I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at West Overton! I recently had my wedding at this venue (October 2024) and was blown away by the support and help I received from the Event Coordinator, Lindsey Pierce! Lindsey was accommodating and went above and beyond for me and my husband. No request was too big, and Lindsey was so positive and genuinely interested in helping us achieve our wedding dreams. My mom and I made many trips up to the venue from 2023 - 2024, and Lindsey always welcomed us with open arms and answered all of our questions (even the ones we had already asked her 10x). Outside of our venue visits, she was very responsive via text and e-mail, which helped tremendously because we do not live close to Scottdale. I was always very confident that we had everything handled at the West Overton as I navigated things with my other vendors because Lindsey was so on top of things. Lindsey and her staff really maintain a beautiful space at the West Overton. It really is a perfect hidden gem in West Moreland Country, and you can tell it's because the staff really cares about where they work. The grounds, the museum, and the barn were always pristine and offered a unique experience for our wedding guests. Three weeks later, we're still getting feedback from our guests saying how beautiful and special our wedding venue was. I cannot recommend the West Overton enough if you are hunting for a wedding venue. You are in the best hands with Lindsey and her staff; I know they will ensure you have the most special day. Lindsey is kind, caring, sweet, funny, organized, and so much more! If you're lucky, you'll also walk away with a friend for life!

Incredible place, beautiful and so much history. Absolutely a must visit

This place is part of the pour tour. I was not able to go on the actual tour of the museum but I did get to see their bar area and talk to one of the employees about their rye whiskey. I’m so astounded by the amount of information that I learned about rye whiskey, their location, and the history of it all. If you like to learn, and you like whiskey, stop by at this place and take a look around.

They have this cool looking beehive coke oven. When I go to the museum I will post pictures

We had our wedding there in August of ‘23. Every step of the planning process was seamless and easy thanks to both Lindsey and Patrick. There are several location options for ceremony and reception on the grounds and the entire property is stunning and well-kept. I recommend this venue to friends who are wedding planning and anyone looking to have a party, in general. I would choose this location again and again for any event. Excited to go back and visit in the future.

The venue and staff at West Overton is AMAZING and was the perfect venue for our Wedding in August. Lindsey and Patrick were there to support us for setup and during the reception and were nothing but rockstars. The big barn was beautiful - we had plenty of space to dance even with 200+ guests and our guests loved being able to walk the grounds and stand outside also. We 10/10 recommend West Overton - it is such a unique and classic venue space with so many great photo spots!

Beautiful grounds with a very informative tour! There are also tastings, a museum, & a gift shop! Definitely a must see whether you're a history lover, passing through, or are new to the area.

World class museum experience that focuses on the 19th century from a variety of working class points of view. Neighboring Fort Allen Antique Farm equipment is an excellent compliment to West Overton with a variety of displays related to agriculture. A must see!

I hadn’t heard of the place before the day I arrived. What a hidden gem! This was a quaint drive to such an expansive yet humble village, an absolute must-stop for any traveling history buff. I would be happy to come back and tour some more of it, since this time I was simply passing through.

Went to a baby shower there. It was a very nice place. Clean and spacious.

This facility is beautiful! Wonderful historical site... if you are thinking of having your wedding here please...RUN!!! FAR AWAY! After our walk through and discussion of how we would like to flow to be, we were given a contract that specified a completely different objective. They say you can choose your own catering, lies... you have a list to select from their partners or else you will be nickel and dimed on multiple expenses! They set you up for failure at every turn. Patrick the coordinator upsold the venue and then tried to change the cost structure and charge an exorbitant amount! Never have I been so disappointed in a heritage site.

My daughter and now son In-law had their wedding last weekend, Oct 1, 2022 at West Overton Village. What a fantastic experience we had. Patrick and his staff made our wedding experience outstanding. Even though the rain did not cooperate, the staff made everything happen. The reception in the Big Barn was everything we could have asked for. We are getting many complements about the event. You must love history to enjoy this outing. Took a tour of the house and museum. We were there on a Saturday so there was Rye whiskey tasting. 😁👍The worker houses down the road are sketchy. The museum talked about the life of the workers. The tour of the house gets into the family history.

Went on the Christmas by candle light tour, enjoyed it very much and was something different to do before the holiday. As always great to learn more about the local history and even better how they would of viewed and celebrated Christmas at West Overton. Our tour guide was awesome and the wasel we had after was delicious. Great job to all involved.

Awesome! We were pleasantly surprised to step for a couple hours into the past. Our tour guide, Emily, was very knowledgeable as she shared details that enriched the history of the Overholt Family, their farm, weaving business and the West Overton Distillery Company. This tour shouldn’t be missed…

Emily gave us the most thorough and interesting experience I could have asked for. So much history in PA so close to home.

Tour guide Ben gave an awesome tour! Completely fascinating history with lots of fun stories to give context on lots of different aspects of the region/grounds/people! Can’t wait to come back with friends ans family for tastings or DIY history events!

Had never heard of this historic Whiskey Distillery and birthplace of Henry Clay Frick. Only an hour from Pittsburgh. It was worth the trip! Had a fantastic tour guide and enjoyed the beautiful fall leaves on the ride there. The buildings open for the tour are beautifully preserved. The museum has nostalgic memorabilia and historic artifacts. They are working on opening a Whiskey Distillery on site which would be a fantastic addition.

My family toured this wedding venue and were amazed with the rustic beauty. There are lovely places to have your ceremony, both inside and out. The big barn provides plenty of room for a wonderful wedding. I can't wait for the big day!

You should definitely try to attend some of the stuff offered here. They put on a very nice event. We've done a whiskey smash, paint and sip (not good but not really done by them), blind pig party, several weddings and a whiskey talk thing. Every event was great! Lots of parking and kind staff add to the great experience here.

Interesting historical place on its own with an expanding museum.

Beautifully kept historic village. Picturesque for any occasion. Their May Market is a splendid event supporting local businesses.

Incredible find for events! Lots of parking, short drive off turnpike exit and right near Connellsville and Mt Pleasant. Their May day event brought hundreds of people - crafts, moonshine, lamps, plants, baked goods GAP trail bike trail, Westmoreland County heritage tourism, and one overly priced corndog truck. Lol. West Overton Village is a GEM of a place to host weddings, family reunions, or other company outdoor parties. Check out their site!
