horrible, they didn't communicate with me very well, took them months to find a transmission, and from florida, why? i would never have wanted that, then it got lost or was sitting on a loading dock for weeks, then its coming, then its not, i finally say i dont have the money any more and i want my car back, they tell me no, i cannot have my car back till i pay for a transmission i would have never bought, they did the work and i still have issues, hard to get into gears, rough shifting between gears. i am so unhappy, i spent 2400 bucks and the only thing that is different is i actually have a semi working clutch and the throw out bearing noise is gone, it is not fixed, yea thank you very much, (sarcasm big time) I didn't bring my car in for an appointment because I don't trust you. It's funny I've never had problems with any other mechanic who has worked on my cars. And the mechanic I have now is awesome, he communicates constantly with the work he is doing, he has figured out multiple issues the car had and now he is fixing my clutch and transmission issues. And yes I've had to buy new parts for what was supposedly already done. And no refunds on such a big purchase, really? You lost the transmission, you found it, took forever to get it and I will never be ok with buying something so important from so dar away with no refunds. Sounds stupid to me.
My husband and I were five hours from home and had a concerning noise coming from the wheel of our 1 ton pick up. We had a 10,000 pound trailer to tow home and felt concerned about the drive and needed a shop to take a look at it. After speaking with Patty on the phone, she told us to come on by and that Mathew, the owner, would take a look at it for us to make sure we could safely get on the road. Everyone was very professional and Mathew was very kind and took great care of us as soon as we arrived. Thankfully, we didn’t have a major mechanical issue and they got us back on the road and on our way within 30 or 40 minutes. I run a service shop back home in Bend and was blown away by their professionalism, organization and customer service. I highly highly recommend Evergreen auto for anyone on the coast who needs to have routine service or repairs done to their vehicles. And if you’re passing through, I need a shop to take a look at your rig. They are the ones to call.
We had a UHG belt break while driving to the Oregon Coast on an unusually hot day. The Aktiv was still drivable but the temperature of the coolant was bouncing close to 220 degrees.
We decided to play it safe and stay put a night at a campsite just a few miles from a mechanic’s shop in Nehalem, Oregon. We were concerned that the UHG belt might have broken due to another problem that caused overheating of the coolant.

I want to add them to the recommended service list. They get 5 star reviews and I had that experience, too. He crawled under the van first to inspect it and then did a full scan. No issues except the broken UHG belt. No charge!
He advised me to turn off the AC on the pass and turn on the heat to keep the coolant from overheating on a hot day. I did that and it did help.
We are all used to the worthless temperature gage in the dash which never moves above the middle scale.

On vacation we needed a jump and stopped by to ask for cables. Was extremely helpful and got us some thick gauge cables that got us up and running really fast. Couldn’t be more pleased with the service
The plastic skid shield on our 2023 RAV4 came loose on the way from Portland to the coast. Duct tape was a temporary repair. The Toyota dealer was booked for the week, and Evergreen Auto took us on short notice. Mike worked on the car and brought the trashed skid shield in to show me before disposing of it. He saved the fasteners in a ziploc bag for me. The big surprise was that they decided on no charge for the service. I waited while they worked on my car and saw how they treated a supplier (Napa auto parts) and a few customers. They clearly want to help and were courteous and professional with everyone. I checked with family and friends in Manzanita and they all had only excellent words for Evergreen auto (i.e., honest, good work, reasonably priced, knowledgeable, etc.). Definitely the place I will bring my car when it needs routine service in the future.
My 78 VW bus decided to not want to leave Nahalem while on a road trip from SF to Astoria. We were rescued and left her in the good hands of Evergreen Auto. On Monday, when they opened back up, he called to say it was a loose wire and is good to go. No cost. Just incredible service. We really appreciate good, honest auto mechanics… and this is one of them!

The staff here are very honest! We were travelling from Canada in a very old car, and it looked like we had a leak. We were short on time to get to where we were going, and it was late in the day. He took a look at a few things and assured us that it was just the AC condensate drain. He made sure that we would be safe to drive the car further, and did not try to take advantage of the fact that we were foreigners. Thank you for taking care of us here!
I purchased an older truck with the intent to learn how to do all the basic maintenance myself and keep it running for a long time.
I took it to Evergreen to have it fully inspected and get some advice on how to take care of it moving forward. I couldn’t be happier with the results.
They took extra time to inspect the vehicle throughly, give me valuable feedback/advice, and left me feeling much better about purchasing the truck and how to take care of it moving forward. They even changed the oil for me. It wasn’t necessarily in their benefit financially to go above and beyond for me, but they did it without hesitation.
Pricing is incredibly reasonable for the skill and experience that they bring to the table. Top that with the excellent customer services and genuine care they put into each vehicle and job and you’re looking at the best place to bring your vehicle for miles and miles.
Furthermore, I dropped a couple $10 bills waiting for a ride to pick me up and sure enough they called to let me know they found them and will be holding on to it for me.

I have taken my Dodge 24v diesel to several dealers and a few other shops and spent thousands, I take it to Evergreen auto and they diagnosed and fixed problems, right away and at a realistic price.
I have taken my truck to them for 6 years and will always take my truck there no matter where I am located.
I now have a second vehicle and it will always go there as well.

These guys are fantastic! I have had several experiences just as a walk-in with no appointment. They have found extra smaller issues and they fixed them ( on 3 occasions) but wouldn’t take payment cuz they were easy for them. Honest, fast, knowledgeable and friendly!
Quite amazing service! Our Subaru developed an electrical problem while we were in town on vacation - "alternator" light on, battery not charging. I spoke with them yesterday afternoon, arranged to drop the car off just after they opened at 8 this morning. An hour later I got a call confirming that the alternator was definitely bad, would need to be replaced, and that one was being ordered (from NAPA in Seaside, it turns out, almost 30 miles away) and would arrive this morning. An hour after *that* I got a call saying that the car was ready to be picked up - new alternator installed, problem solved. Fast, friendly service with no surprises and at a lower cost than I'd expected - strongly recommended!

Can't thank these guys enough! Pulled into this place towing my 5th wheel which had no brakes or taillights working when we left the state park. These guys dropped what they were doing and had me safely on the road in about a half hour after zip tying one of the broken connectors. These guys were booked solid and could have told me they had no time, but they didn't. It's great to have people who still want to just help others. And when I asked how much he said, a ridiculously low amount for about 30 minutes of experienced mechanic time, which I doubled. Give this place your business!
My boyfriend and I had some car trouble while we were camping in the area. We stopped in and were helped immediately. Neither of us know much about cars, but the people at Evergreen Auto explained exactly what they were doing and what we should watch for. I was very pleased with the reasonable cost of labor too. Overall a great experience!
I was very happy with my service. I came in for 60,000 miles check and thought it was going to be expensive with all fluids being changed. But after they checked it out the fluids was good no need to be changed except the oil. Very pleased with my service. 😊
On the Friday of Labor Day weekend it smelled like my car brakes were burning. I found Evergreen Auto on Google and just dropped in on them. Mike was above and beyond helpful and sorted out the problem right away (not the brakes!). They barely charged me for their trouble even though they spent 20-30 minutes on it. I felt very lucky to have found them. Six stars.

I was in town, visiting from Cornelius Oregon when my thermostat failed in my 1990 Ford Ranger. I knew exactly how to fix it, that wasn't my problem. My problem was I needed a ratchet, a socket and an extension to take the thermostat housing off and swap out the (stuck shut) thermostat with a new one. It's literally a 5 minute job. I stopped in, borrowed the tools and I was back on the road in 15 minutes. The young man who greeted me with a smile and loaned me his tool was fantastic. It's been probably 2 years since this happened, but I happened to be on my google and saw that I had visited Evergreen Auto in the past (google map timeline) and thought I would share this fantastic and uplifting experience. Oh, I have since gifted that old 1990 Ford Ranger to my Son. It was his gift from Dad for graduating Army Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri. On a side bar, I asked him directly what 'reasonable' gift he would like from Mom and I for completing this wonderful goal of his. He simply looked over at my parked truck (I had bought a new Ford Truck recently) and said, I really want Dads ol Stranger. That's what we called the truck over the years. It makes me happy to see him driving that old pickup that I drove way back when I was in High School at Aloha High.
While visiting Nehalem Bay St Park, I noticed that my 2007 Dodge Ram tail pipe was hanging loose. I checked the area for a garage and came across this gem. The young tech that fixed this was very knowledgeable, friendly and super honest. These types of small garages may not have all the parts in stock but they have plenty of dedication to their craft, expertise and customer service. Thank you for your prompt and efficient service, could only wish that big city dealerships had this kind of integrity and expertise.
Had a problem with my vehicle while coming down for camping. I showed up on their doorstep unannounced and was greeted with a smile and a hello. The shop was very busy and one of the mechanics came over right away to hear my tail of woe. They took the vehicle for a drive, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed the same day. Fantastic service and tech skills as the problem was not an easy diagnosis. I would not hesitate to send everyone I know to Evergreen Auto.
These folks are legit. During our weekend at the coast our water pump busted a bearing which ended up tearing the serpentine belt and leaking out all of the engine coolant. They were super busy but still made time to check it out for us and then found time to get it replaced that same day. They even gave us rides to/from downtown Manzanita.
