Extremely rude lady running the place. If putting on one windshield wiper is so much of an inconvenience when the place is completely empty maybe you should not be working a job with customer service.
I often feel one person is running everything alone, and I've even had to install my own battery because they couldn't leave the store even though i was parked at the door because of that (in 2022) the staff are fine but managment/corporate needs to hire more people per shift
Normally have good experiences with this store, but had my first bad experience over the phone with a female associate earlier today. I had called about returning a part (ABS speed sensor) for my 2013 VW Passat. When I ordered the part online, I didn't recall seeing it specify the location (front vs rear) so I ordered the part and upon removing the previous part realized it wouldn't fit. I was certain that the website didn't make a distinction between the front and the rear ABS sensor, so I called to see if I would be eligible for a refund based on my understanding of the problem and thinking the website had failed to state the location. The woman I spoke to wrote me off from the start, and at the risk of wasting her time and mine, I figured I would check online to be sure before I called back.
After checking for the part number on my cell phone, and not finding any specification (front vs rear) I called back and tried to explain what I was seeing. Immediately upon hearing it was me calling back she interrupted me, and as I was trying to talk, ignored me and talked over me as she walked me through her replicating the steps. I decided to stop trying to explain and just listen to her, but I simply wasn't seeing it specify the part.
At the risk of making her more angry I decided to just thank her for her time, and mention I would call another location if I can't explain my issue and/or what I'm seeing.
I ended up identifying the issue - when looking up the part without specifying a vehicle, there is no distinction listed between front and rear. I must've made a similar mistake when I placed the order - understood. My only complaint is.. I'm not particularly car savvy - I'm just a guy trying to save some money as the world becomes a less and less affordable place. I always treat people with the same kindness and patience I expect to receive when talking over the phone. All the accusations that she made over the phone did was disorient me, and make me want to forget it - regardless of whether I was in the right or not on the actual return.
Again.. every other time I've visited this store, the people have been more friendly than i expected, so it's always nice to talk to them, even briefly. I think this was probably an isolated incident, and I hope there weren't any external factors causing her to be so difficult to work with - I've worked retail before, and I get it.. some people will lie cheat and steal to get their way. I just wanted to do what I thought was right. I'll probably visit the store again, I mean.. it would be wild to drive further to avoid her, but dang.. I wish she could've just calmed down a bit so I could understand the discrepancy.
I used the Advanced Auto app purchase a five gallon bucket of oil to be picked up at the North George Street location. A week later after stopping three times they still didn't have the order.. They said it wasn't their problem I had to call customer service. More than a week later i still don't have my oil but there's still a 77 dollar hold on my account and it's not their problem because I have to call customer service. Customer service is only open 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday enjoy the hold time. I'm getting tired of people always passing the buck I'm standing at the counter at the store three times and they can't do anything about it because someone else did it just wrong.
Very helpful staff. Experience is questionable but are always willing to help look up the parts needed for your vehicle. I have also seen their employees putting on wipers and batteries for customers. I highly recommend.
Great customer service. A couple months back I purchased a set of mid grade wipers and they never really worked great. I don't really drive much and thought less about it . I stopped in for something else and spoke to Denny about them and he took the time to check them out and seeing they were not right he replaced them right on the spot .

Stopped in to find a rear wiper for my vehicle. Employees showed me the exact one I needed. (They no longer have the reference books or computers for you to search through... They do it for you!)
To top it off, after the sale, they offered to put the wiper on. Thankfully I had them do it as it was a bit tough for them. It would have been much worse for me if they had trouble!
Definitely recommend this place. Helpful and friendly employees.
Don't buy anything electronic here . Bought car battery charger and felt price was to high. Went to Walmart found something cheaper. Tried returning unopened charger 3 hours later . Was told no returns on any electronic device .
As usual if it wasn't convenient I probably wouldn't go here. I misplaced my battery terminal cleaner and was in the neighborhood so I stopped in to get a new one. Well as usual I walked the whole store without finding one. They weren't with the batteries or the battery cables or the electrical stuff. Turns out they are in a bin under the counter. Really disorganized. When I get home I go to use it and the brush for the terminals on the cables isn't big enough to clean the positive. Piece of junk, just like most of the stuff they sell.
This is the best auto parts store ive ever dealt with. Ive been working on my own vehicles since I turned 16 and im 39 now. Every other place only does or goes as far as what the computer says. My most recent visit samed me a lot of money and headaches. I have a 2010 370z and the rear passenger caliper went bad (torn dust boot) and i called around and couldnt find any store that had them or would even order them. Mike at the manchester location first gave me a number to another supplier trying to help because oh yeah Nissan wanted $650 for one! So after i still couldnt find one i stopped back up to see mike to try anything else. He did a little digging and found out that the Maxima had the same caliper. He even double checked the actual casting number of the part. The calipers ordered and its only gonna cost me $86 plus tax. The other places should take notes. That's how you help someone out. I went in and had them order a part for me. Told me it would be in later that day. It didnt come in that day like i was told. I'll take my business to somewhere that does what they say.
Could have been better. Associate that cashed me out failed to ask me to join the rewards program when they already had my phone number entered in the check register.
I've been buying here now for about a year. I do search the online catalog to see if they have what I need and all but once they did...they got that one thing a few hours later so really no issues at all. The people working here are not the pushy I know everything type either...as far as in town parts go this is it for me.
From 1 star to 5 stars! I had a really bad customer service experience a few months ago and stopped going in this location. However I needed some belts recently and decided to give them another try. They have some new counter help and I can honestly say I have had several great customer service experiences in the last few weeks! I'm happy to be a customer again. Keep up the great work!
Good service and a solid parts selection for most makes and models of vehicles. Your vehicular basics are always in stock (things like motor oils, transmission fluids, coolants, etc). The staff is always willing to assist with finding the right parts for your car. Would recommend this Advanced for your do it at home car needs.

The staff is definitely the most helpful I've ever dealt with. They aren't pushy at all and will look stuff up for you if you can't find it. They have great tools for locating bolts and screws for vehicles.
Called on the latest snow storm and ask Cory if he could install a new battery. Without hesitation
he said thats what we are here for. It was really snowing. But he did it. No problem. Thank you Cory, your a asset to Advance Auto.
