This is another run of the mill copart sublot. They faithfully scrape the bumpers and mar components under the vehicle. This is figured into the price when bidding of course! Also no payments or titles at the sublots. That needs done either online or at the main lot. They are reasonably punctual however and likely will make all the necessary adjustments to avoid these little gremlins in the future so bid with confidence!
I bought a car from them at Auction a few months back. I paid to have it inspected by one of their inspectors before hand and he confirmed that the vehicle started and ran. Their website also said the vehicle started and ran. When I showed up to pick up the car I realized it had thrown a rod through the side of the block.
There is no way in hell that vehicle started on ran with a 2 inch hole in the side of the engine. Don't trust their listings or their inspectors. I don't doubt you can score some great deals here, but if you haven't seen it for yourself, I wouldn't put any faith in Coparts description of a car.
After traveling 5 hours to pick up our vehicle, the general manager informed us that we would not be able to take the vehicle due to poor weather conditions. Let me just say we did our part and called 24 hours before to let them know we would be coming for our car - they took no responsibility to call and let us know that they closed the lot for that day. He informed us that they would not be able to lift or move any cars that day because it was too dangerous. After going back and forth with him for quite some time we noticed other cars being moved in the lot. After negotiations and a few mentions of going to court, we were allowed to take our PAID for car off the lot. Would never do business with his Copart again. Terrible customer service.
Staff here are so friendly and knowledgeable. They play by the rules and we’re able to get me the information I needed. They took the time to go above and beyond to answer all my questions about the process of what happens to the total loss vehicles.
Don’t have your car taken there. They go through your vehicle and take stuff before you can get to it. I had over $500 worth of stuff and legal documents stolen or thrown out by them when the vehicle wasn’t their property yet.
Went through my vehicle and determined what paperwork they believed was important and not important. Service records for my vehicle were thrown out when I use them for tax return purposes as a business expense. My divorce decree was in my glove box and is now somewhere lost in the trash and I have to pay to order a new, unoriginal, one. I did not sign any paperwork or speak to anyone about what happens to my vehicle when someone else totaled it. This was the frosting on the cake - lost my vehicle due to an incompetent trucker, it gets towed away to the middle of nowhere where I can't trek 2.5 hours to go through it myself only to send my fiance out to grab my paperwork that CoParts decided to throw out. Policy or not - throwing out ones personal belongings without their input is not right in anyway. Change your policy, notify the owner of the vehicle, DO something. I didn't ask for my car to be towed to your lot and rummaged through, but that comes with me not asking for my car to be totaled either.
