If the smell of smoked meat doesn't satisfy you here-turn back. Summer bologna is best. Fresh sausage is so good. Bring cash but they have an ATM which i have not used. Friendly staff. Large selection of meats and cheeses. Oh and their mustard pickles are amazing!
I absolutely love their meat sticks! They have great meat and different types of meat. We drive all the way from Brooklyn to come here. We have been there at least 20 times. My only issue is a few of the women who work behind the counter are kinda nasty. This past Saturday we were picking out our meats and she just keeps saying anything else in an annoying tone. We were the only people in store and she was even then rushing us out. I actually stopped picking out more meats and cheese because I was getting upset. So we hurried up and payed and we just left. Please a little curtesy goes along way. Don’t know if I want to go back now. So sad people have no manners anymore.
Dietrich’s is not the cheapest, but hands down has the best tasting steaks. I’ve personally spent thousands on there Fillet mignon, Porterhouse, Delmonico, and Ribeyes, but the steaks I got today left me frustrated. I asked for “two large, 2” thick fillet mignon’s” and received what I felt to be a pile of beef tips. (The end of the loin that was butterflied to appear as a larger steak, and another steak that came in two pieces) When I opened my $70 pack of steaks I gave them a call to explain my frustration, which they did not think was an issue at all. I wish I could come back, the steaks are delicious, but this will be my last time returning to Dietrich’s.
They have the best meats and smoked meats period. The tenderloin is beyond what words can describe. Buy a steak from them. then get one at a big chain store and see the difference. Real meat with very nice people. Just a FYI cash only they have an atm.
Oh the Smokey smell when you walk in nothing beats it. The selection is outstanding, nothing less. If you stand by the register you'll see the door swing open to the back. It's not fancy but I'll tell you it's good and worth the drive
They have a nicely stocked meat counter, but the price for many of the items are a bit higher than normal, not a huge selection of exotic meats and what they do carry doesn't make me want to buy. Their house-made products are very good, I'm still put off with the high prices.
I always love going to dietrich's meats especially for their beef bacon. But the past two times that I have gone ther to get the beef bacon, it was not the same. For some reason it was not Smokey enough and it lacked flavor. Very disappointed. I am afraid to go again to get the beef. Bacon because the two previous times it lacked is quality.
Being from Berks, my family has always went this place for one thing or another. My son now 21 STILL has chipped beef and summer bologna shipped to the desert from here! And they have hex signs for sale! A must stop when you're in the area.
Just ran out of scrapple. Our First time there was a few weeks ago. I will going there very soon to get some more scrapple and other meats my wife wants. Lebanon baloney is on her list along with the fresh bread. We are in lower Delco which is less than a 1/4 mile to Delaware and it not a bad trip during off high traffic time. The service was great. The hospitality feel was warm. Bring cash. Looking forward to our return!
Us Americans have a messed up relationship with food, and places like Dietrich's suffer because of it.
Nothing here is overpriced. It's going to cost more than whatever you find at Costco or ShopRite, but that's what prices look like when they aren't being artificially suppressed.
The meat cut variety is merely ok, but that's because they aren't sourced from a national commodity market.
You won't find 30-day aged tomahawk steaks or chorizo and boudin made in-house because they are just Pennsylvania Dutch butchers and frankly don't have time for that value-added bullhockey. Do that on your own time.
Dietrich's is WYSIWYG down to the core. If you have the taste for the difference and can palette the price (pun intended) you will be happy you shopped here.
Also they sell Moxie soda, a top-tier weird soda and one of my favorites, in addition to a long list of other strange and quirky convenience store parallels. The customer service is non-existent. Cash only. No bathroom. Be ready to blurt out your order as soon as someone looks at you otherwise you'll have to wait.
This place absolutely has the best meats and cheeses, along with sandwiches, honey, peanut butter, homemade, and so so much more! My favorites are the horseradish cheddar cheese and the chipped beef! I love making creamed chip beef for breakfast, and no other place can compare for this meat! They also have samples out so you may taste before you buy! And very warm and friendly service! Thank you!
I drove over an hour to get to Dietrich's to buy some of Ivan Hoyt's amazing artwork. While I was there, I bought some delicious meats. There were many other things I wanted so I will be back. The staff is so friendly too. I'll definitely be back! Cash only, FYI
The best place to get burgers, sausage, hot dogs, any kind of meat. They sell parts of the animal you wouldn't even think would be edible. I can not recommend this place enough. Wegmans, Costco, and Weis don't need your money. But your meat here.
The assortment of meats, poultry, deli products, baked goods, and local delicacies are commendable. The liverwurst and smoked bacon are incomparable. This place has so much to offer. You have to visit this place to truly experience how unique it is.
My family loves this place. We travel from Alabama to New York every year and this is one of our annual stops. Great smoked meats, country seasonings, unique bottled sodas, old fashioned candy and much more.
Decided to get off at exit 40 off I78 after seeing the sign for Dietrich's. Right off the highway and easy to get to. Great selection of all kinds of meat, bacon, sausage etc. Very interesting selection of country style food products. Prices seemed reasonable. Attentive staff. Wish we had a bigger cooler, we were traveling so wasn't able to stock up as much as I would have liked to.
We purchased their pickled toung and it was amazing!! Today we cooked one of the frozen ones we had purchased and it delicious as well very reasonable prices.
I really like the selection of unique meats. It's cash only which stinks but they do have a ATM in the store. It charges $2 to use it. I would have bought a lot more if they allowed credit cards. I'll definitely go there again.
Quail, squab, veal, lamb, goat, tongue, Brain, tail, rabbit, duck. So yummy.
Only 4 stars because it's expensive and no credit cards. Still one of my favorite stops when traveling.

Plus, premise-made incredible desserts including pies, dumplings, crisps, etc...
Many other locally sourced items, including but not limited to chips, pretzels, ice cream, and so on...
The photos give you a small example of the various offerings but play barely scratch the surface. Essentially, it is a micro grocery store with the best-of-the-best from the store itself and from the area.
Easy access on and off of I78. Or take the country byways and enjoy the ride too! ?

What a cool store! It was so good we stopped on our way back to get more! The meats were amazing, got a smoked Lebanon bologna, hot meat stick, jalapeño cheddar bologna, smoked Swiss cheese and the cookies were delicious! They will also make you a fresh sandwich, had a smoked bologna and cheese sandwich…soo tasty! Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area ????
This place is great. Stopped in on a whim. First of all, the smell when you walk in is amazing. We got a Farmers ham for Christmas. I had to get the Buffalo Sweet bologna! We also got homemade pretzels. The ham was absolutely delicious. Fell off the bone, had an amazing smoky flavor. The Buffalo Bologna is good too. Leaner than regular sweet bologna. Prices are good. I like to support small, local businesses like this. It is cash only, but they have an ATM on site (and only a $2 fee). Everyone was super friendly also. Definitely will be going back.
Great selection of smoked & fresh, frozen meats, lots of cheese, tasty pies, jams, jellys,candy, and a dairy case has local milk and yogurt, to name a few items. I bought a chocolate shoofly pie, smoked cheddar cheese and some salami everything was delicious.
Passing through, stumbled on this place by accident - I have bookmarked and plan on coming back!!

If you enjoy smoked meats you won't find a better place anywhere. Fresh-from-the-farm old-fashioned crafted meat of every kind.
They usually have free samples so you can try some of the things you may not be familiar with before purchasing.
If you want to try something they will always give you a taste in advance of your purchase.
I have found things I never heard of that I really like they're like that.
They have a smoke liverwurst that is unbelievable. They also have pork roll which you probably won't be familiar with unless you are from New York New Jersey or Pennsylvania. There's is very good. I like the Tangier version but it's impossible to find anymore anywhere. ShopRite used to have a tangy that was awesome but they change the recipe that I cannot find one anywhere. Someday I plan to ask dietrich's if they would make me an extra tangy batch and I bet they would if I bought 50 lb.
Quick stop in this place and plan to spend some time they have interesting stuff and will not cheap the prices are reasonable for the quality
6/23 Dietrich’s is not a diet stop. Load up on country cuts of meat and homemade stuff. Finally able to get in parking lot with a motorhome!! Cash only, ATM inside. Lots of help and look at the photos. Priced fairly!!
My problem was the price, cash only sales, sanitary problems and how pushy they were to sell their items. First, they pick the meat up with their bare hands. Second, I get that it's their own farm fresh meat but the price is too high. Third, the old grandma is way too pushy trying to make you buy everything in the shop, even after we were already buying like 7 things including huge steaks. It's 2018 and they still don't accept credit cards? Why? Under the table transactions or something? Not a pleasant experience. Also, don't try to eat too many free samples, they don't like that either.
