the sales tax

The reason for 1 star is because I couldn't put a negative. Ordered a bed side and sent my money. Then I was told they couldn't get it off the truck in time for me to pick it up 2 weeks later. Took over a month to get a check with loads of BS excuses in the meantime. I miss placed the cheque, that's on me. 32 year Vet and sometimes I misplace stuff. I was told that he(Shawn) wasn't calling me stupid for miss placing the cheque. I'm not the one that can't do an e-transfer. I send them all over the world. So I'm not getting my money back because it will screw up their accounting, more BS. I wish I would have read the reviews before dealing with them. They have no idea what customer service is about. Anthony Russo must be some proud of you, not. Feel free to contact me without hanging up on me or putting me on hold and not returning to the call.

Horrible service! Very unprofessional! Made me wait 3 hours, I came all the way from New York they knew I was coming because I spoke to them the day before saying I’m coming tomorrow told me one price when I showed up gave me a higher price also said no tax if I pay cash, I got there charged me tax and raised the price. DONT DO IT! find some where else, not worth the headache!

I have been buying used auto parts for 50 years. I was a little concerned after reading some reviews. My experience was hands down great. Every person I dealt with including the young man who handed me the part was courteous and professional. Definitely will be going back.

Absolutely love this place the staff was very professional and I feel they went above and beyond to help my needs. I traveled out of state to go there, compared to the other places I have been to. I can say with full transparency it is worth the trip. They get a 5 star review from me.

Not sure what's up with the negative reviews, but they really came through for me. I needed a tail light assembly for a 2018 Ford Transit work van after I destroyed mine when I backed into a tree. Dealer retail price was $290. I called salvage yards and located one at this yard for only $75. Rather than drive out there, I asked if they could ship the part to me, and they agreed, for a reasonable fee (as compared to my time and gas). The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very professional. Two days later, the part was at my house. I have never in my life seen an item that was so carefully packaged; I was highly impressed. The condition of the tail light, although it was used, was excellent. It even included the wiring harness and bulbs! In about 5 minutes, I had the damaged part out, and this new part installed.

Rude customer service, unwilling to help. Always blame the customer for any issues, after spending 1950$ on a “shift good tested” 87,xxx mile 6l80. with in the first 5 miles of driving it, I realized it was slipping. Put less then 100 miles on it to confirm it indeed was a bad transmission. Sent over all required receipts for transmission install for “warranty” purposes, only to be called and told I ordered wrong transmission from them and it’s my fault. My truck was optioned with a tow package and apparently the transmission I got didn’t have a “tow package” note they never ask for your vin to verify until after you bought they part which Is cash ONLY (sketchy). Only after they sell you a bad transmission they want to confirm your vin. After contacting gm parts department and clarifying with them that the only difference in my truck was an upgraded hitch, higher capacity radiator, and trailer brake and nothing to do with the actual transmission. They said all 6l80’s were built identical and the slippage was due to worn clutches. They verified the 2 different numbers for a new oem transmission and the 4wd one was indeed correct for my truck. Well general auto playing the card they always do and blaming the customer, as you can see in any other review. I’ve done business with them over 10 years. That was the last, when Anthony Russo sold this place, it went severely down hill.

Visited for the first time. I needed a rim for one of my vehicles. They had a few in stock. I spoke to Matt and he was very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. I was very impressed on how they kept the property. Very neat and organized. I will definitely visit again if any future needs come up. Thanks General for the great service !

I bought a headlight from this company. It was the wrong headlight. It was a mission and a half to return it. Didn’t even give me cash back. Gave me a check and charge me a 25% restock fee. I would give this place a zero star rating. I will not be returning

Beware. They’ll state the part your looking for is good (grade a) & once you put a deposit down they take 7-9 days (weekend included) to let you know that the part is no good.. no accommodation for your time nor would they offer another part for the same price.. even if the difference is a few bucks to make the situation right. No ethics no morals. Small items like Autobody parts is not a problem.. as for mechanical parts, If you’re on a time crunch and expect a good working part do not rely on General Auto. They’ll call you back w bad news & leave you disappointed.

Absolutely unprofessional service provided. Requesting a part, getting there, removing the part only to be told they do not have it. Oh and called ahead so it wasn’t a wasted trip. I understand the need of business but being accountable and trustworthy is what makes you gain the trust of a consumer. Was able to go elsewhere and resolve same day but think twice before using there services. Please do better. Use this review to review your process to ensure customer satisfaction.

Absolutely horrendous experience! Do not recommend wasting your time at all with this company. I called last week to see if they could possibly ship a Fender and Door to my local body shop in NY, and they said no they cannot. So I had asked them to pay over the phone and have the parts pulled so i can come on tuesday (today) to pick them up. They stated that they will not take any payments over the phone nor will they pull the parts for me untill i come to them and pay cash (likely so they dont need to pay taxes on sales) and that I had to be there before 2pm and they will have them pulled same day. I said alright, ill be there tuesday to get them. Arrived on tuesday at 1:55, and by the time they figure out what parts i need and where to find them, its 2:05 and they tell me they will get them pulled tomorrow. I said i took time off from work today to get this taken care of and drove from 5 hours away to get this stuff. I cant wait untill tomorrow. And they instructed me that i am violating company policy and i had come 5 minutes after 2. He calls another older gentleman in and he starts arguing with me aggressively and kicked me out of the building. Highly recommend to stay away and not waste your time. They clearly dont want your business and dont want to help customers. After this situation happened i went to check other reviews and many others had similar and different situations happen aswell. These guys deserve an IRS audit and to be shut down to the ground. Have never actually actually needed to write a negative review for a business before but this one really deserves it.

If I could leave zero I totally would. I recently had a very disappointing experience with this company. I arrived at their office just a few minutes past their supposed deadline due to their cash policy, and despite my apologies and explanation, they refused to assist me. I understand that punctuality is important, but their lack of flexibility and unwillingness to help was very frustrating. It felt like they didn't value my time or business at all. Customer service should be about understanding and accommodating clients, but unfortunately, the receptionist was rude and very very unwilling to work with me. Then the hero jumped in pretty much kicked me out. I won't be returning, and I certainly won't be recommending their services to anyone!

I don’t understand why all the negative reviews. My experience with this business was fantastic. I was assisted by *Jim* and he was excellent! After confirming the part i needed, he called me back stating there was damage. He emailed me pictures while on the phone to confirm if i wanted to proceed. Not many businesses would do that. Customer service from Jim was 5 stars, as well as the part purchased and packaging.

Just do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all cost. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. They think they’re doing you a favor. Management sucks just as much as sales. If you’re remote and needed shipped they make you pay via wire transfer. Like who does that? Whoever own this company needs to fire everyone working there.

If I could give no stars I would . Horrible people to deal with. Ordered a control module and they faxed me a purchase agreement and I filled it out and Emailed it back. Received email back stating transaction was canceled do to me marking the 90 warranty box. I then called and told them that I understand that there was no warranty on Electrical parts but they didn't want to hear it.

I felt that it was necessary for us to leave a review , because of the way this business is presented in most of the negative reviews. This was not the first time we purchased from them and every single time the experience was positive. Their grading is always correct , prices are very competitive and customer service is top notch. We are over 600 miles away and will not hesitate to order parts again Just received a $200 head light today and the item was packaged better than new one. Thanks to Lynn and the team and keep up the good work!

Late model cars you can get original parts and save hundred of dollars I stop buying new tires there tires are almost new all sizes love the place environmentally perfect place I highly recommend this place.

Parts were not in "good" condition as claimed, wheel needed complete refurbishing. Over inflated shipping costs and also slow to ship parts (ordered Monday, did not send out until Friday) and not the most helpful or attentive customer service.
