This place actually ended up being very easy to find and the staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful. This is my first time being here and just dealing with a solid waste place in general. They allowed me to dispose of four bags of trash from my cabin for only $7.50. The person at the scale and the actual dumping area was so friendly and so helpful. And then the two ladies running the register inside the small little toll booth were also incredibly friendly and Incredibly helpful.
Was not publicly posted that they were closed today. Myself and several others were waiting in line this morning. Google showed as open 8 to 12. Very disappointed to have to haul my trash back home and find somewhere to keep it until next weekend.
I was recently told they do free cardboard recycling here, so I saved up my cardboard, loaded it into my truck, and stopped by. I was shocked by how rude the two guys I interacted with were. They immediately started barking orders at me and seemed agitated at my mere presence. I have no clue why. I was so surprised with how rude they were that I even asked them if they were having a tough day, and they said not at all.
My conclusion was that they aren’t great guys, but I think what set them off was my speed of backing up. It wasn’t well-lit compared to outside, and I didn’t have a backup cam in the truck, so I was being extra cautious. But I guess maybe they wanted me to whip it?
It was very surprising since people in this area are typically kind. I also had trash this day and the people on the other side were polite.
It was an older gentleman with grey hair and a tubby middle-aged guy with a dark beard. Unfortunately, since this is a gov operation I’m sure they’ll get along treating people horribly for the rest of their careers. If they treat strangers like this, I feel sorry for their families.
Anyways, suffice to say, no more recycling for me. I’ll stick with Casella. I went there to take out garbage, not be treated like it.
ALSO, I reflected on whether it was my fault in any way. At no point did I block anyone or the entrance, I was sure not to be rude in return, my cardboard was properly flattened and free of any contamination, it wasn’t near closing time, and they didn’t even seem busy.
We were there 5/24/25 with a trailer load. The guys are great there. We accidentally looked the keys in the truck. They had the equipment to unlock our door before the trailer was even unloaded! Big thanks for getting us on our or way!
Went to the Solid Waste Authority for the first time Monday. Very streamlined process, well run operation. Everyone there was friendly. I had some heavy boxes and the workers jumped right in to help us unload. Thank you, you are appreciated more than you know!
The 2 gentlemen that was working this morning June/ 26/2024 morning hours are so awesome!!!! They are more then kind they also noticed after emptying my pickup of trash out the back a huge plastic piece hanging under the front of my truck, they informed me of this and I told them I know We hit a huge porky pine and that’s a plastic thing from the back of the bumper. I’ve tried many times to get it off because was tired of being waved down from Other drivers. They ask if I wanted he can get that off! I stated I tried but the plastic is full of quilts and got in my hands so I gave up, he says I can get it off if u want? I said heck yeah!!!!’ Took him 10 seconds to pull it off then asked if I wanted it I said h”ll no!!! My insurance would drop me if I reported anything else no one can see it hurts nothing thank u guys so much! They just go above and beyond their duties!!! They are awesome and so so kind every time I am there!!!!! Love them guys!!!
Recycling and Trash drop off. Get in line to where your vehicle with the trash. Unload your trash. Then get in line and weigh your vehicle again. Then go and pay, along with your borough and last name.
