Tim is always so personable , honest and nice. I’ve been a customer for years getting my inspections done & I truly can’t say anything bad about them. Most recently I had a bad battery that needed replaced in a pinch. I called panicked and Tim told me to come right down (the day before Christmas Eve to boot). He had me in and out in 45 mins. What a life saver - it’s hard to find reliable , honest mechanics these days. Lucky to have them close to home.
Tim & his crew have done various work on several cars for me. The work is always great and most importantly, Tim will tell me if I DON'T need to do something. Honest work like this is hard to come by these days.
Was very happy with the service provided. Brakes sound good after inspection, and they didn’t try to sell me anything I don’t really need done. Would recommend.
I had a spur-of-the-moment repair that needed to be done. Tim tried his best to work me into his schedule but did not have time. What set this shop apart for me, was that he recommended me to another business that would be able to complete my repair the same day. I didn't receive a service here but I will absolutely come to Presto Automotive in the future for the good business they provided. Thank you, Tim!!
These guys rock, they are the real deal and don't cheat you, they only do work that needs to be done and not add anything on. And they are entertaining is all heck to talk to.
I was recommended here by a friend. The service was fantastic and great they did everything they could to help me out, unfortunately I got the wrong headlight. But they are willing to help me with the right one for my car. The staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs for your car. I will be returning back.
Great place! Not sure who I dealt with but he was very nice and had great customer service! I got my car inspected here a few days ago and the man explained everything to me when I picked it up and didn’t try to upcharge or make extra money saying things needed fixed! Most definitely will be back! Highly recommend!
Been going to presto for 20 years. They are honest, fair and the service is the best around. I recommend them to everybody and I have never even heard of a problem
Literally called to see if i would be able to bring in my car to get an estimate for a repair and got YELLED at on the phone what kind of horrible customer service is this???? Didn't even give us the chance to speak because he was literally yelling so loudly. Whoever is answering the phone needs anger management counseling, absolutely DISGUSTING how you speak with your customers . Do better.
Jim is EXTREMELY rude. Don't go here. I asked a simple question and he was just VERY rude the way he spoke to me. I don't know who hurt him in his life but I think he needs to get counseling.
Best group of mechanics and people around! Tim, Roland and the team at Presto Auto do a phenomenal job keeping cars on the road. They have worked on a number of vehicles of mine; they do great work at a fair price. I would highly recommend Presto Automotive for any car repair needs.
Scammiest place I have ever been to. I've been here 4x now and should have posted a negative review every time. Kept giving them the benefit of the doubt because I've had friends and family recommend them. So let me tell you, as someone that comes from a large local family that has been going here for years, go somewhere else. They always find something to add to the bill. Need an oil change, you'll pay for a hose and filters too. Need an inspection, you'll pay for a new belt and tire rotation. They always say they're doing it on your behalf but they're doing it on behalf of their wallet. My personal proof was the time I asked for an oil change and got my filters replaced... When I took it to the dealership they told me AND showed me the filters had not been changed so I had to pay for them again. Luckily they gave me a discount because they felt sympathetic for my situation. Presto automotive might work for little old ladies that don't know anything about cars and let you do and charge whatever but I will never take any vehicle here even if I broke down in front of the shop. Probably get my windshield replaced for a flat tire... "It had a knick so you needed it"
Won't say they aren't friendly but seriously seems like the kind of place that would put sugar in your gas tank to get you to come back for a blown engine. With a smile of course
My family has used this garage for decades. Yes, decades, back to when the father ran it. Up until about 4 years ago, I myself hadn't used them often. Now they are my go to. When my son took his older car there for inspection earlier this year, they were honest with him that it wasn't worth sinking money into. My daughter took her Jeep there for inspection in the fall, it needed nothing. I can't speak to the allegations of ripping people off but I can say that has not been my experience.
I took my SUV there for transmission line that was leaking. They cut it and spliced in a new piece it didn't hold and broke on 376 coming out of pgh from picking up my daughter and granddaughter. I was stranded in the middle of the highway with nowhere to go. If it wasn't for a highway patrol officer pushing me to the shoulder it could've been bad. You don't cut pressure sensitive lines and splice in a piece. You just replace the line. When I took it back they did the same thing again with an added bonus of throwing out a rod bearing. Needless to say I had to replace the engine and they took
No responsibility for it either. They held my Subaru hostage over BS. The only nice thing they did was help me unlock my pickup because I accidentally locked the keys in the truck. I owned 2 trucks and 2 cars. Never again.
The two brothers are nice as long as you let them give it to you up the tailpipe. But as soon as they know their dealing with someone with a brain and a set of balls they start berating ppl and try to intimidate them and threaten them. I would rather sit & wait at the dmv for six hours when at compacity then converse with these two hillbillies for any amount of time no matter how brief the interaction may be.
They've been our family mechanic for longer than I've been alive. Reliable service, friendly and family owned. I highly recommend. Tim does amazing body work, by the way. If you need any body work done, go to Tim!!!!
Great local automobile repair shop. 3 of the top mechanics in Western PA. I own 4 cars and they have been servicing them. I own 4 cars and have no worries when I need an automotive repair because the men at Presto fix it every time. Honest and reliable, you can't go wrong taking your vehicle to Presto.
These guys are the greatest. One of the last independent garages in the area, and they're still in business because they're honest and fair. You don't have to "know somebody" in the garage to get a good price on quality work, as long as you can be a little flexible with the turnaround time.
You have to be crazy to take your vehicle here. I took an older car of mine here for a few years and they cause more problems then they fix.
The worst problem they've caused me by far was when they replaced my flywheel. They clearly didn't take the time they needed to and after a few months one of the bolts came loose and caused an oil leak. I had to take my car back TWICE to get it fixed by these incompetent mechanics. Not only that, but they were rude when I brought up the fact that they caused the issue.. Not only that but they left my car with an oil leak when they 'repaired' it. My car could have caught fire riding around with an oil leak, no respectable mechanic would put a car that dangerous back on the road.
Since then I've gotten rid of the vehicle they've destroyed, needless to say I'll never be going back there again.
Stay away from this shop... they'll over charge you and their work is downright scary. There are plenty of other trustworthy mechanics around who will do a better job.
