The ladies in the gatehouse were rude and difficult to deal with. Communication was terrible. I pay for a dumpster now so I don’t have to deal directly with them again.
I dumped 3 loads of Shingles here as a business. I needed to go inside with proof of insurance for my vehicle and business and get registered with them. They were very friendly and informative with getting everything submitted. It was easy to drive to the top and get unloaded. They wet the dirt road to keep it from being too dusty. The speed limit is very low which is a bit hard to keep.
They close at 4pm weekdays and 11:30am (!!) Saturdays, so its always packed on Sat! Kind of nice to see so many people making an effort though! We joke there is a "warden" that walks around checking on/pestering everyone so we learned to park as far away from wherever he is standing as possible. This place is very militant with its restrictions as far as what goes where and what is/is not accepted. Dont think they are happy you are there to do the right thing. Just think of this place as more of an opportunity for you to be responsible and you'll need to put some effort and thought into it. That said, it's clean, organized, and actively attended.
They sure do make it hard on their residents to do the responsible thing.
Do you want to recycle 4 AA batteries? They'll take them, but at its own specific site and each needs to separately bagged. Do you want mulch? Hope you don't mind shredded pallets in there. Do you want to dispose of a mattress, or a single garbage bag? That'll be $41 and you'll need to obtain a permit. I've lived in other counties that'll take garbage for free, and you only need to show a license.
They share the blame if people are not jumping through hoops and disposing of trash irresponsibly.
Unfortunately, most people work during the week and can only go to the landfill on Saturday. Be aware if you are there a second after 11:45 they will not let you it, so plan accordingly if you live across town!
The worker man here at the recycling center is very rude He has smart mouth comments and follows everyone around like a shadow. It would be easier to drop everything off to him, so he can make sure it is in the exact right place. I will not go back! I wasn't even going to give it a star, but it won't post without one.
Went there for the first time and the lady at the scale house was rude and had an attitude. Fire her, you are loosing business because of her. She makes it appealing to drive to Lancaster’s dump.
It's a great place to dispose of the unwanted items you don't need or want or sale it's a place where you can throw your trash out for $36 a ton anything over will be $72 but guess what? that's where I took all the trash that I didn't need that my tenant left behind on my rental property some of the items was donated, clothing- Christian Ministry, item for disabled persons donate it to the free clinic, other item to the Salvation Army, some of the furniture I gave it to the neighbor they need it, dog items donated to Salvation Army, the food gave it to the neighbors, and everything else that was not able to donate or give away it when to the trash and this is the location to go made a few trips but you can't go wrong for $36 for pour trip. Load up your van and you'll be great, thanks to places like this is very economic where to dispose , I would recommend it. That is all for now
Had an excellent first experience dropping off. Got my permit for $5 with DL and reg. A pick up load was under the $36 minimum friendly and quick service. Be there by 3:30 during the week to unload.
Micki (I believe she works in the front office) was super helpful and kind! With it being my first time traveling up to the landfill with a trailer I was nervous and confused but it worked out great! Huge thank you to her!
