We have been using McCullough for many years and their service has only deteriorated. Over the last 3 weeks, our recycles has been picked up but not the trash and this has nothing to do with weather. When you try to call them, no one answers. Not a satisfied customer.

I asked for a list of all fees for residential trash removal, I was told $105 per quarter with only a one-time $50 set up fee. The first bill arrived for two quarters (legitimate) with an extra $125 billed. They sent a postcard after I left a message asking to speak with someone about the charges and was ignored - no call backs. Essentially they billed me 3 times for the opening fee. When I finally got “Jean” live on the phone and I cancelled the service, even though I cancelled twice through email, she tried to gaslight me by saying I was only charged $260 instead of what I was actually charged. I have saved the postcard and screenshots of my account bills in case they try to get this post taken down. Don’t use this service unless you don’t care about paying extra, bad customer service and ignored requests for assistance.

Im in the industry. You guys are quick and thorough, I'll give you that. But EVERY house has their empty trash can left in the center of the driveway. Error. That's a Mascaro move. Im happy to see yall growing so much! I love seeing that. Salute

We live in Yardley / Lower Makefield Township and have been using McCullough for our weekly residential trash removal service for the past couple years and they’ve been great. They have fair prices, and they pick up the trash as expected. We get two trash pick ups, and a recycle pick up in a week. Other competitors in the area are charging more for their waste management service and only allowing one pickup. I was recommended to McCullough by my friend in Morrisville because they are a local family owned business, with a lot of history in the area. I know there are some negative reviews here about them, but I haven’t run into the issues that people talked about. Anytime I call with a question, the people pick up the phone and everyone I’ve talked to has been nice and accommodating for us. If you’re looking for a Trash & Recycling company I highly recommend McCullough Rubbish Removal.

They are always forgetting or going past homes where I live and not picking up the trash, plus the lady in the office that answers the phones is so ignorant and has no respect for paying customers. You’s definitely need better office management and to fire that lady

The customer service is absolutely horrible. I was supposed to have a bulk pickup on Thursday 9/19. Called at 3pm, and was advised the pickup would be Friday. Called Friday and left a vm. No callback. Called Monday morning at 1030, and was advised that it was picked up. I can assure you it wasn't. Was told I would receive a callback in 30 minutes. No callback. Finally reached them at 415pm, and was advised they were still working on it. No apology, nothing!!! If I get a citation from the HOA you better believe McCullough will be paying for it because I am not bringing the items back in my hope after being outside for 4 days. Customer service needs much improvement. In my opinion, the woman who answers the phone has absolutely no people skills. She never follows through on commitments as well as needs to learn how to apologize for mistakes.

Absolutely the worst service we have ever had with any company we have ever dealt with. Very nice on the phone when you are able to talk on the phone, but they won’t return your phone call. And they definitely will not respond to emails. This month (July) missed two consecutive pick ups and trash is overflowing. Maybe they will come Thursday I’m told...not holding my breath, that is for sure.

Have had them for 5 years. 2 pick ups a week. Very little price increase over the 5 years and consistent service. They let you put up to 6 additional bags next to your can for pickup too. Pleasant pick up guys too. All the other companies in Bensalem only do 1 pick up a week.

I was so excited to switch to McCullough. I disliked my last service because they consistently skipped out pickup. Now McCullough has started the same behavior- skipped pickups, and no attempt to either reimburse some of the cost or come out on another day. The customer service is non existent and rude. No one will answer the phone on a Friday (who wants to talk to an upset customer on Friday?). It's time for a change.

We Called for a replacement recycling can since the trash men threw it and broke it. Was told we’d receive one in 2-3 weeks. We waited that time period and didn’t receive one. I called this time on behalf of the account holder and was told they never wrote our request down and would have to wait an additional 2 weeks. The woman in the office Jean R. refused to offer any type of remediation. I asked if we could have one delivered sooner since we already waited 3 weeks and was told no. I asked for a discount off of our service and was told no and that I would receive a can in 2 weeks. When I asked to speak with a supervisor she told me she was lol. She said because the account holder already receives a senior discount they wouldn’t do anything else. Oh but if I wanted to pay extra money every month I could get a larger recycling can but I’d still have to wait 2 weeks.

I always have such a good experience with McCullough. Today I had a mattress pick up and they went out of their way to come to the garage and get the mattress because they saw that I forgot to put it out. They also helped with other items that were heavy. The drivers couldn’t have been more pleasant.

Bulk pick up missed for the 4th week in a row. Called every week and yep they are coming this week…well nope. Not happening. I know the mattress looks lovely in my driveway m, I bet it will look better when it’s sitting on Mccoullough’s lawn this weekend.

Miserable customer service. We are getting ready to list our house and have potential buyers walking through. In getting ready, we got rid of a lot of household goods. I called ahead and got permission to put out 10 extra contractor bags of stuff. I went out this morning and the driver had only taken six, so we have showings and four big bags of junk on the curb. I called the customer service lady three times to have them pick up the bags they left behind for no reason and I get no accountability, no answers, nothing an ordinary business was would do to take care of their customers. They feel the customer is a captive and has to take whatever service they provide. No recourse, so I’m letting people know the truth. Guess I will run out and find a place to hide the bags they were supposed to take. Just miserable.

They deserve ZERO stars. My driver is insane, curses and swears at the cans in the morning, and God forbid you call the office to let them know about ANYTHING. This mean old lady who answers the phone is the most miserable person I've ever talked to. Anyone who gives 5 stars has NEVER spoken to this powder keg of hate on the phone. Trying to support a local small business and you get this in return? Whoever owns that company needs to get rid of her quickly. They won't from reading all these reviews! I'd rather sit naked on a cactus than talk to her. I cancelled my service.

They didn't pick up our trash on Saturday (the can was put at the curb Friday afternoon). I sent an email and got no reply. I called and was told that she will report it. They would not reimburse me for the missed service. They didn't offer to come out today to pick it up. This is no way to run a business. I'm very disappointed.

The most irresponsible garbage removal company. We have been asking for a new garbage can for 8 months. Their garbage trucks broke the lid off when picking up the garbage bin. After multiple calls and emails we still have not been given a new garbage bin. Animals break into it and throw trash everywhere so now we need to come up with a DIY solution.

Been using McCullough for five years, price went up maybe $3-5 in total over the years. (Not bad for diesel prices going crazy.) They never missed a pick up and the drivers are pleasant.

The trash pickup has been pretty consistent but if there is ever a missed pickup, a missed furniture pickup (for which you have to pay a premium) or really any mistake, their first response is deny, deny, deny. I’m not quite sure why the woman who handles customer service is perpetually annoyed but she’s just not nice and lies. She tells you “it will be picked up at some point” as if that is an acceptable response. There has never been one decent interaction with her and it’s almost humorous how bad she is with customers. We just want trash pickup on the days we pay for and a simple apology with a reasonable time frame to correct their mistake. It’s asking a lot I guess. Waste Management was awful too but at least they were far away so I expected horrible customer service. This is a local business. Do better.

We have used McCullough for the last two years. Haven’t had any real problems with the service. Have used them a few times over the past thirty years. They address issues if you make the call. Terrible to see people ‘Trash’ talking their business. Better than most trash services out there.

We started using and paying for McCullough in April and still have not had a recycling bin delivered 3+ months later. We have called weekly and have been told we will receive one at some point. This is unacceptable.

Surprised by all the negative reviews. I've used them since 2004 and have never had a serious problem. In those nineteen years, maybe 2-3 missed pickups and one instance when I had to call more than once to have a piece of old furniture picked up from the curb. Definitely nothing like the horror stories I'm reading on here.

10 days now without trash pick up during this cycle due to Aqua working on our street. I have called countless times asking for a credit due to lack of trash pickup and have been told it is not their fault that they can't get to our house. When asked what their plan is (ie: come earlier, later, on a Saturday, etc.) not only do I get a rude response, I am also just repeatedly told it is not their fault and they will call me back. Not once have I gotten a call back. When asked to speak to someone else I am told there is no one else to speak to. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Bad experience altogether! When we initially signed up we had numerous missed pickups. Finally got it resolved! Called a while back requested a smaller bin and was told it will be done shortly, 3 calls and 3 months in we keep getting the same excuse by an unpleasant woman that there is a lot of people waiting and the men are doing the best they can. Each time we were “put back on the list” for delivery. Changing companies asap. Stay away!

This company is getting worse and worse! I use the service for over 4 years, but they just always forgot our trash! It happened 4th times in the past 4 months including this morning! I just can’t believe why we paid and have no good service. The woman in the phone was so rude, she didn’t solve any problem just saying she will tell the work man. And also telling someone “I’m handling the complaint she said the trash didn’t pick up”. Yes!! Your guys didn’t pick up!!! You totally got that! Good job! How can you talk like this when you are still on the phone with your client?? And also using an rude voice saying “hello???” Really? Last year, we had our Christmas tree out there for over a month. We packed and cleaned it up but you just didn’t do your work!! How lazy! Stay away from this company everyone!! This is just ridiculous! Also, they don’t do the refund, and they ask you to pre-pay every 3 months. So I’ll need to keep using their service till the end of the year! This is the worse thing for me right now!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! We are going on 2 weeks now and still no resolve. We called after 1 week of no trash pick up. The lady at the front desk said she would relay the message and someone would come, this was on a Tuesday. They said someone in the evening would swing by and no one ever did. We called again, this time they said someone would be out on Friday. Guess what happened? No one came. We called yet again only for the lady at the front to tell us there’s nothing she can do because she just works in the office. By now our trash is piled up. When we initially spoke with them we already told them we have quite a bit of rubbish since we cleaned out our shed and they told us they would collect 6 bags at a time. Okay great. Guess what? They never showed! Only today did they come and they only took one container with 3 bags! I have it all on camera. Then I call AGAIN and was hung up on. The lady immediately put me on hold before I could even speak and hung up. Worst company. Do yourself a favor and AVOID AVOID AVOID!

It’s clear that we are not alone in our experience. When we first signed up, I requested the largest (96 gal container for recycling) and they told me we would receive that. We didn’t, and every time I called, I either got the voicemail, or Jean telling me that she would let the men know. Here we are 2 years later and we still don’t have it. Fast forward to July. We experienced 3 missed pickups and every time it was a different reason. The most recent was “well we have a lot of houses in your area.” While on our family vacation, our house sitters (my parents) told us that our trash had not been collected. I called McCullough to let them know, and they said it would be picked up the following Monday (not good enough, but fine). It was never picked up the following Monday. It was also not picked up on either trash only Thursday pickup. After 3 weeks of missed pickups, I had to have my parents pull our cans back from the curb a few feet as it is an eyesore and unfair to our neighbors to leave them. I guess at this point, she sent someone to come by to look for the cans and they were a few feet back. I called back for an update and she said the reason for the missed pickups was that our cans weren’t at the curb. I explained that after 3 missed pickups, they had to be pulled back. They finally picked up this trash, and a week later, miss another pickup. Again “we have a lot of houses in your area.” Be aware, they will never call you back. We were looking for answers and a partial refund and were told we will call you back by the end of the day. This happened 3 more times followed by us attempting to cancel service via phone and email. We left 5 voicemails and an email. I finally called back today and she said we are cancelling your service, and the reason for your missed pickups is that you didn’t put the trash at the curb. Obviously this is false. When I tried to calmly discuss this with her, she became rather belligerent, cutting me off, randomly putting me on hold, and borderline scolding me. I can’t believe this company is still in business. STEER CLEAR!

Shame this family owned business fails miserably on customer service. No doubt turnover is a problem here but after two missed pickups (entire street) in six weeks there was no effort to make up for the inconvenience. A simple response such as "this is our mistake, it won't happen again and we will offer you a credit" is the least they can do. Instead, they respond "if your not satisfied, go find another service!" They don't understand what it takes to retain and attract customers despite the competitive nature of this business. McCullough is a sinking ship that has somehow managed to stay in business.

I have been a customer using their weekly dumpster service for my business for the past 2 years. As of lately, they have been inconsistent by not picking up the trash for days after scheduled pick-up date. Our pick-up day is Monday and they sometimes don't pick up until the end of the week. When called, they stated they had a driver quit abruptly and this driver still has a copy of our gate key in which they cannot get back. Instead of reaching out and explaining the situation we had to call and are continuing to get the run around. If this review could be no stars I would have certainly chosen that option. The office people are rude and when I asked to speak with a manager I keep getting the run around. IF YOU HAVE AN OPTION TO SELECT ANOTHER COMPANY, I ADVISE IT UPDATE** I called back a few days later and finally was able to speak to the manager (Jean). From the moment she got on the phone she was defensive and being extremely rude raising her voice at me. After 12 minutes of going back and forth she basically told me that they could just come pick up the dumpster. I asked to speak with someone, anyone else but she told me she was the only one. At the end of the conversation it felt like I had been gaslighted by being talked down to and then told I was being rude in the same sentence. RUN FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!

We recently switched from a national waste removal business to McCullough, a locally owned business. We are pleased with their lower price and improved, professional service. Their drivers go out of the way to make sure the pick up is completely done.

I paid for a 96-gallon bin and received a smaller one. I've called and emailed to ask for the 96-gallon and keep getting the same response from the receptionist "I'll have my men check." She has been saying this for 3 months now. We have trash out the night before, and they keep missing our trash. They'll take one bag and not empty the bin or not take trash at all. We have footage from our Ring doorbell of them completely skipping our trash. I call and email and no response. So fed up with this unprofessional company. We switched to another company. DO NOT USE THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY.
