Bought a car from this place. They sold it knowing what was wrong with the car. (Engine/transmission problems) . Don’t do business with these people. Replying to your response. I have a charge on my card from mummerts auto for it but thank you though. Ask kevin where I paid for the car and picked up the car.
I popped a tire on my 26 foot food truck, at 3 pm. I had to be at an event at 5 pm in Dover! I pulled right in and they said no problem! Fixed immediately! I was blown away on how nice they were and fast and made it happen no matter what! If i could give more than 5 stars I would!
My friend actually goes here. I went with her to pick up her car. The mechanic was very nice. The prices seemed fair. I was told they do good work.
I liked their office/customer area.
First, U-Haul might be a sperate business but the Mummert employees are the ones being interacted with so the business is NOT SEPERATE or there would be a designated person who only deals with the U-Haul aspect(which there is not)!
We stopped in on Thursday 8/14/25 to see if they had any U-Haul trucks available to rent and were told they do not service walk-ins and that they did not have any trucks available! Yet they had 3 trucks in their parking lot. We could not find any U-hauls available in the area so we got online to reserve a 15' U-Haul and were instructed to pick it up Saturday 8/16/25 at 10:00 am AT Mummerts. We called after making the reservation to verify with Mummerts that they would have the truck there ready for us on the scheduled date and time, to which they verified and assured us it would be ready. Today is Saturday 8/16/25 and we arrived at 9:50 am to pick up our RESERVED 15' U-Haul. There was only 1 U-Haul in the parking lot(the same one that was parked there with 2 others on Thursday). When we tried to verify the truck it would not work because it was the wrong truck! Apparently, someone walked in at 9:00 am without a reservation and one of the Mummert employees gave OUR RESERVED truck to the person who walked-in without a reservation. They were not going to rent us the only other U-haul(a 10') in the parking lot but they finally did.
We managed to squeeze everything into the smaller truck and move successfully.
However, that was not the end of Mummerts horrible service! We realized they rented our RESERVED truck to someone else but keep the truck under the name on our reservation... so someone else is using the truck we are responsible for and our truck is in their name. Which messed with the drop off and could have caused us to be charged extra for not being able to verify that we were dropping of the correct vehicle.
How is something so simply, screwed up that badly?
Mummerts should not be allowed to rent U-Hauls if they are not capable of holding a Reserved truck for the person it is reserved for... the side business is obviously far too complicated for the employees of the Automotive shop!
If you reserve a U-Haul and are instructed to pick it up at Mummerts.... tell the people making the reservation that you would rather pick it up somewhere else or BEWARE that your day could be ruined by Mummert clueless and careless employees!
WORST garage every first of all when he does work he smokes right over in your car and not to mention he never answers the phone we set up a appointment I try to get ahold of him nothing bo answer and he claims he has all this knowledge and experience but keeps pushing everything off or back he doesn't know anything about cars and hes very rude and disrespectful do not ever come here go elsewhere and hes super expensive and over priced !
Paul was very rude And sketchy to me he told me he had 10 years of experience on Subaru cars and I dropped my car and stuff to him and I've waited at least 3 weeks or more and he would not answer me my texts or anything then I go to pick up my stuff and he sends me nasty texts and runs jis mouth to me when I go to pick up my stuff he clearly doyknow anything about card thats why he kept trying to push everything back to not take your car here for anything serious hes a oil change guy and inspection guy thats all hes good for I recommend finding another shop I will never come here again!
Rented a uhaul here and was told online it would be $30.99. After they charged my card $66 I called and was told the extra charges were “in the fine print” of a contract I never received let alone signed. Still waiting for the manager to call. I got a very scummy feeling about this place.
If I could give 0 stars. Rude customer service! Made an appointment for today, they told me 9 am and my car sat for 2 hours 15 mins they didn’t even bother with my car. Was told they had two other appointments ahead of me. Why did you make a 9 am appointment for me then and ask me if I was gonna wait with the car or leave it. And I told you I was gonna wait with it because I had no other transportation. I understand the work would take a few hours but why not plan the appointment accordingly! Very disappointed considering I was trying to find a reasonable, fair mechanic shop to continue coming to. Sorry I considered you!
I got my car serviced here a few weeks ago. Great service and competitive pricing. The gentlemen who helped me were very nice and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Just bought a 2011 Ford Focus S 5 speed from here. The car is in great shape and I'm loving it. This has also been one of the best car buying experiences I have ever had as they were not rushing me to buy a car and were so friendly that it made me feel like family. On top of this I had never drove a manual car but was very interested in it and they even took the time to show me how to do it. By far I would recommend them to anyone.
Awesome place to go if you don’t have credit/have bad credit. I bought a car when I was 18 and have had 0 problems- their warranty is great and treat their customers wonderful. I would highly recommend.
We bought my wife's car there a few years ago. We were treated with the utmost respect. During that time, we only had a few issues with the car and it was repaired in a timely manner, and this past weekend, the thermostat decided to act up, had it towed to the fella who does our repair work, only to find that he has obviously gone on vacation. So even though the car has been paid for in full, Mummerts Auto Sales put her in a loaner since Enterprise had nothing available for my wife to use to get back and forth to work!
I like most individuals do not want a car with major or minor defects. When I bought my car last month, every time I thought there was something wrong with, I called Mummerts. Each time they told me to bring it in and they would look at it. And even after they checked it and found nothing wrong. If I continued to complain, they would send it to another mechanic to satisfy me as a customer. They are good, wholesome, respectable people. So go check them out. They have nice 🚗s and they provide "Great" service.
Great cars alittle high in price but with the extra money you out out you get great service great looking cars my family gotten a few cars from them and I've just gotten my first one about a year ago and so far haven't had one problem with any of the cars we got from them
Worst place we've ever dealt with. They claim to not do their own inspections when they did for the vehicle we had bought that ended up having over $1,000 worth of brake repairs needed. Missed a payment due to paying for brakes, they came and took it off of my father-in-laws property without even saying anything to him and tearing up his yard trying to tow it. The address was never even provided. When we called mummerts they said it was to get it to fix the brakes. On top of that, they file paper work to sue us for the cost left on the vehicle and they dropped it days before and sold the vehicle again. And never allowed us to pick up our belongs that were in the vehicle. When we called about it they told us they were thrown away. According to the courthouse this place has been sued NUMEROUS times for shady business such as this. Will not ever go back or recommend them to anyone!!
great place if they like you they treat you like family. Great customer service not a bad thing to say about them my daughter plans on going to buy another car from them.
Mummerts comes through again...love this place... outstanding customer service...l live in PA and starter went up in Maryland...car was not under warranty for electrical... however I called them...they can and picked up car...most dealers would've charged over a $100 just to pick up...they replaced starter...notice a little rust on a muffler clamp...replaced that...and cleaned upper fuel system while they had it...all of that for $200...they really took care of me...oh...did I tell you they gave me a loaner car while repairs were being done..all if that would've been will over $500 or more somewhere else...super happy with the customer service they provide...will buy there again and again.
