Chris is the man! Picked up the phone on the first ring (no hour long hold line like everywhere else). Put his personal plans on hold to help me past service hours and went above and beyond. Could not recommend more!
If you're checking this to see if he is legitimate, he is, and will do what he says he will do. That said, if you're not from this part of the country, you need to know a couple things:
None of the tow companies I called would tow us anywhere that isn't a repair shop. None of the repair shops I called would look at the car without charging an expensive fee for every single night the vehicle was at their shop! Additionally, it is very difficult to locate a Uhaul or rental car place that has anything available going one way. And abandoned cars are a problem in PA, so every single person I interacted with about our car acted like it had a bomb strapped to the roof. It did not, to be clear.
We ended up salvaging the car to Chris's, in addition to the hauling fee. I understand there was a blizzard going on and all the places were busy, but it definitely affected my opinion of PA in general.
Lastly, Chris harassed my son until the title was sent, but it's not like my son was planning on salvaging the car when he drove it into PA. The title had to be mailed from MT, notarized, and sent to him. It took time. Overall a very unpleasant experience in Pennsylvania.
Chris did go the extra length to drop my wife and son off at a hotel, and unload the car again so we could unload all of his belongings, but given what was paid, I have a hard time describing this as a charitable act. And as a shade tree mechanic, losing a car over a simple clutch job kills me. But it was simply too far away to haul home.
If I could give Chris 6 stars, I would. Broke down in PA, needed to get to 3.5 hrs away to VA on a saturday night at 4 in the afternoon. Chris picked up, canceled his plans, and said he could do it. The next 3.5 hrs with Chris were amazing! He was such a cool dude to talk with and get to know on our trip! Chris doesn’t hesitate to help people and he’s been around town, this guy KNOWS what he’s doing. I cannot recommend Chris enough.
We had a flat tire during a ski trip late at night in the mountains, and the situation was stressful—especially with the car battery draining. Tesla was unable to send roadside assistance due to the location, so we were really worried. Chris came to the rescue and completely turned the experience around. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and clearly understood the towing process, especially for a Tesla. His sense of humor helped calm us down and made a tough situation much easier to handle. Excellent service, fair pricing, and truly reliable help when we needed it most. Highly recommended.
My boyfriend and I unfortunately did not have a pleasant experience. We saw great reviews for Chris and were hoping he could help tow our vehicle, as we had to abandon it overnight due to snowy weather and a car crash. We were not fully comfortable with the way Chris wanted to handle the towing , and instead of being accommodating, he hung up on us mid-call, would not answer the phone afterwards, and told us to find another provider.
For background, my boyfriend and I stayed overnight at a nearby hotel while the car remained near the site of the crash. Chris offered to pick up the key, go to the scene of the crash to pick up the car, then return and pick us up. We were not comfortable giving the key to a stranger (as we had personal belongings in the car and generally wanted to oversee the towing incase any other damage occurs-- especially when the conditions were so bad). When we expressed our concern to Chris, and offered to meet him at the car, he hung up on us mid-sentence and then texted us (after several unsuccessful attempts on my end to contact him) that if we don't trust him, to find a different provider.
We were thankfully able to find a very kind and accommodating towing company who responded very fast and was much more affordable ($250 cheaper)!
Hard working amazing company with an even more amazing, helpful, and knowledgeable owner, Chris. The fact that he goes above and beyond to help his community and clientele is a major wow factor! ? Thank you so much for helping my family when we needed a tow. He not only came right away but helped look at and get the broken tire back on the vehicle to safely get it on the trailor. I'm so very grateful to live in a small town with amazing people like Chris from Chris's Towing and Recovery!

Caught a screw on 76 on a 8 hour drive back home. After realizing we lost too much air and couldn't fix it. Googled roadside tire repair, called Chris and when my call dropped he immediately called back. He was over in 20 minutes got the spare out, took it to get more air came back put it on and put the flat back. He was super friendly and quick. Of course it was 90 degrees and he was on the hot pavement fixing everything. So thankful for him helping so we could get back home. Seriously top notch service and guy!
My truck broke down while pulling my boat home from the lake. Chris's towing came and got my truck, very friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend!

I was in a tight spot on a Sunday morning far from home, traveling solo with my three kids. Chris was the only tow service in the area to answer the phone, and I was lucky he was there: he took the time to stick around at the repair shop once we got there, to make sure that the car was taken care of and we were able to go on our way. He even offered to fix the car himself if the shop didn’t have any available appointments. If we hadn’t found a kind and professional tow service, it could have been a truly terrible day, and I’m so grateful to Chris for taking such good care of us.
Caught a flat while on our roadtrip with our kids. Ended up getting the number for Chris from someone who stopped to ask if we needed help. He answered, and was shortly headed our way. He was able to tow us, get our rusty spare down, fix us up to send us on our way. Thankfully we made it back home to Ohio with no issue! Thank you, Chris, for coming to our rescue, giving us a good few laughs, and everything you do! You were our lifesaver! You are saved in our contacts in case we ever head back your way! You rock!
I used this service a couple of weeks ago for a tire blowout and was charged nearly $1300 just to put an overly used tire on my truck. The last repair I had done elsewhere included a new tire and airbag for under $900.00. This was a total rip-off. I had to pay again the following week to have someone replace the overly used tire with a brand new one. If you want to inflate your prices, please ensure the quality matches!!! He will blame it on the Turnpike for yeh reason why you have to pay him entirely way more than most. I wouldn’t even be writing this post if he had the decency to put a brand new tire on my truck for that amount. Never again!!!

Called just now at 0200 with a flat after driving for 18 hrs already today with 2 more to go and, of course caught a nail. Chris answered immediately! He will be to me within 30 mins to help! What a saving grace of a man when you leave your jack at home ??♀️ Thank you Chris! ?

Not only did Chris tow the vehicle, he stayed with me and advocated for me until the Rental Company rectified the situation and drove me to pick up my replacement.

Chris " went the extra mile " to help me out when my truck developed an electrical problem. Although he is not a mechanic by trade, he took the time to diagnose the problem and perform some electrical connection cleaning that got my truck running again. A true good person-highly recommended!
Hands down the absolute best towing company out there. Chris goes above and beyond way more than I would have ever expected him to. He got to me within a reasonable amount of time and was able to fix my car for me after he towed it to his shop if you are ever in need of Chris's help with Towing I would definitely recommend you use him if you want the best service

After sitting on the Turnpike for 3 hours with no help from anyone, we found Chris on a last attempt and he was a HUGE help. Chris offered to give us a ride to a safe place and go back for our broken down car. He picked up our car and dropped it off at the exact place we needed. I would highly recommend Chris. After a long day, he helped make it a little easier.
Chris gave us a tow when our car's transmission went out halfway through a long roadtrip. He went above and beyond and gave us mechanic recommendations and even drove us up a half hour to get a rental car. A real lifesaver!
