He was working with my stepfather for a few years on a project and when my stepfather passed away, Josh was so understanding in so many ways and continued to help and work with me having to take over the project. Shaw Surveying was able to give me a great price on a boundary survey for my property in Southern York County. They had plans for many of the neighboring properties and completed the survey under budget.
It’s amazing how bad people remember their property lines, even when there are very obvious landmarks and markers. Thanks to a few of my neighbors trying to encroach on my land and make claims about where “the real property line is” I had to get Shaw out twice to mark different parts of my land.
They came well prepared, found all of the pins and other markers, even when a few were buried a few inches down.
The guys are really nice and explain everything well.
You’re paying them by the hour so do yourself a favor if you can and have your property line as clear as possible. They’ll come out and hack down stuff if they have to, but you’re paying a lot for that time. I cleared a lot, but since I wasn’t 100% sure on some of the lines because of the claims by the neighbors (that all turned out to be wrong) I ended up just going out with my machete, loppers, and weed eater and clearing as they went, which they were cool with.
These guys are good, professional, and the company has been around forever. If you’re in the area there’s a good chance your original plat was done by these guys so why even look anywhere else?
Had challenges getting them to explain their work. Unless of course I wanted to pay them to speak to me. I offered to come by off hours and speak in person, or speak on the phone (neither was sufficient ). After several months and too many emails Jon did finally provide a few answers I could piece together the work they performed. I sure for their sake they improve their customer support.
My wife and I have an 11 acre property in Glen Rock. At one point the previous owners surveyed the front boundary, but we found ourselves in need of a complete survey. We spoke to a few other Surveying companies, and none compared to Shaw's friendliness, timeliness, and price.
We have since completed the survey, and the company was courteous, forth-coming with information, and treated us like we were part of their own family.
