Union Jack’s is the best around. Every time I walk in there, it feels very homey with incredibly sweet waiters and waitresses and a really great menu. As a vegetarian, I can always find tons of stuff on the menu! It’s my weekly tradition
Wings were perfectly crisp w/o asking for extra crispy. Friends said Death sauce was hot but still flavorful. Bourbon molasses sauce was also quite good. Had both served on side.
Nice beer selection on tap. Sandwiches fresh/tasty and served with very good homecut fries.
Decent little spot to grab food and drinks. Menu has been the same for years. Would love if they would add a few simple pasta dishes. Maybe chicken parm? Chicken Alfredo?
Me and my wife tried Union Jacks for the first time tonight ( Saturday @ 7:30 ) for date night. We were greeted immediately when we walked in and sat. Jamie was our waitress, who was pleasant and welcoming with a smile. We had the cheese curds and hot wings ( OMG..absolutely AMAZING in size, texture and flavor ?? ) as an appetizer, then, the fish tacos and a cheesesteak for our mains. The cheese curbs were delicious, and the wings phenomenal... We both thoroughly enjoyed the tacos and cheesesteak made with real ribeye meat. If you are looking for a place that is quaint and food that is absolutely delicious.This is the spot to go. We will definately return !!!
I can only review one item because the wings are the only thing I order here - they’re so good that I’ve never felt compelled to stray. They are perfectly cooked and the sauces I’ve tried have had great spice/flavor balance. If you’re a wings person in the area you gotta try the congo
They have the most amazing GF/DF options! I would have never guessed it, but my burger sometimes comes out looking better than my husband's who has no allergies! The manager is so sweet too! We threw a retirement party here and she helped with allergies, let us decorate and was so accommodating.
Let me start by saying. The bartender was friendly. And professional. We then say in the back with a family party. We were having fun. We ordered. Everything was great. Except when I ordered the fish and chips. Asked for tartar sauce. The young waitress handed me honey mustard. I asked for tartar sauce again and she brought me out honey mustard again. I said to her. This is honey mustard. She assured me it was tartar sauce.
A few moments went by and I asked a different waitress for tartar sauce. She instantly went back and came out with the correct sauce. SMH.
Also we ordered drinks. And they took a long time. My boyfriend asked where drinks were. She and I quote. It’s Pa state law that I can’t bring them to you until your finish your drinks. Ummm. Not true. She needs to take her RAMP test.
She needs more training as well.
Always great, never disappointed. Excellent food menu items and daily specials. Very friendly staff. Great rotating beer selection with some of the best IPAs. Today we had their amazing Cheese Curd appetizers (sorry, they disappeared before I could get a photo), Sausage Minestrone soup special, Double Whammy Shrimp Tacos special, and Shepherds Pie. Highly recommended!
Embarrassed to admit that we've lived 2 miles away from this place for 25 years and we finally tried it for the first time last night. Turned out the food was fantastic, service was excellent! We will definitely be going back.
Meaty wings with a variety of homemade sauces, both typical and non-typical. Their hand-cut fries are incredible! The fries don't get soggy like Five Guys and the wings are extra crispy. Also, Wednesday is Wing Night.
Really great spot, extensive beer selection. As a vegetarian, they didn’t miss on the impossible meat cheese steak and the variety of options for all eaters looks vast! Will definitely be back to try other items!
Friendly staff. Good food. My 3rd visit. 1 inside. 2 on the deck. I'll go back. Don't forget to tip the wait staff.
This was my 4th visit and everything was still good. Also, parking is easy.
The wings and burgers here have always been very good. Sitting at the bar, as the weather was not nice enough for the beautiful deck to be open, I ordered wings, fries and beer . There was just one person working the bar area, and while the place got busier over the time I was there, I should not have had to flag them down for condiments, my second drink, and the bill. A separate dish was not provided for the bones. If this is the level of service that will provide, why not just make the place a cafeteria?
I visited towards the end of Feburary and it was such a treat. The food was of peak quality. My server (I forgot his name) was very thoughtful and was very friendly the entire time. To tell you how much I recommend it, I traveled an Hour over to try it, it was wonderful, and I plan to make the trip again. Its well worth it. The service is great, food is wonderful, its well decorated, its cozy, and the prices are great. It is a must try experience. 10/10.
Both Union Jacks locations are great. Good food and definitely a great selection of beers. This location is beautiful inside. Its a historic building complete with deep recessed windows & exposed brick walls. Its a step back in time. The bar area is a little small/tight- but the restaurant seating area makes up for it with its rustic charm. There is also a small outdoor area that overlooks the sprawling countryside & where you can catch a glimpse of some great sunsets in the distance.
We love Congo! We’re here often & never have a bad experience! Chy & Jameson are the best, lots of options for beer & we always enjoy the rotating specials they have! If it’s nice & you’re able to sit out back, they have awesome views there!
Awesome place! This place is not a completely authentic British style pub, but they pack in a TON of craft beers, in bottles, cans, and on tap. We had the tots, wings, and the el camino burger with thier hand-cut fries. Tots came with melted cheese, they don't have a cheese sauce or a whiz. We got the hot wings, hot enough to make my eyebrows and upper lip sweat, not enough for me to take a break cause my lips were on fire. They do have a little different flavor, which I think we figured out was lemon pepper. And these are by far the sauciest wings I have had in a while! The fries were good and the burger was so good and sloppy. They also have a parking lot big enough that we could park our truck and travel trailer in the parking lot. And they let us in about ten minutes early!
This is a fun place with a wide variety of options for a broad range of tastes and dietary preferences. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and she took a couple requests for substitutions to the menu from our table with a smile. The portions were big (but not ridiculous), and the prices were reasonable. We plan to go back the next time we're in the area.
We love Union Jack’s Olde Congo Hotel! The location is great especially if your sitting on the back patio at sunset! The environment is relaxed and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming! The food is on another level, most recently my son got the great chipped beef on an amazing roll cheesesteak. Fish and chips is a favorite of my youngest. Crab cake sandwich my wife loved, and I enjoyed the cheesy rake on the special menu, it was the same great cheesesteak my son got only topped with the night before a pork belly leftovers, sautéed peppers and onions, and some homemade hot sauce. It was sooo good. The drinks were great too, can’t wait to come back!
I don't have enough positive things to say about this place. My friends and I have been coming here for years and each time it's just as excellent as the last. My friends and I agree, this place has THE BEST WINGS we've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. We used to come for wing night (Wednesdays I believe) when you could get 10 wings for about $5. Sadly that changed recently and 10 wings are only 25% off on wing night. Even so, $10 for 10 of these wings normally are well worth it to me. The custom and house made wing sauces are just as creative as they are delicious, with equal amount of options for those who prefer sweet or a kick. They rarely cheap out on the amount of sauce they give. My basket is often still soaked in unused sauce when I'm done. The place is small but it nicely delivers the vibe of an old style pub. This is a nice touch since it's buried in the middle of suburbia with more residential homes than fellow businesses around it. They have plenty of other outstanding food and drink options on the menu, but the overwhelming majority of the times I come through are specifically for the wings!
Always great food, service, and craft beer selections. Awesome wings every time with great, unique flavors. Never disappointed. One of our top-two favorite local spots!
Food here is excellent, staff is very nice. They have great drink menus, plenty of different beer. Theres different areas to sit, round bar with stools where the taps are. Then 2 dining rooms and an outdoor deck for nice weather. Overall excellent food, service is excellent too. Always love stopping in whenever were local to this gem.
Love the wings! Tried different dinners never disappointed. They post on Facebook their menu and specials the deserts and other things they get from local businesses.all the staff and even the cooks have always been super cool. I don't drink when I eat but the people I have been there with love their beer selection. Their outdoor deck has gorgeous views.
One of our favorite places for dinner. My son picked it for his birthday dinner this year and we enjoyed a great dinner on the deck. We've always had amazing food, service and good selection of beer.
What an excellent surprise! Great atmosphere (went on a June Friday evening and sat outside), very relaxing. Food was fantastic! Offers a really great variety, definitely something for everyone. And the servers were really friendly!
