These guys are the best! I had a slight issue with my car hesitating on the start. They fit me in on my day off and handed me a key for a car to drive so I wouldn’t have to Uber home. As it turned out, there was nothing wrong with my car. No charge for checking it out. I’m really impressed with their honesty and the service they provide, so I’m telling anyone who will listen. My whole family will be going here from now on!

So I called right when my ac went out in my 2010 Hyundai sonata and they got me in the same day when they were already slammed with customers to get my car in for a diagnostic they got everything taken care of so fast and fluently and I couldn't recommend this shop to enough people they will always take care of you to the Best of their abilities and then some so if you're looking for a shop look no longer this is the place for you thanks again Hampton automotive and towing
I've been using Hamden Auto since 2013 when they were at the old location. I drive older vehicles so I depend on a reliable mechanic. Not sure they are the cheapest but time is money and you get what you pay for. I appreciate that they always communicate before work is performed.
This was a terrible experience, I believe I was overcharged and the employees there showed little to no interest in getting back to me. I went there for a state inspection at first they tried to charge me for a minor electrical problem that had no relevance to the state inspection and I declined that. They went on to say I need a new seatbelt that they can order for me. On the phone when I asked the estimate of the seatbelt I was told around $225 for the total. After I got there they charged me $473 total for everything and they charged me for a seatbelt of $260, even though I see seatbelts that fit my car for around $125. They neglected to tell me that the $225 did not include "labor." The entire time I had to follow up with them even though they sad I would get a call when my car was done. I did not receive a single call from them for any updates, placing the burden on me to call them every step of the way. When the seatbelt was ready, the person at the desk even had to ask me what the estimate was because they were unprepared even though they said my car was ready. It was an unbelievably frustrating and costly experience. I highly recommend going somewhere else in the area, there are many places that can do inspections. I will never be going back to Hampden Auto.
Was in a crappy suitation 50min away from home. With a slashed tire and no spare. My towing service had me waiting for an hour. Owner came and scooped me up in 15 min and even tho the roadside assistance told them I didn't need a ride.. I did. Without much thought he let me hop in the truck and got me home safe. Talked the whole way home. Great guy, looking out for someone in need. Will recommend or use again if I'm ever in the area. If you see this thank you again.

I wish I would have taken my car here sooner! The entire experience with this shop was fantastic! My car warranty had finally expired and I was looking for a local shop to take over my car repairs and upkeep. Luckly, I found Hampden Automotive! From the moment I walked into the shop I got that warm and fuzzy mom and pop shop feel. The General manager, Jamie Sounders shot the breeze with me to tell me all about the business and how they could take care of me and my automotive needs. I also spoke to a couple of the mechanics whom were very knowledgeable as well as easygoing. Just my style! I was very pleased at how quickly they got the job done and how reasonable the price was! Honesty and integrity can still be found in the industry with this company! I am now a loyal customer for life!

Great experience with Hampden Automotive. Took my daughters car there because I could not diagnose a noise issue. They took the car out, looked at the suspension and felt there was no issue to be addressed. They could have easily made something up and charged me and I would never have known the difference. This is an honest company; I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a mechanic/garage that is ethical.

Called in on Thursday to Make an appointment for inspection and was told they would be able to get me in first thing Monday morning. Once I arrived I was greeted with a hello and smile. They took my name and information, I handed over the keys and came back about two hrs later. It’s nice feeling your business is appreciated and they were very quick with getting me in and out. I love when I am able to get in and out of places due to only having one vehicle at this time.

Jamie and the team at Hampden Automotive provide some the of greatest quality and care I have ever come across when it comes to auto repairs. I bought a car that ended up needing a lot of work right away and Jamie was extremely helpful in helping me figure out what needed to be done. Not only that, but they went out of their way to serve me and help me afford the repairs that needed to be done. I never felt pressured by them or like I was being cheated at all. They were straight forward, fast, and kept their word. I had a few issues after the initial repairs but they took the car back and fixed the issues at no extra cost since it was something that they had just worked on. The has been running really well now and I’m so grateful for Hampden Automotive. I HIGHLY recommend going to Hampden Automotive for any automotive needs you have. The team will not only help provide answers, but they will provide you with all the information and NOT pressure you at all. They are fair and CARE about their customers! I called in the morning after experiencing my car running hot and the temp guage in the red. They were able to get me in the same day. Jamie greeted me when I walked in, immediately took my keys and checked out my car. They filled the coolant that was over 1/2 gallon low and topped off a few other fluids. They were quick and efficient and didn't charge me for their time or the fluids they used in my car.
They were kind and considerate. And we will definitely be returning for service in the future!
i was visiting Pennsylvania from New York and saw there was a screw in my rear tire. Oh my gosh, what to do?? i googled automotive places near by and saw that Hampden had good reviews so that is where i went. i was not disappointed. turns out, i needed a new tire which they quickly searched around for a replacement tire that was comparable to the one they were replacing. Very happy with their service and they are very nice people as well! highly recommended!
I cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism from Jamie, to the receptionist, to the guys who worked on my car. I needed my car inspected and was given a quote of approximately $4,000 at another garage. My son used Hampden and highly recommended them. So I decided to go there. Jamie worked with me and concluded I was being way over charged with things that did not need fixed for inspection. I needed 2 front tires and brake, pads and rotors and a few other things and got my price down to $559. I will continue to only use Hampden Automotive in the future and recommend them highly to everyone!!
I can’t speak highly enough about the team at Hampden Automotive. This was my first mechanic after getting my first car and I was skeptical as we all hear about mechanics attempting to cheat people and over charge them for things. If that is your concern, please hear me when I say that you can feel safe at Hampden Automotive. James, the general manager, is one of the nicest people I met and everything he has told me in regard to what I need for my car and the pricing of those services has been spot on. I’d ask some of the mechanics that my parents trust and they would verify everything James told me. This year I completely forgot about my inspection date and the little post card they sent in the mail did a great job of reminding me. This is such a great place to take your vehicles. My boyfriend and i have been taking our cars here for a while now, James and his staff are so friendly and welcoming when you walk through the door. Great prices, they do great work and in a timely manner. James helped pick out some great tires for my jeep. I highly recommend bringing what you need fixed to them, you won’t be disappointed!
I initially took my car to Hampden Automotive because it was convenient but I continue to go back because of the great experience I always have there. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I always understand what is going on with my vehicle and the time it will take. They are always able to service my vehicle in a timely fashion and I've never been surprised with extra charges or delays. Their prices are very fair and their work is excellent.
